It was fun watching the chefs prepare the dishes. We felt like we were watching Top Chef. Great atmosphere. We had a variety of tapas, all excellent. We had the Pork skewer marinade Moorish style, the smoked Iberian top shoulder pastrami bun, grilled pork belly roll, the lamb "pincho" oaxaca, and white wine. The most interesting item was the lamb "pincho". We were told to eat it from the bottom. The top had a chocolate syrup. It was a combination of savory and sweet. We really liked it! I really wanted to try the braised scallop, but was pretty full by then. In fact, we gave some of the pork skewer to our friends who were at the next table. For tapas, it's on the pricey side, but the taste, quality, culinary experience and presentation outweighed the prices. The staff was friendly and helpful when we were looking through the menu. If we ever get back to Salamanca, I would definitely dine here again.

Not good nor bad. I guess it is an urban kind of tapas bar, but I don't like the decor because it's…read moreso white and people throw paper on the ground (as a part of their bar culture, not the fault of the bar) it feels almost dirtier... The tapas are ok, the beer is ok, there's not really much to mention except it's conveniently located right next to the Plaza Mayor.

(We fed five for less than €100 - note: no appetizers or alcohol and just one dessert) Vegan options at the time of this review: Quinoa and veggie soup Seasonal salad Veggie tartar (veggies, lime, ginger, avacado) Hummus and pita Moroccan-style tabouleh Rissoto w/zucchini Veggie (fried) spring rolls w/orange sauce Thai-style noodles and veggies And... The veggie burger (with carrot sauce) We ordered a single order of bread to start (€1) and also got two little shots of spiced garbanzo soup with it. We heard the server make sure it was vegan before she brought it. Tasty and a warm welcome on a cold day. I'd order a whole bowl of it if I saw it on the menu. Our server recommended the rissoto - an excellent choice. It's made with wheat and a creamy sauce, with zucchini and carrots mixed in. Portion size was perfect. If you can't tell in the photo - it's a pretty thick cylinder! Overall - impressed with the food quality and the service. Vegans rejoice. If you're eating with non-vegans - everyone will be happy!

First of all, the photos on here are massively out of date. This place has obviously had som kind…read moreof refurb at some point and does not have any of the garish pink walls or zebra print. Instead they have done a modern yet tasteful look with branding that I love. We visited on a Thursday evening and after spending a few days in Salamanca soon understood why El Pecado wasn't doing a roaring trade. It was quite expensive compared to it's competitors. Now I understand what they are trying to do... what they are 'trying' to do, is be a 'fine dining' establishment and this is reflected in the prices and the presentation of the food. Now they are not quite a fine dining restaurant but this does not mean that they aren't doing lots of things right. The food we had was great. Not fantastic but certainly delicious and I enjoyed every part of my meal. I particularly loved the prawns I had as a starter and would definitely recommend them. The service we had was also very good. Maybe a little slow considering there was only one other table, but still I left satisfied that our waitress had attended us well and with a smile. Overall, I would recommend this place to eat... but I would suggest having the set menu at €25 for 3 courses as that would seem much better value than our bill which I thought was far too steep.
