I never tire of this place. It isn't fancy. It's not presumptuous. It's simply the neighborhood - students, older locals, and others, all talking, laughing, drinking their coffee, eating any variety of their breakfasts and more, and enjoying time together in this comfortably appointed coffee shop on Delmar. People know one another here, with the staff and owners checking in with regulars and welcoming new people as though they've always been here. I come here as often as I can - my go-to is their black coffee, each cup of which is essentially this delicious freshly steamed/brewed americano - and today I added their breakfast bagel, made by my request on sourdough. I meet here with colleagues, friends, and myself, making space to read and think and be in a place that's just good and honest and kind. I'll be back again soon. read more

Came here during the ice festival. Very sad that they did not have enough people on staff for a busy event because this place was BUSY and the line was LONG and we waited!!! NOW, the food and drink was five stars. Hot chocolate very hot and the lemon loaf was good. My daughter got the Macchiato and liked it. The inside is really cute. It is small but cozy. The seating is a little dicey, there is some upstairs seating but great for large groups. The location in the Delmar loop is also very convenient. It's fairly affordable as far as brunch spots go and you do get a good amount of food. read more

My favorite spot on the loop. The coziest atmosphere perfect for catching up with friends or catching up on work. The matcha latte is delicious and I get it every time I go. Cute and delicious! I sometimes forget about this hidden gem of a cafe but when I do go I always enjoy my time there. Today I'm enjoying their iced lavender oat milk latte. I love the plants in the window, the window seating, the eclectic decorations, and fun menu boards. They have a plethora of options, too! The staff was helpful and quick. We wanted a special breakfast and, by golly, we got it! Meshuggah Cafe is cute as all get out, with fabulous art for sale on the walls. Oh, and the food is great, too! I loved the vibe. There were a lot of students with laptops, which makes sense given the cafe's proximity to Washington University. The staff taking our order and delivering our food... all very nice and cool. I apologize, I don't recall what we ordered, but I can attest both of our bagels were fantastic. I'll state with confidence - no matter what you order, you will love it! I like this restaurant. I came here with a couple friends and decided to get a breakfast bagel sandwich and I was blown away. The service was really quick. The vibes in this place are so cute! First time trying this place out and got a cute little nook upstairs to eat, and definitely would consider doing homework here. The ordering was fast and efficient and the prices weren't too bad. I ordered the cheese, egg, and bacon on an everything bagel sandwich, I forgot its name. I've never been a big fan of everything bagels, but the bagels here are actually amazing as it is super toasty and the seasoning on top is not overpowering the semi-sweet carb. Wish there was more bacon in the mix, but I did really appreciate the fluffy eggs with cheese. I felt super full afterward, it could be considered a brunch item honestly, so I would say that it's pretty worth the $8. Overall, great experience and Meshuggah. Cute little place with tasty bites and yummy coffee! Got a toasted, everything bagel sammy, with eggs, turkey, spinach, and mozzarella. It was hot, crunchy and soft at the same time, full of flavor, the the texture was on point. Paired with an iced Thai coffee (coffee & condensed milk). We also got a Turkey Club (not pictured, sorry!) and iced tea. Our total was around $30 for 2 drinks and 2 sandwiches. The service was pretty quick, staff was friendly and helpful, the place felt cozy, and the walls were adorned with local artists paintings for sale. Met some friends here for breakfast because of the vegan and gluten free options. Everyone loved their meal. We did not have to wait for a table. 420fest was setting up on Delmar so we had to walk to get here but it wasn't bad. Free parking lot down the road. My son had French toast which was like bagel french toast dipping sticks. Pretty fun! Cool vibe with local artwork for sale and some games available to play. Service was great. They had a recycle bin which I love to see. Seemed like a lot of their stuff was compostable so maybe they compost too, not sure. Would love to see more vegan options added, but the ones they have are well marked on the menu. Would be a good spot for lunch too as it's really a bagel sandwich shop. The price for an Americano includes a refill, according to the menu. But when I went back up for my refill, I was informed that I can not get a refill because it's the weekend. I wouldn't have ordered it in the first place if I'd known this. They should post a sign saying "no refills on the weekend" or at least inform people when they order, since it's clearly posted otherwise on the menu. Three stars because it was pretty good coffee. Perfect little place for working while people watching which for me is the perfect combination. I had a really good peach green tea that they brew right there . No sugar needed when it's good tea like this. I also got the hummus plate which was substantial and included warm Pita and veggies with olives . Pre-ordered 2 dozen bagels a week in advance for a very busy weekend in St. Louis. Got receipt for payment and confirmation of order via text. Even received a notice that "bagels were ready for pickup" the morning of. Arrived on time and waited in line only to hear "oh, sorry, we don't have any bagels for you it's a very busy weekend and we sold out." In one word: unacceptable. If you have a preorder system and can take the money and confirm the order you should be ready to fulfill the order. I anticipated a very busy day due to parents weekend at Wash U which is why I placed the order well in advance. Nobody called to tell me there would be no bagels. Isn't this a bagel place? And there was zero remorse for this upon arrival. Not sure who is running this place but I highly recommend a revamp. Better to be honest with what you can't deliver than to make the customers scramble after you take their money. This place has been around a while...this wasn't your first parents weekend.
