Mike blocked our phone number as soon as the job was done, and never gave us the list of missing…read moreitems he promised. Furthermore, the installation job was problematic; the main kitchen counter was crooked and our other contractor had to fix it to put the countertop on. There were several other small issues as well. Overall, I'm sure he is an above average quality installer and was just under time pressure for our job, but blocking our number and communication is unprofessional enough that I can't give a higher rating. Were it not for that I probably would've given a four or five star rating.

I had Carlos and his team assemble our European style kitchen cabinets. They were made of finished…read morewood and lacquer cabinets. We sent our kitchen assembly instructions ahead of time to make sure they were aware. My overall sense is that Carlos is fairly capable and experienced but either his team or him are not as careful as we had damages to our finished wood toe kicks and our lacquer cabinets looked like they had been dragged over nails as they were being assembled. I didn't appreciate that they made 0 mention of it at all and I had to point it out. As the homeowner, I essentially had to baby sit them for 5 days through the install since it felt like they were incapable / unwilling to read the kitchen cabinet installation instructions in detail and I caught several mistakes early on during the cabinet assembly that made me hesitant to leave it unattended. Carlos's attitude was particularly bad through the entire experience as well. Always made it seem like we were inconveniencing him or being too nit picky even if we caught some mistakes. At one point, he even threatened to quit after the assembly but before the installation simply because he had underestimated the complexity of the project. We did have a 1 day delay due to some plumbing / electrical issues but that's pretty typical as far as kitchen cabinet installations go AFAIK. In the end, they were able to get all the kitchen cabinets installed, albeit with a lot of effort from my end due to the more custom nature of the project. The price was affordable and the work was solid (minus the scratches) but for me the bad attitude wasn't worth it.

They took about 1 hour to move an organized small studio and just under 2 hours to move my lesser organized 1 BR. These guys were optimal and had excellent strategizing and problem solving across all three buildings (which were all different). I submitted a project through Yelp to wall-mount a Swedish ladder, and Bay Assembly reached out to…read moreme first. My Yelp profile clearly shows my name and photo, so the claim that they had no way of knowing my gender isn't believable. They quoted me $575 for assembly and mounting, with me providing all the materials. When I said it was too high, they said they'd like to lower the price but $200 was too low for assembly and mounting. So I offered to assemble the ladder myself and only needed the mounting service. Instead of giving a new quote, the reply was: "If you think it's easy, you should do it yourself and save the money. Good luck with that." This wasn't a disagreement about price. They brought up lowering the price themselves, and when I reduced the scope of the job, they responded with sarcasm instead of a quote. For context, I've assembled all the furniture in my home myself, including a solid wood bed frame, solid wood electric adjustable standing desks, and 5-drawer solid wood dressers, etc. Other providers quoted around $400-475 for full assembly and mounting, and when I said I'd assemble it myself, they quoted $180-200 for mounting only. That's the normal way to handle it. Overpriced and unprofessional. It honestly felt like they saw I was a woman and assumed I didn't know anything, so they tried to overcharge me.

He was punctual and professional. He wore a mask and he also took his shoes off in the house without asking, which my wife was happy about. Not only did he fix the door handle (without having to actually replace the whole deadbolt/handle, which I feared), but when I told him the reason the handle broke - because of a problem with the lock - he then grabbed some more tools and fixed the underlying problem with the lock. The latter task took him longer than the original one, but he still only asked for his initially quoted price. How often does that happen?? David managed to fix what had been a huge headache for us in less than one morning.
