Stayed here last night. Had a premium pull through site. Kids enjoyed the pool and the playground. They ride bikes around the complex and had a great time. Showers and restrooms were clean. The people in the office were very friendly and recommended local places of interest. Overall great stay. Would stay here again. read more

So they have WiFi but only for certain folks. Full of Lame Excuses and suggestions to go to the coffee shop. Wait, I paid to stay here! Just because you have a WiFi box is the dishonest and uncaring approach. Basically I've been cheated!! If you don't want to provide WiFi, delete WiFi references from your marketing material. Then I'll choose to go somewhere else. That's honest, not the dishonest and cheating approach taken by these owners. read more

We were quoted a monthly rate of $650 for a monthly site, asked to pay $100 down with a balance of $550 + tax. The reservation desk spent a good deal of time selecting a site along the back wall which would be large enough for our 42 foot fifth wheel & easy to get in to. We were told the interior roads were paved. Also told the cancellation Fee was $10 if done 48 hours in advance. Upon check-in we were charged an additional $666.50 told monthly rent is always &750+ we were assigned a site in the middle of the CG and told no site is guaranteed. We had to ask neighbors to move their vehicles to get on the site. A thorny tree scratching the side as the guide kept telling us to move to the center of the site. Had we done that, there would be no room to park the truck! Interior roads are not paved but tar over pebbles. Dog park is a unshaded dog run 5x10. No wonder people think it's just to poop your dogs there. FYI Dog Parks are intended to give them off leash play space. My chihuahua couldn't run there without hitting the fencing. Another fine KOA! Made reservations ahead of time on the app, was helped immediately upon arriving, didn't even have to get out of my truck. Joanne (almost certain that's her name‍) was super helpful, nice, and even helped me back my trailer into the spot. I read some of the other "bad" reviews about this place, and didn't find any of them to ring true. The ladies and or guys wait at the front in their golf carts to ASSIST people arriving, then they drive them to their site. They're not sitting around policing folks. The staff were all friendly. Joanne was very accommodating too, as she opened up the little store after hours so I could get a couple of Coca-Cola's for the fam. The campground was up to KOA standards; very clean, organized, all hookups in working condition, pool was open as advertised, and all amenities were there as advertised as well. Campsite was as listed in description. Enough room for trailer and truck. Service was 50amp plus water. There is an easy to access sewage dump on the way out. You may have to get the key as I did from a worker. There is WiFi, however, as described, it is NOT FOR STREAMING. Don't get fussy if you can't "Netflix and chill," as the WiFi isn't meant for that. The park itself was SUPER quiet, even tho it seemed to be at capacity and was even Super Bowl weekend. No rowdy parties. For doggie owners, there is a dog park/enclosure, with even a hose to either break up fights or spray off paws. There is also a big open field across the street off site if you have dumb finicky dogs like I do that get pee shy and need their privacy or like to run around. All in all, I would definitely return to this KOA in Mesa, AZ, and would recommend it to others. read more

If you just need a place to stay for a night, it's ok. Bathrooms are clean, there is a pool, hot tub and dog run but not much else. You will need an extra vehicle to get around. It's not a long term place although there are many people who do and some of the sites are a mess. Management should really talk to these people. The people who work in the office and clean the sites are very nice, although a few will let people get away with breaking the rules, so there's that. Letting dogs run off lease was a problem. A neighbor infringed into our site and nothing was done. The people were extremely loud which ruined our stay and the people who were close by. I feel sorry for the long term people who are considerate and have to put up with these loud and inconsiderate people. One or two nights are fine but not for long term. Be aware, if you need to change your plans for long term, even if you made them way far in advance, you will not get your down payment back even though it was in the original contract. read more

We were driving down from Sedona and stopped at the other KOA in Black Canyon City -- horrible. We weren't given a code to the bathrooms or the wifi when we did a late check in, which was disappointing so we left 15 mins after we got there. We ended up coming to this KOA which was 90 mins away from the first one. Wow. What a clean site. It was such a relief to come here late and see that the owners really take pride in this site. The bathrooms were really clean and air conditioned :) There is a restaurant attached in the back, but we didn't try it (ran out of time) but it's great to have that option! It's also a nice and quiet area on the edge of the mountains. Would definitely come again. read more

We had reservations for Tuesday, Sept 22 and we arrived after posted check-in time to find that the office was closed and our site was not accessible because the campground roads were being sprayed with oil. We attempted to find another way to get to our site, but were unsuccessful. Eventually, the owner/manager arrived on a golf cart and unapologetically stated that they need time to maintain the roads, and that people just need to understand. He further stated that he had hoped we would have showed up late. We paid for a patio site and the only other available sites were not appealing. The owner was unaccommodating and became surly and very unfriendly when we told him that we wanted a refund. He accused us of being unreasonable. We stay at KOAs often and haven't encountered an owner like this previously. This won't taint our view of KOA, but we certainly want to warn others of this unfriendly location. We've found that other KOAs proactively notify you via telephone call, email or text of news and situations prior to arrival. The management of this location doesn't seem to care enough about your business to extend this courtesy. read more

This was a bittersweet place for us to stay, as we planned to go to the Tortilla Flats on Tonto to camp and the site was closed. As a last resort, we paid $30 for a small patch of ground, about as hard as concrete and maybe four metres wide next to a variety of others. The toilets were clean and they had a laundromat on site which was very convenient, but i just cant shake that they charge $30 for a site like that. $20 would have been much more reasonable, and maybe $30 for a site with electricity. Debbie and Tim were very friendly. I think if you want to camp, go into Tonto where you can get primitive sites for free or sites with amenities for $15 at the Lost Dutchman, its a much better atmosphere up there and it doesnt cost an arm and a leg. read more

The staff was very friendly, the place was clean, and my kids enjoyed the playground, pool and rec. room. I would stay there again. There's a little road noise, but nothing bothersome. It's slim pickings in the area for family friendly RV parks, so if you're under 55, this is a good choice. read more

Loved this little gem in the desert. we have used KOA's for years (our fave is in san diego) so have had mulitiple experiences with different style sites. IF you are looking for an bouncing lots of activities people running all over the place campground you will probably Not like this one. that said, IF you are looking for Relaxed, clean, friendly & no hassle campsite this one is excellent. because of our very long drive the day we checked in we came in after 5pm. No problem! the staff were very helpful as we were pulling a brand new (to us) trailer & a bit concerned about parking or backing up in the thing- the one gentleman came out and guided my husband so that he was more confident in parking it in place. he also showed us how to use the hookups (we had only tented before this trip) everything was new to us & the help was greatly appreciated. its a fairly sparce campground as far as greenery goes & that seems to bother some people but its the Desert & just fine.. spotted a covey of quail from my window the first morning and several roadrunners - i found it just as nice as the koa near the grand canyon. ( which we loved!) as we were gone during the day i dont know if they had a restaurant or not - to us it didnt matter as there were food places easily accessed nearby. as well as gas. the only negatives we had were minor things - we had a problem online & had to call the park to get it straightened out which they did very quickly - and to be honest i would have wished the pool/jacuzzi were open later than 8pm. as i said - quite minor. all in all an excellent visit and we will go back. read more

This was our second time staying at this KOA. Our 1st time was Christmas Eve 2015. It was my husband, myself and our 15lb terrier, Sonic and we stayed in our camper van. This time (Christmas Eve 2016) it was the same crew except for the addition of our 5lb chihuahua, Señor. Every year we go to my husband's grandparents house in Valley of the Sun for Christmas. Since the area they live in is a "pet free" zone we have to stay off site with our dogs. (Which is fine with us because we love staying at camp sites.) We usually only stay for 1 night and then head to Eloy, AZ to stay with my mom for a couple days after Christmas. This year my mom decoded to let us go home with her motor home so we could borrow it for the winter and spring. This meant that we had to bring my compact car so we could tow it back with the motor home. Which also meant no camper van this year. So we decided to stay in a cabin. Luckily this Camp grounds is dog friendly and they have 2 cabins where pets are allowed. There was plenty of room in the cabin. It had a bench, a desk with a chair, hooks to hang jackets and leashes on, a free-standing plug-in radiator heater, a bunk bed, and a queen size bed. We had to bring sheets and pillows (which was expected). *Also, don't forget to bring towels. We forgot in 2015 and didn't remember that we had forgotten til 10pm and none of the stores around were selling towels that time of year and target was closed! DH dried off with a T-shirt and I used a T-towel I had in the van. Lol, we were making memories!* When we stayed it was chilly, it was Christmas Eve after all, and I was worried that staying in a cabin there might not be enough insulation. But with the heater we were more than comfortable, to my surprise :) There is also an air conditioner unit installed in the wall for the warmer months. Since 2015 they have re-done the dog run. It's still a little small but it is fenced in with a double gate, popper scoopers, doggie bags, and layed with sand that makes cleaning up after your pet supper easy. The grounds are well kept. The staff is friendly and helpful. The bathrooms/showers are clean. They even have a heated pool. And everyone staying there was friendly too! I would definitely recommend this KOA. read more

We camp often but this was the 1st time that we stayed at a KOA campground. It was very clean and quiet. We stayed in one of four cabins. There are bathrooms and showers. Small store with limited supplies but if you drive a few miles down the road you'll encounter plenty of shopping. Thankfully there was a heater because it was very cold. There is a heated pool and jacuzzi. Laundry facility as well. I wouldn't really recommend it for tent camping, the sites for tents are very small and sparse. But for rvs or the cabins definitely. read more

We stayed here last night and while the facilities themselves aren't that bad, the treatment we received there was downright horrible. After paying $30 for a tent site for one night we were looking forward to a relaxing evening in the pool and hot tub and pool. But they forgot to open the pool. After asking two people to pull the pool cover back, they begrudgingly sent out a guy to pull back the cover, all the while glaring at is like we were an inconvenience. Not to mention everything in the park closes at 8pm... Pool, media room, store, etc. because apparently no one stays up later than that around here. The next morning I asked for a late check out (the park is less than half full) and the lady at the front desk looked at me like I was out of my mind. I barely convinced her. After getting ready we still had 30 minutes left so we decided to take a dip in the pool. My partner left an item in the womans shower stall while we swam, when along comes the park Nazis: "you need to get this stuff out of the bathrooms because we're going to clean them" says he. "I can't go in there with your items in there, KOA rules". So she goes to get her items out and this creep of an employee follows her into the bathroom! I was livid. "aren't there some kind of park rules about being in the same bathroom as the opposite sex?" I ask only to receive a sneer in reply. I could go on, but needless to say I am very upset and plan to file a compliant with both the local BBB and KOA corporate offices, if not local law enforcement. These people are bigoted and unprofessional to the extreme and we will never be back. read more

Lovely, clean, everything you might need. We arrived late after a miserable day, and we're glad of the convenient late check in. They have a pool to cool off, and a hot tub that would be nice when it isn't 100°. The bathrooms were clean and we'll maintained, and the whole park had rather pretty desert landscaping. I registered two spots online, upon arriving we got an envelope that said "REGISTER AT THE OFFICE IN THE MORNING". They basically make you re-register all over again. We stayed at the Holbrook, AZ KOA the night before and nothing further was required for them after booking online: no "check-in" or "check-out", easy peasy. Here, we first booked two nights for us and a friend (2 spots). Then my husband reserved for another 5 nights!!! The next day he learned that our friend was actually leaving a day earlier than what we thought. Reported the mistake to the office, the lady did some typing on the computer and confirmed the space number then said NOTHING....I said "So, will the credit show up on the card or has the card not been charged yet??" She said flatly "It's already been paid for, we don't give refunds". WOW! That's a quick way to lose a return customer who just booked an extra 5 days!! Stuffy staff (mostly the women) odd feeling of the whole place. You feel watched and policed. They park their little golf carts facing forward at the front entrance and the pair (man and woman) sit it the cart like watch dogs. Another night a different couple took the job. Walking past any of them they don't speak to you unless you speak to them first. The park is nice enough but the landscaping is filled with prickly pear cactus and other cactus so watch your kids and pets. You hear traffic noise but it quiets down at night. Everything is pretty clean except the tops of the pool tiles (see picture) disgusting. It wouldn't take much to clean that black grime off. Showers in the Women's need new shower curtains. Every time you want to use the restroom or showers between 8:00-10:00am they're either cleaning them or sticking their nose in the bathroom saying "Housekeeping". I had two men wanting to do housekeeping twice while I was in the ladies restroom and shower between the hours of 8:00-10:00 am. They waited, but why do you have do housekeeping during the busiest hours?? I frequently travel to this part of Arizona and I won't return nor recommend this place. Some of the male staff were more friendly but it still has a creepy feel to the whole place. I can forgive a lot but the "no refund" for a future night due to date misunderstanding and acting like you granted it in the computer is over the top BAD BUSINESS!! I can see the "no refund" policy being activated after I stay the night and then complain that I got no sleep because of the loud traffic but otherwise, keep your CUSTOMERS happy or there will be none left to keep! read more

Stayed at a tent site for two nights. The terrain is nearly impossible to drive tent stakes into. It's small pebbles. Would suit tents better if it was softer. The tent sites are also very small with no fire pits - just a tiny charcoal grill. Bathrooms are small with only 3 showers and not very clean. Office hours could be better. Only open until 5 PM. It would be helpful to be open to at least 7 PM in case you need extra ice, charcoal or other supplies. Wouldn't stay here again. read more

Manager Is very very Rude if your not 55+ she will be rude. Diesels are not allowed in that camp ground trucks campers. Diesel you have to let it run for about 5 to 10 mins to let it warm up. I was leaving for work and had to let it warm up. Well someone whom was old didn't like it running and went to the office. They asked me to look at over flow parking and if I would like to park in over that it's open to do so. I went to look at the over flow parking and to be nice and respectful I parked in the over flow wow what a mistake. The manager went off on me said I was holding up two sites I was very nice and tried to explain to the Manager that I was asked to go check out over flow and if I wanted to park I could. They charge $44 for tent spot with out any hook ups. Over flow parking it's $45 plus tax and it's a parking lot. This camp ground is in the hood with a junk yard behide it. No actives for children and anything. Load of old rude people. Says you'll see wild horses on the camp ground lmao not even. 4 lane road on each side and in front of the koa. Not worth it. Also I went to get my company car so the truck would not run at all explained this to the manager. I was told not to come back. Also she kicked a young girl out of her tent she was 27 was next to me not bothering anyone. The office is full of 55 plus ladies whom don't like young people. When I lift the koa I counted at least 75 percent of the trucks and campers where Diesels but they are not allowed and that's why she said I had to leave. I was going to leave this place a 4-5 star review... but after the treatment I got on my last day I wish I could give them zero stars. They complimented me on being a good tenant and welcomed me back by my first name when I came back the second time within the month of October. I travel with my cat. On the last morning my cat hid in a covered area (very unlike him and I'm aware is my fault) but I couldn't get him to come out at first. He wasn't in a campsite, he was in a drainage area. I was sitting at a table in an unoccupied area (after giving them $500 for a crappy tent spot, which they gave me the worst spot when it was empty in the tent area). They threatened to call the cops and have me ARRESTED for sitting at a picnic table waiting for my cat. Even when I had permission from the office. They made me cry. Made me feel like shit. Treated a single female who is on her own like garbage. His name was John. They expected me to leave me cat in the wilderness.... When the tent area was nearly empty. They lied and said the picnic area where I was at was going to be occupied that evening. I went back late at night to get my cat (he jumped right in) and no one was there. Decent KOA. Terrible people working there. If John gives me a genuine apology I will consider changing my review. When I went back, they also gave the new tent person my crappy spot instead of a nicer one. Nice Park, host and staff very friendly. The sites are level and gravel. The restrooms and showers were very good. Laundry room was clean, only drawback is one dryer didn't work, so only had 2 dryers, with the park being full they should make it a priority to fix. Also they should not advertise WiFi, it very rarely worked, unless you wanted to use it in the middle of the night. It has taken me 5 or 6 times to try and post this because WiFi wouldn't stay up. read more

I recently booked a reservation with this KOA. Unfortunately, I had to cancel at the last minute and stay at another KOA due to extreme whether conditions. Fae, was very rude and refused to refunds money. Then I called corporate headquarters and talked to the sole operated who hung up in my face and told me that she has no control over the KOA's and she will not help me. I stayed at 6 different KOA's on My recent road trip and this one was very disappointing, First the tent spaces are a joke, especially next to some of the other KOA camp grounds we stayed at. But the thing that really angered Me was that they closed the bathrooms and hour before check out, for the entire hour and refused to let anyone in. That is bad practice. People need to use the bathroom and take showers, The fact that the guy in charge was rude and nasty about that fact makes it even worse. I will not come back to this KOA. read more

At first this place seemed fine. Pool, hot tub, clean bathrooms and showers. No fire pits. Worst part, we were kicked out of the pool, I have kids and believe this was the problem. A teenager with me is a lifeguard and my 8 year old was curious about how to save a life. My teenager took the pole down and pulled my son in one time, the manager pulled up and kicked us out instantly. Very very rude to my kids and to me. My five year old and eight left in tears. I've stayed at a lot of KOA's over the years. From the top of Washington to the East Coast KOA's. this one is pretty average. Its basically just a big sandbox parking lot. nothing real special about it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The sites were very clean. The sound level was very nice and quiet at night. The pull through sites are nice and wide if you have a slideout, if not they offer great room for chairs and BBQ's. Pool was clean. The only real bad thing I have to say about is the wifi, which is really nofi. its may as well not have wifi listed. it does not work most of the time, and when it does its so slow its worse than dial up (for those that remember dial up). I I think its an okay stop over, if I was traveling by and needed to stay a night or two I'd go with it. but for a destination place I'd pass it by for better RV locations. read more

Trust me--avoid this place. You would have a more satisfactory experience camping out in the local Walmart parking lot. I found the staff rude, suspicious, surly and at times downright confrontational. I am a new member to KOA (but not to camping or RVing) and did not have my card, but had my number; OMG, you would have thought I was a criminal, the way the two women behind the counter eyed me up and down, despite presentation of drivers license, various credit cards, my reservation paperwork and even my passport. FWIW, my sister and I (both of us in our fifties and successful professionals) were camping in my Roadtrek Class B RV. The clerk sniffed that she would have to put in a different spot than originally allotted as we didn't have a "real" motorhome. Frankly, it would not have mattered where they parked us; the campground has the boring monotony of a high prairie truck stop, with shabby landscaping and faded and tattered fencing creaking in the wind; all the supposed amenities are locked down tighter than a drum. And Lord forbid if you have kids--this is the most kid (let alone adult . . . wait, human) unfriendly place I have ever seen. All the charm of an abandoned concentration camp, so to speak. But wait . . . once assigned the precious spot for my non-real motorhome, the staff came tearing back out to move us again, as the site was already rented. Really? There were three other rigs in the park with at least fifty empty spots. So, we moved again, and no apology from the front desk; and no one ever showed up for the spot we were evicted from Add to that a weird maintenance (he makes Norman Bates look ordinary!) guy who trailed us constantly both on foot and in his golf cart . . . well, I would worry about my and my family's safety in this weird place. The campground and bathrooms were clean but I had a problem with the following: the curtains in our cabin didn't fit the window properly and didn't provide full privacy, no fire pit, and their laundry room closed at 9pm and opened at 8am. Other than that, the campground is centrally located to a lot of attractions and it was very quiet. read more

Beautiful deluxe site with barbecue and brand-new patio furniture I highly recommend that spot I believe they had four I stayed there for the weekend but wished I could stay longer view of the mountains was spectacular. Very nice campground. We love coming here on our one night trips as we are locals. I can't back up previous statements about the staff being rude. I have never experienced that. I have never experienced the facilities not open. Late check outs? This isn't a hotel and they have a business to run, one should never ask for a late checkout for free, that's just ridiculous. As far as the other lady who cancelled 24 hours prior to her arrival the cancellation policy (which you agree too upon reserving) states 48 hours and it will cost you the entire nights deposit. read more

We stayed here for 2 weeks and had no complaints until they did road work in the park. We were not told in advance that we would not be able to get our vehicles out once the oil was put down. The next day they put another coat of oil down and we couldn't get out for 3 hours. The owner should have told the staff when this was going to happen so that they could have let us know in advance. The wifi is really bad so had to use my smart phone for Internet. All in all it is a nice, clean park with a nice staff. The owner is a jerk and rude. read more
