Scammed out of over 300 dollars! We are moving across the county. They came in and they broke my microwave door and said it had pre-existing issues. WHAT?! Terrible place to work. I left such an amazing job that treated me like family because I was promised this was a great establishment. On my second day I was made to cry by my trainor, and cried literally every day following. I was told we don't clean biohazard items such as human feces, working in houses with mold and insects, etc... Yet my second week there we were in a house with trash so over the floors that you had to walk on to get around, dishes piled up all over counter tops and in sink with mold and maggots in sink, poo all over the toilet I was cleaning and on floor by toilet... The two trainor's I was with told me that it's in this condition every time they come to that house. Not to mention not even 30 minutes into working in this house, all THREE OF US started having skin reactions from being in the house. My trainor's (trying not to say names to avoid any legal issues) would always be so rude to me while in houses and yell at me over stupid things, constantly making me feel like I wasn't competent enough to do the job, and would scold me in front of clients which is just embarrassing!!! I have my own cleaning business on the side and there's not a chance in h3ll I would ever scold one of the people I hire to come with me to clean in front of a client! I accidentally ripped the cord of a vacuum out of the wall and she made it seem as if I did it on purpose. Then would constantly be on her phone taking personal calls or hide in bathroom to be on her phone and accuse me of being the reason we were taking so long in homes although my work would be done before hers. Or try to say I'm the reason she still wasn't finished with her job in the houses. I finally got sick of always being the one to be accused for being late to the next house, and being treated like garbage. Not to mention she expected me to be perfect at this job literally my first day in the field. I know HOW to clean, but obviously needed time to learn their way of cleaning and that's something this company just couldn't seem to understand. I remember telling her the first time I cried how I felt like I made a mistake leaving my other job for this one, and she lectured me about quitting before two weeks because then SHE wouldn't get a raise or a bonus. Why should I care about her getting a raise, when these two girls would get all the tips and not even share it with me? Why don't I get tips when I am also working, and not to mention also driving my vehicle to work everyday? When I finally quit, and brought these things up to the office lady (let's just say boss) she basically brushed me off and gave ME a lecture when I was already nearly in tears yet again from the stress her employee brought on me and crap that employee put me through. The two housekeepers I was with would always talk trash about the clients they had for the day, and whine and complain over the dumbest things that weren't even a big deal. TL;DR: They are shady and their rates are just way too high. Find a company where the workers own the business and you're paying straight to them. Do not believe the high ratings. This company pays their workers WAY less than what they are charging per hour. This allows the workers to "milk" their time cleaning your home so that Merry maids can hopefully pay them more. The amount you are charged doesn't go straight to the workers, it goes to the company. In my case, my house was not that dirty. I was promised over the phone that my house would be cleaned in 3 hours based off square footage. That was a lie. Instead, the cleaning duo cleaned only my upstairs in that amount of time, yeah, it looked decent, but I have to say, I could've done what they did myself in an hour TOPS. During their tail end of their cleaning, they couldn't get a hold of anyone from the office to see what to do next. They called me to check and see what I wanted to do instead. When I came back to see they're progress, I was confused. I wanted to have them finish for what I was paying out or I wanted them to leave right there. They had a little time left in the 3 hours I was promised. So, I asked that they tried to finish while we tried to get a hold of their main office. Shortly after leaving, I received a phone call and was told they won't finish and I said to stop their team. They charged me 725 dollars. That's for 2 people for 3 hours of work for what SHOULD'VE been for around 1800 sq ft of a home. Let's go further... I told them I had a discrepancy with the price (good luck getting a hold of them). They gave me back 20% after attempting to reach out the second time. No phone call back to discuss it or agree, only an email. I tried to discuss further through that email, no response. Terrible company. I walked into my son's new home & could not believe that anyone with any type of cleaning ability had even been there. My very pregnant daughter-in-law was tearfully cleaning the refrigerator herself & she and my son spent the first night in their new home having to stay up until 2:30 in the morning doing their own cleaning. When I spoke to the Merry Maids representative, I was told that it was the previous owner's fault the house wasn't cleaned. No accountability whatsoever was taken on their part, even though the reason they couldn't complete the job was because the cleaners moved so slowly that about all they allowed themselves time to do was run a vacuum around. No apologies for a lousy job were offered, no offers to redo, nothing. Merry Maids happily takes your money, but they take no pride in their work. If you like to throw your money away, hire this company, but if you want a clean home, call someone else. read more

They came to my home. One woman sat outside on our bricks and called her supervisor and said she could not handle the job. She did this in front of me. She continued to complain about the job she had to do in our home. Our upstairs was clear and orderly. She was concerned about our basement that had more stuff in it but all the stuff in the basement was boxed and also orderly. This was located in the family room only. One other broke a Unicorn and we were told that would be replaced. It never was. We were terribly disappointed with this service and would never call them back. They still owe my daughter a unicorn. read more

This was a terrible experience. I purchased 5 hours of the move out clean. I came back after 4 hours and very little work done. I called the supervisor and she was less than helpful. I question the task that were listed on the move out clean such as wiping the inside of cupboards and cabinets. And she said if I didn't prioritize it wouldn't be done. After 4 hours the floors weren't done, the cabinets weren't done in the kitchen and the bathroom. When I came back there was no one at my house my house was open they had gone and taken a break. The bottom drawer of the oven was dirty, the top of the refrigerator was filthy. And because I'm selling my home I needed these things done that I thought I had purchased in the move out clean 5 hours for $600. Then the supervisor tells me that I need to authorize more time and they charge me over $800 now. I believe the 1st 4 hours was frittered away. And then I was charged additional time for them to do the task that was actually listed as the move out clean. I would never hire merry maids again. read more

We purchased a new home that we wanted thoroughly cleaned before moving in. We got a quote from Merry Maids of Tumwater for two cleaners at $145/hour with an estimate of 6-8 hours to complete the job. I honestly thought that was an optimistic length of time and expected longer. The two housekeepers that showed up told my wife that there were only to spend 6 hours cleaning before they were to leave. They only spent 4 hours cleaning and then left. Honestly, the job was terrible. The blinds weren't touched and were filthy. They were supposed to clean the outside of all the cabinets, but there was a visible layer of dust on the upstairs bathroom cabinet on the end. The shower doors looked good, but there remained a thick layer of dust on the area above the doors. The stainless steel refrigerator had more streaks after they cleaned than before and the dishwasher's exterior was equally bad. The outside of the oven and microwave was good, however. Window sills were lightly cleaned, but no attention to any area that wasn't easy to clean like the corners. They were supposed to clean interior windows, but they missed several while others looked pretty good. Dusting was hit or miss where a couple of high shelves that were dusted completely missed areas on the shelf and remained coated with a thick layer of dust. For $145/hour I was expecting superior cleaning but what I got was the worst house cleaning that I have ever seen (and I have used several in the past). We ended up having to redo most of what they did along with the cleaning of areas that they never touched that should have been done. The manager offered to send the crew back out and didn't know why they only spent half as much time there as we told would be needed to clean the home (about 3,000 sq ft). Considering how poor the cleaning was that was done we declined to have them come out again. I have NEVER spent anywhere close to $72.50/hr for a housekeeper and have never had one do such a poor job. There was absolutely no attention to detail cleaning whatsoever much less the obvious that was missed or poorly cleaned. read more

They really exceeded our expectations with special touches, like arranging my daughters playpen and draping our couches with our throws and pillows. Total no show. On Thursday I called to make an appointment. Was told the cleaners would arrive at 11 on Saturday. 11:15 on Saturday and no one had arrived so I called and was told they were on their way. 11:30 still no one so called to cancel the appointment (we had to be out by 2) and was told a manager would call me back. Someone did call me back and I repeated that I wanted the appointment cancelled and not to bill my credit card. At noon I got a call from someone else saying "Oops, I see we had an appointment with you at 11....sorry." At that point sorry didn't cut it. Instead of being at her new home unpacking, my DIL and I were scurrying to clean the house ourselves before the new owners moved in. Got on-line last night and guess what? They had billed my credit card!! This was my first...and last...experience with this company. read more

Merry Maids of Tumwater is the biggest rip-off in the area. I have repeatedly been disappointed with their lack of service and no attention to detail. Basically they change me $130 every other week and come in a do a half ass job of cleaning and have all sorts of excuses for not doing things. I just had my first cleaning today and I am totally blown away. Lindsay and Gladys showed up early (after calling to make sure it was okay) and did such a thorough job, I don't know if I my house has ever been this clean. They cleaned every corner, crevice, baseboard, got the stains out of the grout in my shower (I had tried everything on them!) and got my kitchen floor cleaner than I've seen it in years. The kitchen counters and cabinets look amazing, the stove, fridge and sinks all sparkle. I have never seen such attention to detail. Not only that, they were delightful people. They worked tirelessly almost all day and were upbeat, funny and a pleasure to have around. They even made fast friends with my cats, which was super sweet! When I went to wash the dishes to get them out of their way, Lindsay let me know that they would do that from now on and they gave me some great cleaning tips to solve some of my ongoing challenges, too. These folks clearly take their jobs seriously and take pride in their work. They bring all of their own supplies and really care about doing a great job. They checked with me often during the day to make sure they hadn't missed anything, and I was really impressed when they sent someone by (Nicole?) to check the quality of the work before they finished up. I highly recommend Merry Maids, especially Lindsay and Gladys, as well as Ashley who showed up to help in the afternoon. I really look forward to having them come regularly. I could not be happier with the job they did, they exceeded all expectations and then some. read more

Truly an excellent job. The young women who came to clean were well trained to pay attention to details and also were open to suggestions (such as using my supplied Swiffer to get the tops of drapes and closet shelves). I am very happy with what they accomplished and highly recommend their service. Price wise it is more than what I was used to paying but the difference in quality is substantial!! read more

Theeeeeee worst service, and they get you stuck into a year long contract that you cant get out of, without paying huge fees!!! Well, made it thru the contract period and Im OUT!!!! Would not recommend them to clean my dog pen. Nice girls, bad management and ownership. They reward the girls if theyre done with a place in less than an hour, instead of rewarding good service. On more than one occassion, I had to clean after they left. Never again. read more

Do you do a deep Spring cleaning? I noticed that a lot of my shoes have dust on them a long with the racks they sit on in my walk in closet. Do you also ever use a stiff broom to loosen dirt along the base boards then vacumed up the dust? Anyway, what would that cost or can you skip doing something else and concentrate on that once. read more
