    Portobello Benedict
    Melissa T.

Just had brunch here today and had a great time! It's a really cute place and the servers/ staff were all friendly, the food selection was great and fun brunch drinks. I got the portobello Benedict and it was delicious - nothing like simple things done right (perfect eggs, delicious mushrooms, the house potatoes are great). Definitely will be back.

Merriland Farm Cafe is such a charming cafe! It's nestled in a residential area right next to a golf course. They have a few seating options available: an outside patio, a "garden room" with high tops and bigger tables for groups, and a classic dining room area. The food was delicious and fresh! I'd recommend making a reservation or getting there when it opens as it can get busy and they may turn away walk-ins. Service was a little slow. Overall, I would recommend and visit again!

Everything is wonderful! The people, the food , the place, We have been here a few times now, it's tucked away in wells so oftentimes we forget about it. The food is fresh and delicious and their menu is great. They serve Coffee by Design coffee and today we ordered their pumpkin teabread! Yumm. The portobello and veggie omelette were delicious and the house potatoes were cooked perfectly well.

Pumpkin stuffed french toast - good filling, french toast is pretty basic

3.5 stars Vibe: Farm to table, cafe is next to a golf course Service: Everyone was very nice, the hostess was friendly and let us know that they were understaffed and was very accurate with the wait time, the waitress was clearly working very hard, one of our side dishes was missed and even though she quickly got it out to us she took it off the bill Food: We got breakfast, menu changes seasonally. Pumpkin stuffed french toast - the filling was very good, house made whipped cream was fine, french toast itself was very basic and brought the dish down. House hash - very close to what you get from a can but for me that's a win, very salty, textures of the corned beef and potatoes are great, definitely greasy House potatoes - solid texture, crispy outside with soft inside, salted well but no other seasoning made them a bit plain. Value: Portions were just right, food was solidly good but not great, service was great despite them being short staffed, I'd say just about on point/slightly overpriced. Other: It's a bit of a maze to find the hostess, you have to go around the back of the building, following half a dozen signs going through the restaurant to find it. Parking available although not a ton of it. Overall: I will probably try some new places the next time I'm in the area rather than come back here but it's not a bad place to go.

Stopped there for breakfast. Great menu choices. The eggs benedict with portobello were to die for! Crepes were delicious too. Don't miss this place!

Lobster Cake Benedict + heirloom white, purple, and sweet potato medley. SO, SO GOOD!

Despite the diner vibe the food here is fantastic! I was super surprised and completely delighted by how good the food was. Real farm-to-table food, locally sourced, and imaginatively and carefully crafted into delicious meals. The Lobster Cake Benedict came with an absolutely delicious Béarnaise sauce and heirloom white, purple, and sweet potatoes were the best - by far - breakfast potatoes I've ever had. Staff were super-friendly and very kind and helpful. Interesting old building in the middle of nowhere - not the easiest place to find and poor signage, but totally worth it once you get there! Get off the Highway 1 well-trodden path for a delightful and delicious breakfast alternative!!

Place got busier the later the morning got. Nice and quiet place off the beaten path

I am so disappointed to have to leave this review, as a Wells resident and frequent visitor of this restaurant. I made reservations for brunch over a month in advance for my bachelorette party August 17. I confirmed with the restaurant, even though we were playing phone tag. I got a confirmation for my party of 12 on Friday morning. When we arrive to the restaurant the morning of August 17, not only were we told that we would not be seated, the rude hostess proceeded to blame it on me. Rather than apologize, she said that she had been trying to call me for weeks, argued with me, and made it seem as if it were my fault that they could not accommodate our party. I am so very disappointed with this lack of service. I understand extenuating circumstances, the hostess said that several cooks had quit. Because my group of bachelorette party attendees was all dressed up, we took a photo of the 12 of us and the person taking our picture said, "be happy you didn't get seated, we've been here for 2 1/2 hours and don't have our food." It sounds like a failing business to me. I called them to try to rectify the situation before leaving this one star review and no one ever returned my call. I would stay away!

Delicious food, and amazing atmosphere. Indoor or out, the restaurant seating is super inviting. Things to note: Food was not fast. Which is ok, but know it ahead. I'm pretty sure our experience was not the norm, since our server snuck us a muffin on the house. To me this is telling of a good establishment, filled with people who care. If you want to sit outside (worth it), make a reservation. The burger did not come out as ordered (med rare, came out near well) but that could've been because it tasted like it was cooked on an actual charcoal grill. On the plus side: The poutine was outstanding, the sandwiches were on point, and pretty sure those epic rings were beer battered. We will eat here again, it's a pretty legit brunch place. They even have flights of mimosas!

Amazing food, great prices, and phenomenal vibes. We found Merriland Farm Cafe while looking for breakfast spots around Kennebunk. We wanted something quaint and outdoors, so this place was perfect. We made a reservation on OpenTable and arrived on time, on a Saturday morning. That's when we learned they get quite packed, so I totally recommend calling or going online to reserve a table. Even with a reservation, we had to wait around 15-20 mins to get a table. They seemed a bit understaffed, but even amidst the craziness the staff was friendly and attentive. The menu was quite extensive! We started our breakfast with their grilled blueberry muffin which was delicious. My partner and I both opted for the French Meat Pie Benedict and it was DIVINE. The eggs were cooked to perfection and the pie was so filling -- we left completely stuffed. It was so good. The coffee was also really good, and I appreciated the constant refills. Try to get a table outdoors if the weather permits -- it's just so nice on their patio. I totally recommend Merriland Farm Cafe. We can't wait to go back.

    Blueberry crepes

Best p Best breakfast and lunch place. the crepes with the blueberries and fresh whip cream. the Greek omelette! and the staff is wonderful.

Merriland Farm Cafe in Wells is a restaurant I just discovered after being a resident for 20+ years! Decided to find out where it was and try it for breakfast. I think it just became my new favorite place. So cozy with several fireplaces, friendly staff and great food! Adding a picture of my breakfast omelette that comes with potatoes and toast but I opted for a homemade blueberry muffin instead. They say you need reservations on weekends and in season so I guess others have discovered it too!

This place is well worth finding with your GPS. Quiet, calm, friendly little atmosphere with amazing food that was worth the weight. The food was delicious with some creativity (I was absolutely in love with that stuff French toast !) The prices are fairly reasonable as well. We went on a holiday weekend and it seemed like the servers were beyond busy, yet still attentive and friendly. I look forward to returning here.

We still love their smashburgers - you can get a signature one and you can build your own - they have really expanded options over the past 5 years. The chicken sandwiches are always so good. I recently discovered I loved the Jalapeño Popper Chicken sandwich. Their fries are always so great - especially if you have queso. Speaking of queso - one of the best things they have added to their appetizer menu...chips and queso- We love eating the leftover queso with our fries with our sandwiches. Chips have a lovely seasoning - sometimes a little heavy handed with flavor - but they are still delicious. I love their breadstick/pizza appetizer. it's more a focaccia bread and it's soooo good. Burger: I went with the Beast Mode, which comes with two patties, cheese, double bacon, "Hop sauce," crispy onions, pickles, and maybe more. Texturewise, I really liked the thickness and pliability, but this came at the expense of some crispness. I'll take that trade but same may not. I also really liked the bun, which is a seeded briochy model that's less dense than what I've had previously at Tuckaway. Overall, very good burger. Gimme some juiciness and it's a great burger. Good accompaniment to the burger. Chicken Tenders: I split a trio that came with fries and choice of sauce. These were huge and flattened, kinda like a chicken parm. Very crisp, well-seasoned, and juicy in spots, not-so-juicy in other spots. Good flavor on its own and in tandem with our hot honey (generous cup), dry rub (ditto), and both.
