Honestly, in our 20 years of camping and staying at koa campgrounds I can say that this is the worst one yet. We requested to be next to the other person in our party months ago when we booked and was told no problem. Instead we were rows apart. Check in host (short blond hair lady) was extremely rude when we brought an issue with our site to her attention. Spots are not level. Be prepared to spend an hour leveling your rig. Other reviews mention this but camp host says they've never had a complaint. Sure buddy. The bathrooms are very outdated and smell like mildew. Playground is very empty and outdated. It had one single bench for parents to sit on. One swing set with 3 swings and a small merry go round. Some major improvements can be done here since this is a family campground. I have never seen a koa without a play structure for the kids. Long term guest leave their dogs in their campers all day barking and management doesn't care. Also stay clear of the middle dryer if you plan on doing laundry. I had to run it three times at $2.25 for a 25 min cycle to dry the small load of laundry I did. Don't try to follow the map posted outside the office as it's wrong. There are basketball hoops and a horseshoe setup but they are in a very poor location- they would be much better up by the playground vs in the back by the dumpster. When we brought our concerns regarding the extremely un level sites and rude workers to koa corporate they brushed it off with the excuse "each koa is individually owned and operated" but yet they carry the koa name and drag it thru the mud. I will not be renewing our KOA membership after this experience and will make it a priority to try to not stay at KOAs after this. read more

What a great place truly is a resort. Can't wait to return. Incredibly clean. Nice pools nice dog park lots to do.

After booking months in advance and requesting to be next to our friends, we arrived to find we were on opposite ends of the park. I had even called 2 weeks prior to confirm we were in buddy sites and told that we were. On the second day we were there, the park cleared out and I asked again if they could move us to a site next to our friends and they refused to even look to see if there were any available. I found out on the last day that they DID had sites available next to our friends. Being across the park from our friends made for a very unpleasant weekend and ruined the plans we had. The females at the front desk were rude and didn't even care to help us. Poor customer service! Also the park is one of the worst KOA's I've been to. No WiiFii to stream and horrible water pressure. It was basically a dirt lot without near the amenities as other KOA's! read more

The main reason we booked to camp was because of the heated pool and spa. The spa was completely out of order. We were not alerted of this before our stay because we would've canceled the reservation. The pool was extremely gross, completely green and upkept. (See attached photo.) I'm not sure why this is acceptable. We did not feel it was safe or even sanitary to swim. We had a very disappointed kid....and parents. Again, this was one of the main reasons we came. The pool was finally drained yesterday...again unavailable to use. The showers turn quite cold anytime someone flushes the toilet or showers at the same time. This was irritating, but especially when you have a small child screaming every time it happened. Overall, we were disappointed with our experience. It was mostly due to the spa and pool being unavailable. The staff was overall very friendly and helpful. So we appreciated that. I emailed the company, and they just said that they were working on getting the pool up and running and "we do not do refunds." Terrible customer service. read more

We stopped in for a single overnight stay as we were passing through to points further east. We arrived much later than planned during some rainy weather. We pulled into the large driveway, and before I could step out to go find our packet there was a young woman hustling her way to my truck with a clipboard in hand. She took my name to confirm the reservation, and then asked me to follow her to our campsite. This was the first time at a KOA where I wasn't just given a map and a site number, which given it was dark and raining was really helpful. We followed the very upbeat woman as she drove her golf cart to our spot and then helped me verify that I was roughly centered and that I liked the location. We had good hookups, with plenty of water pressure. (Regulator was set to 60psi and that's what we had). The dog park was just down from our spot and had double gates to prevent escapes and sat adjacent to another open area that we used to exercise our pup a bit. read more

Our stay was outstanding. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and efficient. The facilities were clean and up to our expectations as we always try to stay at KOA campgrounds when available due to the reliable conditions. Will stay here again when in the area. read more

As a lifelong tent camper we are fortunate to get our first RV. We were assigned to spot 57 and our RV could not auto-level there. We called the emergency number for permission to move across the way to an empty spot (no response from the night host at all). About 2:00 am we gave up on the night host, moved, leveled and went to sleep. All of our contracts and the KOA space number was in our window. The next morning, we were awakened by a laugh knock. A male KOA employee in a yellow shirt, white beard and straw hat yelled at me, "go up front and register." I tried to explain the night before, he cut me off. I asked if I could get my registration and contract from the window of the RV and he said "your paperwork means nothing to me, just go up front NOW and register." I could not get another word out before he put his hand up in my face said and said "lady, go to the front office and register." He then kept circling our campsite with his golf cart as we packed up. So short on sleep, we packed up three hours before our registration time was up, no breakfast and no shower, ran to the front office. Of course, by the time I got to the front office, they had heard about what happened from another employee and there was a lady there apologizing all over the place and saying the actions of their employee was wrong and inappropriate. She said in their defense, the night host should have called us back in the night (that's her job) and she should have called or left a note for them that we had moved across the way. (The park was about half full, tons of open spots). So one KOA employee jostles us out of our sleep, belittles and disrespects us, the KOA night host they say is new to the job and made a number of mistakes including never giving the morning crew a heads up regarding the night before. So KOA culture is: (1) do not talk to your paying customers, just yell at them and belittle them and (2) when you on board night hosts, you do not adequately train them in customer service. Joined KOA top membership, first RV, first road trip, first stop on the road trip and this was our first experience with KOA culture. read more

We, 4 disabled combat veterans, came to Phoenix from southwestern Colorado to get some sunshine and ride motorcycles. We have stayed at KOA campgrounds quite a lot so we booked 2 tent sites for 4 nights here. We arrived after the office had closed, each person had their own small one person tent. We set up 2 small tents per site. The next morning the KOA staff threatened to kick us out of the park because, unknown to us, they have a 1 tent per site policy. The sites were large. we are quiet and respectful. We have never had an issue at another KOA. The staff, Jackie and Debbie, were super rude about it and going to kick us out of the park. We ended up having to book 4 separate sites for 4 small tents and cost us around $700 for the stay. If we would have known this we would have booked a nice hotel instead. I stay at KOA campgrounds on a regular basis and have never been treated with such rudeness. Most KOAs are super accommodating and will work with you to figure something out, but not here. It was too late to cancel our reservations so we had no option but to pay for two extra sites for 4 nights each, on top of the 2 sites we had booked in advance. Also the toilets barely flush and the shower temp goes from hot to cold to hot to cold... I am never staying here again. This is the worst KOA I have ever been to and will not be going back. If I could give them a zero star rating I would. read more

Pulled in around 5:30pm. Staff member came and greeted me before I could even get out. Escorted me to my site. Everything was gravel but clearly dragged regularly. Only stayed for one night but place was very clean i closing bathrooms and pool area. Would definitely stay again! So reading past reviews I see the park has its faults. I had a two night stay reserved and tried to park / check in early. The male clerk, John said still checking out people and wanted me to come back. Made it sound like the park was full - the park was not even close to full and had over a dozen spaces open - I went back in and Aniko- the other clerk and wife it seems - said if I paid for another night I could stay. Come back at one. I asked what the big deal was ? Customer service ? You have space available why not let me get settled - after all - I leave early in AM. I took my money elsewhere as there are lots of choices. It is clear that customer service is not a thing at this location. They did not need my money and it is a shame that they treat people like this. A parking space on rocks is all it is - hotels let you in if they have room - and this KOA had room ! Just left here this morning. We were only there two nights. Didn't get pics except of my gnomes meeting another gnome We did use laundry. The bigger dryer works good and fast. Two smaller ones don't waste your time! They sucked. Looked like lots of activities were happening. Pizza party last night. Kids/Teens were having a wonderful time at the activities center both nights we were here. Very family friendly. About all I can tell you about it. I would stay here again! read more

Stayed here while visiting in-laws in Mesa. Closest we could get that allowed children (Mesa is very much 55+) Figured we can't go wrong with a KOA with kids. That was a mistake. Every morning I had to look at this and explain to my kids the difference between political support and profanity. When I emailed management I was told they have a right to support the president. The question wasn't politics it was display of obscene language. I am far from a prude but didn't need it shoved in our face everyday. Might be out last stay at a KOA. read more

The wifi is really poor, the sites are not level and there is an old man in a golf cart with a God complex who will scream at you if you drive to your site without him as an escort. When I pulled in to check in there was a rig in front of me so I left enough space to leave the lane and go to my site in case the rig in front of me wasn't done checking in before I was. The guy in the cart told me to pull all the way forward. I complied. Sure enough I was done checking in before the rig in front and had to back up to get out of the lane and go to my site. That's when the guy started shouting me down ordering me to wait for him to escort me to my site. As if I'm too dumb to go there and park on my own after receiving a map with a sharpy pen line showing me the way. read more

VERY WELL maintained park!! Spaces are larger than the normal rv park, you don't feel like you are best friends with your neighbors. Staff rakes each site after each guest leaves Staffing was pleasant. I don't give it more stars because the sites are not level it appeared like the outside edge back in sites where pretty level but very few pull through sites where. read more

The staff are very helpful and welcoming. Very nice RV park with a huge public patio and game room. Pizza is available and very good.

We moved to Arizona and decided to stay in our 5th wheel until we figured out where we wanted to land. We stayed here for several months. They were very accommodating. We did have to move a few times but it all worked out for the length of our stay. They even gave us a bigger spot to park our boat in site. We did have a few power issues at the time of stay which they were updating at the time of our stay (over a year ago) this review is a little late. The power couldn't maintain in the heat. One day it even caught fire thankfully we were awake and caught it. They were fixing all of this before we left. The pool and grounds were always well taken care of. Laundry room always clean, store always stocked. Would highly recommend. read more

Worst RV park I have ever stayed at! We keep loosing electricity , I call the office and they say we don't know anything about it. Low water pressure! Sorry excuse for a dog park! It's just a dirt lot, no grass. I asked if we could move to a lot that didn't have a reservation for next month because we are in the middle of relocating here and didn't want to keep anyone from their reserved lot in case we couldn't get back by the first of the month. And Nancy in the office said I would have to pay the daily rate for the other lot even though I just paid the monthly payment in full for my lot. Totally unwilling to work with me. Most expensive RV camp we've ever used let alone KOA camp. No cable, bogus WI Fi. Simply not worth the money.

I stayed here for 3 nights while in Chandler for a conference. The first two nights I had no power in my travel trailer. I checked all my breakers, my battery, and tried hooking my power up to the open spot next to me. I still had no power, couldn't turn my water pump on or turn my water heater on. I also was unable to warm up any of my food in my microwave oven. I was left to shower in their showers at the campground and was using a Duracell flashlight to walk around my trailer at night. I finally called the front desk to tell them about it and they sent someone out to fix it. When I got back from my conference at night I finally had power. I called the day I left and asked if there was any way I could be accommodated for the two nights I didn't have power. The lady on the phone was extremely rude and I empathetic and told me "no there's not, there's nothing we can do." I just don't feel it's right to charge people for something you promise and don't deliver. Being a small business owner I would never feel right taking someone's money for a sub par service. read more

This is a well kept park. The staff was very helpful and friendly. As other reviewers have mentioned, the Wi-Fi is sketchy but we were told that in advance. The location is excellent, easy to maneuver my big rig and close to a variety of attractions as well as restaurants and shopping. It was clean and well maintained. My only reason for only 4 stars is that yes the water pressure was not great. I just wish I could give a 4 and 1/2 stars. I'd definitely camp here again. read more

the worst rv park i stayed at in the whole United States. this park was dirty not well kept or clean for the price you pay. the staff are absolutely horrible they hate there lives so they take it out on you and treat you very poorly even if you treat them with kindness. I never had a worse experience ever before this park. I'd rather sleep in a dumpster then stay at this park again because how filthy it was also how terrible the staff was I was extremely shocked I called corprate to investigate the staff that they chose at this location because how awful they were bullying and picking on people I felt like I was in high school. They were unprofessional and not mature at all. I'm very shocked at this campground I wouldn't suggest anyone to stay here. Every campground has staff with golf carts, but at this campground specifically they stalk you and they watch you to the point they make you feel very uncomfortable. we had planned to be here for a week and realized we were going to be late rather then the time we planned. we called them ahead of time and told them when we were going to show up. they agreedef and said they had no problem with that at all. the day we showed up no one was there to help us to our site who tell us the site we got. no body was there and when we called no one answered. we had to sit there for an hour and still nothing after a 6 hour drive. we booked another camp site and left. the minute we got in the koa called us and canceled our stay. If the campgrounds of America didn't accept us last minute we would have no where to go. Do not recommend. read more

There is no shade, no fire pit, no privacy. The night watchman is a total prick. The road is very loud. The pool lights blared through the tent all night. Sites are convenient and there is a nice rec room. Feels like your in a rural area and you can hear the coyotes at night but it is close to any businesses you might need. Nice area. Absolutely worst experience ever! Got here super late in the middle of the night exhausted from driving over 9 hours. Decided we would stay here instead of a hotel overnight. There was absolutely no parking space What so ever so we decided to take the only space available. woke up in the morning to annoying children approximately 6 of them being really loud at 6 in the morning. Went to use the restroom after being told to "hurry it up" cause they're about to clean. Which is understandable. Went to the front clerk to pay which seemed okay at first. When the older senior citizen aged woman ask me how she could help me, we politely explained that we're here to pay for a night of parking. we explain to that there was only one spot left available so in order to not be rude and being anyone's way, we parked there. The senior citizen age to women then explain that "well we don't do that here just so you know, you're not allowed to park wherever you want" we then politely apologized and said that we now know and we're just wanting to pay for parking. The senior citizen age do women " well now you're going to get charged for stuff you didn't even use, so yeah now you do know for next time." She then proceeded to charge my husband $80 for overnight parking, which by the way, we were only there 8 hours of. We paid anyways and politely left to leave the premises. In the middle of warming up the car to leave, by the way it was 40° this night, the same woman angrily stomped her way to my a vehicle. Gave me an ugly Graham right through my mirror and yelled at me, " you need to get out of here right now!" "and by the way this isn't the right spot if I knew you were here this would have made a huge difference in my book!!!" ... We then politely left after apologizing again.... I have absolutely no idea of what we did to this woman and why she chose to be so ugly and rude towards us. This is definitely not a good impression on my first visit to this type of facility. I felt extremely attacked! .... I really hope that this had nothing to do with me being of Latin descent. As all the employees were Caucasian senior citizens. I hate to be the person to say people were being racist. But this has truly ruined my entire view of Arizona. I am completely disgusted. I never want to see that place or those workers ever again. I'm going to make sure to write more reviews about this on other sites. Premium pricing $90 a night for a "premium" site with an outdoor BBQ Area. The BBQ was filthy! Disgusting! We spent 2 hours and a trip to Home Depot to clean it. Then we fired it up and only 1 of the six burners worked. Contacted manager and was basically called a liar! Terrible customer service. Dirty little park on a very busy road with tons of traffic noise. Trash dumpsters overflowing and a generally sad ambiance. Also, the wifi sucks! read more

Stayed here passing through, wasn't impressed. Pulled in later afternoon and had to spend a fair amount of time levelling the Motorhome because the sites are not even close to level, wifi was subpar and pretty much unusable which is a big problem for us, if your looking to do laundry they have no change machines in the laundry room, which should be a pretty standard thing. Finally the power hooks up had signs saying do not turn off when that is usually the rule. You usually plug your rig into the stand with the breaker off then turn it on. For the most part we can deal with most, but terrible wifi just won't do. On a positive note, the staff are fantastic. read more

The three stars are for the facilities alone. The campground is very well maintained, with clean and roomy showers, very nice pool, lots of space on the sites, and the Kamping Kabin we stayed in was clean and maintained. The staff however, were rude consistently throughout the 5 days we were here. Don't be in the bathroom at 10:00am, they will run you out to clean. Even when asking a simple question of how long they have been a Journey KOA got a sarcastic answer. An exception to this group is Heather. She was incredibly friendly and a pleasure to interact with. She was the only staff that would smile at you as she drove by on her golf cart, the others would just stare and frown. Also, if you are a snowbird, avoid this KOA. Friends that we made at the pool talked about how the snowbird group is very cliquey and not very welcoming. read more

Stayed here last night. Had a premium pull through site. Kids enjoyed the pool and the playground. They ride bikes around the complex and had a great time. Showers and restrooms were clean. The people in the office were very friendly and recommended local places of interest. Overall great stay. Would stay here again. read more
