I'm usually anxious every dental visit but that changed when I started going to Mesa Family Dentistry. Dr. Turner was recommended to us by our dentist back in Torrance, CA and we are very glad he is our Dentist. He is knowledgeable, professional, and very straight to the point. His staffs send appointment reminders and if you are unable to confirm via text, they will call to check on you. They've also communicated well with our dental insurance company and so far we have not received any surprise bills. He and his whole team has taken care of us so well and we are looking forward to many more years with them. read more

I hate to leave this review but my last experience was truly awful today. My appointment was only supposed for be for an X-ray but the dentist had time to do a cleaning so I said sure. I was told we would just be doing a cleaning and good news was we wouldn't have to do a deep cleaning of my gums which I was told was pretty awful. Next thing I know he's drilling and scaling into my gums without any warning and he never asked if I was okay or feeling any discomfort. I had no prior warning from him saying to let him know if anything hurt. The only way he knew was because I was in excruciating pain and it showed. The pain was so bad I was holding my breath and felt nauseous the whole the rest of the day with a headache. I feel like he's been doing this so long that he lost all of his empathy for his clients or maybe it was never there I'm not sure but I will be finding somewhere else to go. Their saving grace at that facility is his dental hygienist who's been there a long time and is very sweet but unfortunately it's not worth it . read more

I've been waiting for 3 Months for a cleaning at Mesa Family Dentistry. They text me my appointment is 11/8 at 8am. I show up on 11/8 at 8am and they will not honor the appointment. They say their automated system was incorrect and my appointment is 11/9 at 8am. This is a place that does not put their customers first and obviously does not honor their commitments. Myself and family will no longer support this business and you should not either if honoring commitments and putting customers first is something you require. read more

I've been going to Dr Turner and Mesa Family Dentistry for about the last 22 years. I didn't even think about giving him a review until I was speaking with someone who found a different dentist by looking on reviews on Yelp. First, Dr Turner is an excellent dentist. He is professional, extremely talented and skilled in his profession. He is direct and caring, albeit not in a warm and fuzzy way, but he truly wants you to be free of any teeth problems. His staff is always professional and caring too. Again, not in a bubbly, over the top way, but in a way that makes sure you navigate your dental care and insurance and payments in an efficient manner. I have had lots of different types of work done and every single experience has been positive and left my teeth feeling better and normal. (We all know how horrible and distracting a tooth problem can feel....normal is really good). An example of how Dr Turner cares is how he helped me navigate an emergency for my young daughter, about 19 years ago when she was three, but before she had seen a dentist. She fell and knocked a tooth out and was headed to the ER for stitches. He took my emergency call and told me what to expect and the options that would likely be presented to me and things I should consider when making decisions. Overall I highly recommend this dentist and this office. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else! read more

Had a complication from a procedure with another oral surgeon and Dr. Turner was the on-call emergency weekend provider. He was very receptive to my concerns and showed a lot of compassion by agreeing to see me in the middle of a Saturday afternoon. I felt like he really cared about my comfort and well-being since my regular oral surgeon wouldn't be available for several days. He took care of my issue quickly and professionally. Dr. Turner changed my life. I injured my front tooth when I was 7 and it turned black. After a bad cosmetic job to correct the issue I had settled with the fact I would just not feel great about my smile and continued on with life. Im approaching 30 and finally wanted to address my front teeth. It took some time as I needed an implant but today I had the final product put on my teeth. I almost cried because I had no idea how life changing it would be to look in the mirror and be genuinely happy with my smile. I found my way to this office when I took advantage of a Groupon offer for a deep cleaning. I've been back three times since so I can speak from at least some experience. No, Dr. Turner is not the most outgoing dentist I've ever had but neither is he rude or short. Kind of a strictly-business guy, and I guess that's not all bad. As for me, however, I've decided to find another dentist in Mesa where I feel like my business is at least valued. Went to dr. Turners office a few times because he was close to my home. I made a huge mistake by asking him to do some bonding to my teeth. It looked okay when I left but a couple days later I noticed a difference so I went back in to see him and told him my concerns. He said and I quote, "you are looking too closely in the mirror". He also said " If it bothers you in six months, come back". So I went back for a cleaning and mentioned it again, he said there was nothing he could do other than a veneer. Even if he were able to fix it, i certainly would not have let him touch my teeth again. I have deterred at least five people from going to his office. He is rude and unprofessional. I have since found a new dentist but I will continue to deter business. Some people just shouldn't be in the profession they are in. read more

I went in to see Dr. Turner this past month for my routine exam and had another great experience. The front office staff was very friendly and was great about calling me when my appointment was due. His hygienist is awesome and I enjoyed visiting with her while she cleaned my teeth. I have been a patient of Dr. Turner for over 18 years now, and I go in every 6 months for my routine cleaning and have had a few root canals and crowns done by him over the years. For a few years I didn't have insurance and needed a crown. He went over my options and was willing to work with me to make sure I had the best options available. They require a 24hr advance notice to cancel an appointment, but due to the fact that they close at 3PM on Friday for my appointment on Monday, I was only able to leave a message on their answering machine. So somewhere is the fine print the message can't be left, unless it's with a living person. The need to talk to a living person is so they can contact no-one due to fact that there closing, and have no need or urgency to fill the spot. The message also apparently can't be retrieved on Monday morning due to the fact that they are to inept to operate the machine or service. They also charge $25 to email x-rays to another dentist. That's odd due to the that not only has my insurance company paid for the x-rays, but so have I. Someone is getting paid way too much to pull up a file, type in an email address and hit send. Our whole family has been going to Dr. Turner since he started as a dentist 16 years ago. Even though we moved, we still drive 1/2 hour each way because we feel comfortable with him and appreciate his honest, straight-forward, professional style of dentistry. We refer him to anyone who asks. He never tries to "up-sell" or make up things that need to be done just to charge you more. His staff is great and I've never had to wait for more a few minutes to be seen for my appointment. I've had several dental emergencies over the years and he always manages to squeeze me in. The laser is amazing and it's nice not to have to be numbed up for simple procedures. read more
