This truly felt like a factory: 15 to 20 people lined up in reclining chairs in the area where eyedrops are administered and patients are prepared for surgery. Nurses, orderlies did not generally introduce themselves and tell me their position or tell me exactly what they were going to be doing to me. Surgeons and anesthesiologists were generally more consistent with the introductory information. One orderly-I guess that's what he was; he didn't give me his name or tell me anything about what he was doing until I said in alarm at how rough he was "what are you doing?" -Was charged with moving me into the operating room. no introduction, no explanation of what was happening, just rough handling. I can only hope and assume that the surgery was top-notch done by my regular ophthalmologist from Lexington Eye Associates. The paper/evaluation that they give you after all of the procedures to evaluate the service is woefully inadequate; an envelope is not even included so that the patient would have to take initiative to mail this back. Clearly either Lexington eye associates or the Surgisite facility itself does not put patient satisfaction at the center of their operations. I heartily do NOT recommend Surgisite as the place to have your cataract surgery.

Yelp is hardly the source for medical procedure opinions but while ranking a recent restaurant…read morevisit (great food and service), I could not ignore the other review. That said, I had a ptosis procedure performed recently and could not be more satisfied for the following reasons - everyone involved was diligent, strictly followed every medical protocol without exception ( both pre and COVID associated ) - dr Freitag explained everything from start to finish to alleviate any potential surgical associated patient anxiety (none here but clearly well thought out and executed) - while patient visit waiting times seemed long at times, this reflects sufficient time and attention devoted to each patient rather than "lounging around" time. I'm sure that dr Freitag has no desire to lengthen her workday any longer than necessary - deep thinking and extensive experience/ reflection on the best clinical approach could be interpreted as distanced or uncaring but that is not an accurate situation assessment So I wish folks would think twice before writing these opinions. Whether taught in law school, business, or in life words, once written an disseminated, cannot be undone. We are dealing with an md whose career is potentially affected by such comments so greater thought and deliberation are appropriate before publishing. Best to leave yelp opinions for restaurants and speak to the medical staff directly if you are concerned , disappointed, or have any doubts about either treatment or outcome

This review is so long overdue! I have been a patient of Dr. Shriber for at least 15 years. Most…read morerelationships don't even last that long, but the Doc and I have a good thing going, and I'm in it for the long haul. His office is very clean and has the latest diagnostic equipment. His secretary, Sasha, is super friendly, and Dr. Shriber is by far one of the kindest, most patient doctors you will ever meet. I'm not saying that I'm fussy, but when it comes to him asking me, "Which is better, 1 or 2? How about now, 1 or 2?". My response is always, "Can you do it again, Doc?" I don't know why. It's as if my eyes are always playing tricks on me. But his patience goes beyond the examinations. I swear it knows no bounds. I work on airplanes and once you hit 30,000 feet, these planes will suck all the moisture out of your body. And that extends to your eyes making your contact lenses uncomfortable to wear. Why not wear glasses then? I'm too vain. Anyway, there are contact lenses out there that advertise they are perfect for dry eyes. Over the years, I find them to be outright lies. So a couple of years ago, Dr. Shriber had me try a different pair every couple of weeks until I felt the contacts held enough moisture for my long haul flights. I remember saying to him, "Really? Aren't you going to get sick of seeing me?" No, he just wanted me to be happy with them. I went back 4 times before I finally placed my order. My last visit was a couple of weeks ago. 15 years later, I still LOVE going to this man. He is knowledgeable, generous, funny, and he also takes most insurance (if not all). Tons of street parking and a cheap public lot in the back ($ .50 an hour). If you need glasses, his office is connected to Gordon Optical which is run by his brother. So the next time you need an eye exam, look no further!! I give Dr. Yale Shriber a 10-Star review!

Sometimes, that makes you feel better and is more needed than the treatments! At a time when I feared losing my vision due to macular degeneration, she was reassuring and supportive , and always answers my never ending list of questions, and with patience. Another side of Dr. Sang that I recently learned about is her mentorship. There are a group of young college grads working there who are taking a gap year and preparing to get into medical school. She is so giving and proud of how many of these interns have gone on to great careers. Each time you go for an appointment, it's a "major production." There are so many steps in the process and I have come to understand why it takes so long -- they take no shortcuts! There is a huge staff that supports Dr. Sang and each one has a specialty, from the people who answer the phone and make appts. to the people who do complicated eye scans. I don't envy the appt. people as everyone seems to want a different time -- including me -- and it's hard to make everyone happy, although they try. I guess my only complaint is that I wish I could turn back Dr. Sang's clock about 25 years so that she'd be in practice for another 25+ years. While she is around, I feel incredibly lucky for her to be my doctor!
