There were 50 empty chairs and a dozen empty tables all around, that remained empty the entire time I was there. Not good. If a restaurant is very busy and needs to move a single diner to a smaller table that only seats two, I would understand, but then you ask the patron, with an apology, to select a different table, not simply move them when they are, literally, not looking. After dinner, I stepped up to the bar and asked to speak to the manager, and the portly, slightly scruffy gentleman indicated that I could speak with him. When I had related what had taken place, he said that I had a nice meal and said that I should "leave him alone." Shocked, I politely asked for his name. He refused to give it, which is why I described him as portly and slightly scruffy because I have no other way to identify him. So if you are eating alone and perhaps even in a group, chances are not small that you will be treated with as much understanding and civility as I was. The food was good. The drink was good. The atmosphere was good. The servers were kind and helpful. The portly, scruffy, nameless "boss" thoroughly ruined what might have been a perfectly lovely evening.
