Ivan really would always fam my cut. I would try and give him a second chance but would always mess it up. Tragic.

DO NOT GO HERE. I just moved to town and needed a barber so I thought I'd check this place out. Their barber Ivan messed my stuff up. Worst barber I've ever had. Just needed him to line my beard up and a trim. That turned into months of waiting for everything to grow back. Do yourself a favor and find someone who knows what they're doing. read more

Got a last minute appt for my husband with Ivan. He did a great job and was fun to chat with. Definitely skilled in his craft.

Came into town as a visitor looking for a little freshen up haircut Ivan did a great job especially on my quirky weird "COBRA" haircut. He was very accommodating even answered the door on the day they weren't open to make arrangements for my haircut. this is a great place if you can get an appointment you're fortunate!! keep up the good work guys thank you for a Fresh west coast touch!! read more

This place is really top-notch. I came in without an appointment (but you should make one! I got lucky), and in 15 minutes I was in the chair. I came in with really long, thick curly hair hoping to get it cut down and styled. I was not disappointed. Ivan cut my hair and he spent a lot of time making sure the length was right and putting those finishing touches on. I'm definitely going back. Just note that it's cash only! read more

Chopshop - Barbers Near Me - Santa Barbara, California

After a few days of letting it grow in, it's official: this is a terrible haircut. The first cut I got here was solid, the second had some weird things about it, so I went back and had it fixed. This is unfixable. My hair needs to grow. I'll be wearing a lot of hats. Why is there a big lock of hair in the back left of my head, while everything else around it is short? Why is the side of my head toward which my hair swoops cut way shorter and up higher than the other side? This is maybe the single weirdest thing about this cut. Just makes no sense. And why was more than half the length cut off when I asked for it to be kept long? I'd have said something to stop this madness, but I only saw the cut for about 30 seconds at the end since they flip you way from the mirror when they work. I wish I could say I've found a barber in SB, but the search continues. Clearly a lot of good reviews here, but no denying the top of my head right now. You've been warned. read more

ELIJAH gave me a GREAT cut this afternoon and I could not be happier. I am a barber myself and am super impressed with my cut. I HIGHLY recomend the Chopshop and Elijah is the man! Thanks for the cut and keep up the good work!!! read more

Ahh the Chop Shop...the best in the West. I moved to SB a little over a year ago, and my first concern was finding a barber. I tried a few around town before finding this place, and there's some pretty good Barber's in SB, but none have been able to stand up to Frankie and the Chop Shop. Price is extremely fair and the cut is always on point. Overall, one word comes to mind when I think of this place.. QUALITY. Call ahead though, Frankie is an in-demand man for good reason, and walk-in's will be really lucky if they can get in right away. read more

Always get hooked up with a fresh cut from my boy Elijah. Chill atmosphere, good music bumping. All kinds of Jordan's for decor. They got tv's with sports playing. Lounge/waiting area in back. I've been to alot of barbers, but Elijah at the chopshop knows his stuff. His fades are perfect, he takes his time to make sure your satisfied with the cut. Good conversation to. I highly recommend you see Elijah at the chopshop! read more

We all know that moving isn't fun... and trying to find YOUR BARBER in a new town is even worse than moving. I moved to Santa Barbara a few months ago and went to a few different places. My first time at ChopShop and meeting Frankie, I knew this was the place for me. A nice crew, clean, great cuts, conversation without talking your ear off. I've been back a few times and Frankie remembers what we spoke about last time, so we can pick up where we left off. I highly recommend ChopShop for a clean cut, good conversation and a reasonable price! read more

Recently moved to the area so the search for a new barber was on. After going back and forth between a couple of places, and at the suggestion of my wife, I decided to go with Chopshop. I've been to Chopshop three times now and I've had the pleasure of having my haircut by Frankie. Frankie is a down-to-earth, humble, super talented barber always providing a clean, fresh look all while providing an excellent experience...no forced awkward conversations. Chopshop has the feel of hangin with your buddies in a small, lounge type setting with a couple of t.v.'s, almost always featuring some sort of sports content. Their prices are very reasonable and most importantly their cuts are wife approved! Check out Chopshop and support a young, local entrepreneur. read more

I have been a loyal customer for years with Ivan and Frank. I don't think I would trust anyone else to cut my hair. I would highly recommend this place. If you are looking for the best cut in town and the all around barbershop experience this is the place to go!! Keep up the great work!! read more

Came in today to visit a friend and had some downtime so I decided to finally get my shaggy hair taken care of. Based on previous reviews I decided to try this place out. Luckily they had a spot for me because it sounds like they're usually booked solid and I understand why, now. First thing I noticed walking in was the atmosphere and this place is extremely relaxed. It's run by two brothers, Frankie and Ivan. Ivan cut my hair today and he took his time to make sure it was absolutely perfect while keeping up conversation. They have two flat screen TVs in there that they play sports on and keep the radio loud enough to hear but not interrupt conversation. You won't regret going to these guys and at $22 the haircut is extremely worth it. CASH ONLY by the way. Luckily I had some in my car. Bar next door has an ATM P.S parking is kind of a problem since it's on the main street, but you can find parking around the corner by the houses if there's none on the street Also, you will definitely want to make an appointment a day or two in advance cuz they're so good they get booked solid!) read more

There is a reason they got 5 stars. Very professional. They can compete with Montecito barbers, and the price is better. They don't rush and they're very respectable. The money is worth it. The cut is GREAT. I used to go to LA all the time, now I found the right place. read more

I go to UCSB and have been looking for a barber up here, I found it with these guys. Ivan cut my hair and he did just a good of a job (if not better) than my barber in OC. This is a real barbershop, small place that plays sports, great rap and shoots the shit. Definitely will be coming back and recommend these guys to anyone that wants a good cut for a reasonable price ($22). P.S. call a couple days in advance for your appointment, they're in high demand and it's just the two brothers, Frankie and Ivan working. Also, bring cash read more

Ivan and Frank are two genuine guys running one of the best barbershops I have ever been to. I'm new to Santa Barbara and have been to a couple spots since I moved down here. While the first two spots weren't bad, I had seen The Chopshop here on Yelp and it looked like a pretty cool setup. I'm glad I gave it a shot because I finally found "my" place from here on out. Not only were the fellas (Ivan and Frank) a couple of cool dudes who were very welcoming and professional, but the product was excellent as well. This place had the perfect vibe and I actually enjoyed getting my haircut which I rarely do. These guys and the Chopshop get an A+ in all categories! Oh and the price point is perfect too! Will definitely be back and will also recommend it to any in the area looking for a quality cut. read more

I met Frankie at another shop shortly after moving to SB eight years ago. He never cut my hair, but he was always one of the cool guys at that location. Fast forward to yesterday, I decided to give Chopshop a try since it's in my neighborhood, and I drive past it at least twice a day on my way to & from work. I'd also had lunch at the Thai restaurant next door the day before. Frankie hadn't seen me in at least 6 years, but he remembered I'd just move to SB the last time we spoke. I was impressed with the shop, especially the outdoor patio seating area. Everything was clean and modern. My wait wasn't long, and my haircut was on point. The main thing I look at when it comes to barbers, is their ability to get my hairline correct. No complaints there! I will definitely return! read more

Coming from out of town, I was visiting the city and came here last minute. I needed a fresh cut for a wedding the next day and they hooked it up. The atmosphere was really chill and the barber was great too- sadly, I forget his name :/ Would totally go back. read more

I paid 30 dollars for the worst hair-cut of my life. The people were nice and social, but they don't know how to cut hair. Well at least the barber I got didn't. He cut the top of the back of my head shorter than the rest of the top. I look like a fool. Don't want to be seen in public. I'm going to have to wear a hat for weeks because of this. I told my cousin about it and she said they did the same thing to her boyfriend. They both told me not to go. But after reading good reviews I decided to give it a shot. This was the worst financial mistake I've made all summer. I expect a good hair cut if I'm going to pay $30. I wanted my money's worth, but instead I got a really bad hair cut that lowered my self-esteem. The fade he gave me isn't even a fade. It's all choppy and patchy. He spent a lot of time on me, I was expecting a good haircut. I trusted that place a bit too much. read more

Pretty good barber shop. I would return but feel like other places give you a little more bang for your buck.

I was at the gym a couple days ago and noticed the perfect fade on one of the guys haircuts. I asked him where he got his haircut from any told me from Elijah at the chop shop. I was able to get my haircut today and must say Elijah did an amazing job! I told him how I usually get it cut and asked him to fade it. He not only got it spot on but had impeccable detail at every angle! The quality supersedes the price paid for this haircut, I am extremely happy I have found a barber of his quality at such a great price. He also is a super chill guy and easy to talk to. read more

I got my first haircut by Barber Frank in San Diego while he was in barber school...the haircuts were excellent then as they are now! I always make sure I stop by Frankie's whenever I'm in town to get a fresh cut. read more

I take my 11-year-old son here. Love these guys. They do a great job for a good price and my son thinks they are cool.

Great spot to get your hair cut. Elijah hooked me up with a nice fade. He pays attention to detail and took his time to find out what kind of cut I wanted. Great barber shop experience, felt like I was on the set of Coming to America. For those who don't know the reference, basically good conversation while I got my hair cut. Highly recommend Elijah and Frankie. I will be coming back. read more

My teenager finally made it to the Chopshop to get a haircut from Ivan. And, he is so happy! Ivan was kind, considerate, and patient with his mom who forgot about bringing cash. :). We will be back, but we may try for a less busy time when parking is not such an obstacle. read more

These guys know how to cut hair - I had to go to at least 5 other barbers before finding this place. So happy that I did!

Frankie is amazing at what he does and so easy to work with. He knows what hairstyle looks good on you. Be sure to call him a day or two early to get an appointment - they are very busy usually, which is a good sign! read more

Frankie is hands the down the best barber in Santa Barbara by far, if you are not getting your hair cuts here then you are really missing out. read more

Fabulous cut for my 2 year old by Barber Frank. He was quick and my son looked sharp when we left! He didn't take too much off like requested and he tolerated the constant head moving of a toddler! We will be back! read more

I have been to several barbershops and this one is clearly the best around Santa Barbara. You will get your money's worth here.

Best spot in town! Cool barber shop run by Frank and Ivan, ideal place to get a cut and enjoy some ESPN at the same time!

Chill atmosphere, fresh haircuts, cool friendly stylist, good price, get your haircut here. Nuff said

I've been getting haircuts here for 3 years now and never walked away with a cut I wasn't happy with. My haircuts never feel rushed no matter how busy they may be and are always on point. Frankie and Ivan provide a real barbershop atmosphere in there from the music to the programming on the television. The shop is always clean and the air conditioning is nice and cool, just a real professional barbershop. 5 out of 5 well earned read more

First time to chop shop last week on a referral from a friend. Ivan & Frank give proper mens haircuts. They take their time. I really appreciated the razor + shave cream around the neck line - nice touch. They have a great little shop! Hip hop on the speakers, ESPN on the flat screens, & MJ's lining the ceiling in glass cases. Pretty much all you could want/expect from a little barber shop. Prices are fair too, but don't forget your greenbacks - they only take cash. read more

This is an awesome barber shop. I sent my husband there and he came back looking great for a very very reasonable price. Highly recommend. It has more of a hip hop vibe if that's your thing. read more

No lie, it's the best barbershop in SB. I found this spot through yelp and this ship is hands down the best. They're good with lineups, fades, and other cuts you prefer. My main barber is Elijah and he knows how give the best lineups and combovers. Just ask exactly for what type of cut you want and they'll do it. 5 stars all around. read more
