The best barbers in town for the best cuts in town! Quality of fades and cuts is above all else and the entire vibe of this shop feels like a break away from life. Good laughs, cuts and staff. My 9 year old loves coming in for his haircuts as well and they are great with kids cuts and keeping the younger kids calm during their cuts too. read more

I recently brought my son to get a hair cut at Mesa barber shop because my husband had been going for years and always had a great experience. Every time my husband would come home from his weekly hair cuts with Ceasar, his fade looked consistent, super clean and he always had a smile on his face with positive outlook on life! (Thanks Ceasar) I had been cutting my sons hair since he was a baby so I wanted to make sure I went to someone who was careful and trustworthy. Ceasar is the shop owner and he's the one of the most down to earth and amazing guys I've met. He's a very talented barber and put me at ease through out my sons hair cut for his first professional fade! Super happy I took the leap and chose Ceasar. He's a family man and super good with kids too. I totally recommend Mesa barker shop because it's clean, they all wear masked and they are very professional. Five stars! read more

This place convinced me I needed to learn how to cut my own hair. Went there for a new years cut and came out looking like a Halloween decoration. I went there a couple of times, thought they would do a better job for returning customers. They also made me wait 15 minutes the first time and 20 the second time even when I had an appointment both times. read more

Great barber shop.. Annabelle is awesome definitely coming back and Ceasar the owner is cool as hell. Definitely a shop i will keep going back to on a regular read more

I told the guy, believe his name was Rudy maybe, that I just wanted a quick shape up around my ears and in the back - nothing really off the top. A 5 min basic trim turned into a 45 min escapade where nearly all my hair was cut off on the top. Everyone in there has the chairs facing the middle of the room like it's a hang out social gathering, well I want to be facing the mirror like any normal place so I can see what's happening vs getting a mystery cut! Such a bogus job. I should have known better than getting my hair cut from someone with a bad haircut. This place is a joke, should be renamed the butcher's shop read more

Good afternoon everyone , Moving away from Belgium was nice but finding a good hairdresser was really hard. Arguable one of the best barber shops not just in Santa Barbara but in all of California. The vibe inside is classic barber shop which you can feel since it's a family owned & operated business. A historic business on the Mesa catering to locals, college students & visitors alike. Truly part of the community with customers in age from younger kids crying in the chair while being cheered up by the barbers to the elderly just wanting a fresh neat haircut and everything in between. Full barber shop talk happening while each barber is doing excellent work. Sports on the TVs & skilled haircuts being done. What more could you ask for? Make sure you have an appointment as the waiting times for walk ins can be long since they are in such high demand. Just call in to make an appointment. Want an old school straight razor shave? They've got you. Want some unique design or proper fades done this is your place. Offering hand sanitizer & wiping down chairs between customers as well as masks on for customers & employees. Taking more precautions than some restaurants. You can tell they care about the customers. Mesa Barbers is part of Santa Barbara history & should be your go to location for hair cuts etc. read more

Place looks nice but the barber is horrible. I had a appointment, came in time and the guy was in the back having a Big Mac or something. 20mins later I finally get on the chair. His work needs improvement I had long hairs, Lines weren't faded in right. It was all bad. Low key I think he needs a new eye exam. I believe his name is Christian or goes by chris cutters. read more

Never go to a barber that puts gel in your hair without asking. Just a huge RED FLAG!!! They fucked up and they don't want you to see it before you leave. The guy I went to looked scared to cut my hair and when I showed him a picture of what I wanted it looked nothing like what I showed him. Never coming back here again. DO NOT GO HERE!!! read more

Covid 19 related review. Hate to have to write this review. I have been going to Mesa Barber Shop for at least 7 years. I love the place. I went the other day and about half way into the haircut my barber said I could take my mask off if I wanted to. I am vaccinated with the booster and still always wear a mask into stores. I hadn't really been paying attention but when I turned around to look at him I saw he was not wearing a mask. My first question was, have you already had your booster and his reply was "What is that?" At first I thought he was joking but I asked if he was even vaccinated and he said "no, it is a personal choice." If I wanted to, I could leave. He then offered to put a mask on and I was glad that he did but I find it completely wrong that someone working within inches of another person would not wear a mask and would not mention that they were not vaccinated. Perhaps some folks might like that he was making a decision to put others at risk. I ain't one of those people and if you believe in vaccines and mask wearing, you might want to look for a different barber. I know I am. read more

Mesa Barber Shop - INES (left) doing her THING. Early Morning Crowd. - Barbers Near Me - Santa Barbara, California

This family run shop is full of talent. Inez is the best and has been my personal barber for several years. Her fading skills are second to none and her razor skills are sharp as the come. Pun intended. Additionally, this family shop is highly invested in the community. Inez volunteers her time and skills to service those who cannot afford to pay full price. I cannot express my appreciation enough for Inez and Mesa barbershop. It is a local institution that I take my 6-year-old Godson to; a tradition that I hope to last for years to come. I highly recommend this shop for anyone looking for a good barber and a traditional barbershop experience. read more

Oh how I miss this place. Gordy is my dude! I use to go here all the time to get my cuts, I searched and searched all over Santa Barbara but never found the right spot, until I accidentally came here, I still come here every time I go to Santa Barbara. I'm from Seattle originally and there is a lot of good spots for a clean fade or taper, so I had a really high standard for hair cuts. But coming here, the guys really met my expectations to the fullest. The wait is never too long, and the guys are mad chill! But if you're in a rush do make an appointment. Also, Eric does dope designs, so if you are in the mood for that, they will hook it up! Mesa Barbers FTMFW! read more

Best barbers on the Mesa! Received 5 years of service and I wouldn't have gone anywhere else. Ask for Anni or Gerry.

Asked for a trim on the sides because I wanted to grow out my hair. Ended up getting a full on haircut. The basic santa barbara parted to the side one. It looked real bad because I've got straight asian hair and the guy ended up cutting it too short. So I told him to just cut the sides and have the top long. Wasn't happy with what I got at all and ended coming back 10 mins later because they forgot to cut the left back side of my head. Over all I don't plan on coming back and I still got charged $18. read more

This is by far my favorite barber shop in Santa Barbara. Rudy has been cutting my hair for years. He always knows the right cut and the right shave, even though I've been coming in with less and less hair every time! read more

This place is unprofessional and a waste of time and money. I called in all week to try to get an appointment and they said they were booked everyday. Fine, I'll be a walk in. I called in Saturday morning, they said there's no appointments available but if I came in ASAP it would be about a 30-45 minute wait. Fine. I rushed over sat there for 45 minutes until one of the barbers FINALLY asked me if I had an appointment. I replied no and he replied, "Well it's going to be 45 mins to an hour because all the barbers have appointments." I told him I just called in an hour ago and he told me it would be 30-45 mins. He walked away and said "Sorry we have appointments." Great you have appointments, does that mean you guys don't take walk-ins? I gave them the benefit of the doubt and continued to sit there hoping with each next finished customer that I would be next. But no. People still kept coming in and skipping over me, they must have "had appointments." No. Priority is set by who they want to cut and friends get priority. Meanwhile two of their four barbers go chill in the back instead of taking customers. Unbelievably unprofessional. I will never go back to this place and I should've listened to every one of my friends who told me this place is whack. I do not recommend this place unless you personally know one of the barbers. Go to Richie's or Montecito Barbers instead. read more

Went to Mesa Barbers to give it a try and ended up with THE WORST HAIRCUT OF MY ENTIRE LIFE. The woman working there had no idea what the hell she was doing. After she buzzed the sides and back of my head, she barely even cut the top, leaving me with a half buzz half long haircut. if you want someone to ruin your hair go there. HORRIBLE read more

Been going here for 30 years, it has transformed over the years, new owner about 5 years ago, great family run operation,

My go to spot for a clean cut, good people and lots of laughs. Great family run business always ready to "keep you faded".

I have been coming here for over ten years and enjoy the atmosphere and like the cut. I read the other review about them.being racist and am confused as I am as cracker as they come. Yes, I'm white for all you non diploma holding people. The last person posted on a Saturday, the busiest day of the week. Probably unaware that other people had appointments. Overall this is a great place to get a haircut. My only complaint is Cesar's bad jokes. read more

A packed facility with a business policy kept quiet. If one does not know reservations can be made in advance, then they may find themselves in a situation like my own. When I went I found myself waiting so long that I left. Though I was unsatisfied, the people that actually got their hair cut seemed to have held their heads up high. My experience was bad, but I can't give this place a bad review. I do recommend everyone to stop on by and give this shop a try. read more
