I got an email today from 30/10 saying that they are now offering programs for kids. Please do not…read moreput your kid through this. I was 18 when I began this program and it was a horrible experience. Most of your meals are pre-packaged powder and you eat 600 calories a day (if that). This diet puts so much stress on your body. I was having anxiety attacks more frequently, my hair was falling out, I felt like sleeping all day because my body wasn't getting enough calories. I would come home from school and cry on the floor for hours because I felt so weak and depressed. Not to mention that my parents spent thousands of dollars on this program. Sure you lose the weight, but it does major damage to your body in the long term. If you want a healthy and sustainable solution to weight loss, I suggest you go to the gym across the parking lot. Consider speaking with a nutritionist. Please do not put your child through this program!

It took me many years to FINALLY be at a place in my life to walk into a business like 30/10 and…read moresay I need help. I am glad I did. I finally had enough, waved my white surrender flag and walked in the doors Dec 7, 2017. Immediately I was met by the team (Megan, Shannon, Natalie & Cassie) and started the program. The motivation was for me. I didn't like how I felt, how I moved, how breathing was hard. But I also wanted to live a better life, be a role model for my kids and ultimately be around for them much longer than projected. At first I struggled with accepting it would work, thinking just around the corner I was going to suddenly gain it all back. I was so programmed for failure. Each week the team met with me, dealt very professionally with a gazillion questions and cheerfully greeted me when I came in the door (even when sometimes I was a bit gruff or not ready to trust the program). Each week I saw success, consistently dropping pounds and body fat. If you stick to it (THIS IS KEY) and stop making excuses (oh I went out, was at a friends house, had a party, etc) and make a choice for you, YOU can do this. I told everyone at work what I was doing and why. I felt the team needed to know why I might go out, drink or whatever. I told friends, family and everyone who might listen. I stopped drinking alcohol day 1 and went through the holiday season without a drop. I just told family/friends/work folks what I was doing and had 100% support, no questions. It made the holidays better as I would have "Dad's meal" and everyone else would have the rest. It didn't matter, I lost 15 lbs through December! It made me realize I could be successful and could say no. I can direct what is going into my mouth. My journey started out at 250.2 lbs. Today I am 174. I fluctuate a couple lbs up and down which is fine by me. I am learning and growing each day what is healthy to eat, how to maintain my loss and how to live longer for myself and my family. This works. It's expensive. I bet I would have spent similar amount of $$ going out drinking/eating that I put towards this personal effort. About 65 lbs of fat gone! I am motivated as ever to keep it off. Do it for yourself first and then do it for others. It works. You just gotta stick to it. You have to own your actions and take responsibility and think ahead in a handful of situations. Do it.

After several back-to-back negative experiences, I have decided to find another massage provider in…read moretown. Nobody wants to start fresh. Finding a new place that accepts your insurance and completing necessary paperwork again is not easy. No massage place is perfect, but when yours becomes a source of pain rather than pleasure, well, you get my drift. Massage therapists are fine, but the front desk people are unpleasant, unkind, and unprofessional. The first one was very pleasant in person, but apparently she was let go due to too many billing mistakes. After she left, I was billed for multiple, random appointments. The mistake was explained to me via multiple emails and phone calls, and at the end, it made sense, but it was still unpleasant. During staff transitions, I had a couple of interactions with Dr. Rachel Giordano. She was probably filling in while the receptionist position was vacant. She was unkind and unpleasant; billed me a wrong amount. When I complained, I was informed that she was from the east coast. Not sure what that has to do with her rudeness, but I let it go. I recently made an appointment and was told that I might need to update my prescription. This was a week ago. I asked the new receptionist to call me if there was indeed any problem. I was supposed to get massage today but no word from the office. No appointment confirmation text or email. Not a beep. I called the office just in case. The new receptionist assured me that all was fine and confirmed my appointment time. When I brought up our chat about my prescription, she was not sure. When she called me back -- literally two hours before my appointment,--she informed me that I needed to renew my prescription. Without an ounce of remorse, she said I would not be charged for late cancellation. LOL. As if I was getting a special treat. I had a week to call my doctor's office and get my prescription renewed. Nobody called me as promised! Dr. Justin Favreau called but he made me feel worse. He said insurance/prescription was my responsibility. Great, why didn't you tell me so a week ago? Why did the receptionist tell me that she would look into it and follow up with me if needed? I won't go back. They are not "stable".
