Furthermore, the installation job was problematic; the main kitchen counter was crooked and our other contractor had to fix it to put the countertop on. There were several other small issues as well. He returned my phone call the same day and got me scheduled for his next available appointment within a month. - He's exact. He reviewed the design I had with a fine toothed comb and made sure to ask me questions to figure out if it would meet my functional needs and made a number of great suggestions. He also identified a number of problems that the IKD designers just flat out missed. - He's a craftsman. We can knock IKEA quality all we want but let's be real, the reason why most IKEA stuff breaks is because of the people who build it (I'm looking at you and me). I was looking for a special size cabinet and CA was out of them, and had been for a while, so when ikea builder placed an add on facebook to go to NV to get them, I reached out to him. Apparently the cabinets came back in stock right after we connected (murphy's law). Even though I was signed up on the IKEA app to be alerted when they came in stock, I didn't get a notification from IKEA, but the ikea builder reached out and let me know they were in stock and I could buy directly from IKEA (even though it would mean lost business). I'm very impressed with his integrity! For the Ikea cabinets, he did our secondary kitchenette and garage cabinets. For EasyClosets, he did the build outs for all 5 of our closets including a big master closet. After working into almost 40% of the kitchen installation, we realized that IKEA recommended designers/planners gave us a bad design that would not work for our sink plumbing and we were really worried and we then needed a corner cabinet and IKEA did not have corner sink cabinet that is appropriate for our design. Mike then took some time, and came back with a hack for the corner cabinet and came in early the next day (before 8:30am on a weekend) to start working on that, and by that afternoon, I had the corner cabinet ready!
