With my odd size vanity requirement, they were able to quickly offer a 3 cabinet solution that covered my needs. They will also suggest a couple countertop places to shop for and ordering via Excelle gets you a 10% discount. I visited the shop multiple times and happy to report that the experience has been consistently pleasant. Good coffee, good music, sound advice and they are super patient to let us visualize the colors and styles with different samples. This was not a $20k or 30k job - it was much bigger. So we had to be absolutely sure of the craftsmanship, the customer service, and more. It had to be fully custom and absolutely world class quality to fit the quality of the home and kitchen remodel. Summary - they delivered beyond my absurdly high expectations. From the very start, my designer had a good feeling about Mike - he was very upfront and transparent, and his whole team was full of nice people. Shelly is very responsive and helpful even with the basic things - you can tell right away they care a lot about attention to detail and to customer service. We hired Mike over 5 others we considered, and he was the most expensive bid actually (not by too much, by about 5% more than the 2nd highest and about 10% more than the lowest). Hiring Dickinson Cabinetry proved to be one of the very best decisions we made in our 1 year long remodel. In the middle of supply chain issues and Covid, Mike was always honest about the timeline. It was a bit longer than I would have liked but that was no fault of Mike's - everything was delayed. But Mike was honest and helpful and level headed about it all. Then came the product and install date. Mike's team, led by Raul, came by for delivery right on time in the morning and let me just tell you - the QUALITY of these cabinets and the wood island is absolutely obvious. The craftsmanship is superb. If you know nothing about cabinets, even then it's obvious. That's the great thing about great things - everyone can tell it's great! Now here is where it starts to get really amazing. We had a few issues and changes requested. Joe was the man here - he was super helpful along with being such a nice guy. He must have come back 4 times - each time with a smile on his face and endless patience to get it perfect as I wanted it. Antonio did a great job fixing up every little nook and cranny I needed help with - just an awesome job. Some other cabinet makers might make nice cabinets. The Hyatt has nice hotel rooms, too. Mike, Joe, Antonio, Raul, Shelly - they are like the Four Seasons. Every little detail is world class. The most important space in our home deserved an expert -- and that was Mike. During the peak of COVID, I spoke with other kitchen installers including IKEA's recommended contractor, Traemund, but I was always disappointed. Some claimed to do custom work but didn't understand the product. Others knew everything about IKEA kitchens, but wouldn't work with me to hide a stackable washer and dryer inside a closed pantry. Mike was the only service provider willing to be creative and while sticking to IKEA's installation guidelines. From our first phone call, Mike clearly explained his policies and each of our responsibilities. He saved me time by revising my order to include unknown items that would have caused me to make several trips to IKEA. He was also flexible with my installation date considering IKEA's inventory issues at the time. When I finally received all my cabinets, Mike came to my home, setup designated work areas and began working fast! He was always punctual, responsive, and excellent at communicating what to expect. I'm used to contractors leaving to get supplies and tools in the middle of the day, but he always had everything he needed. And even though I left him alone to focus, we shared several jokes in passing that made the project enjoyable. Despite COVID setbacks, my experience was incredibly smooth. Mike was great! My boyfriend and I bought a dresser off of CB2 and could not figure out for the life of us why it wasn't fitting together properly. We also had two wall-mounted shelves and four pictures that needed hanging around the house. I struggled to find a furniture assembly service on the peninsula, so I was worried that having someone come over from the East Bay was going to be costly. I sent an email to Mike on a Sunday afternoon (fully expecting not to hear back until Monday at the earliest). He got back to me within 15 mins, and he was able to come over that night! The cost was extremely affordable and Mike was done with the whole job in about an hour (which included him having to take apart the dresser and reassemble it because I had put the glides on backwards...whoops). He had to do some unexpected extra work, and his added charges were modest and more than reasonable. We're extremely happy that we didn't use the services of someone who gave us a somewhat lower bid. We realize that they might well have made a mess of our kitchen cabinet layout (Ikea's measurement and design services that tweaked our pretty good to begin with design, had a number of modest but very significant problems--and Mike was able to notice these and figure out ways to make corrections efficiently, quickly and very effectively). Michael did a terrible job of installing a kitchen for my clients. I had to rebuild the back of the kitchen sink cabinet because, Michael cut 3" holes for the 1/2" water pipes, cut two holes because he missed with his first one on the 1 1/2" drain line and missed on both electrical boxes. When questioned on this he said it didn't matter and no-one ever complained. Well I'm complaining and warning people not to expect quality work from ikea builders. Mike was just awesome! His quality craftmanship and attention to details really helps with assembly furniture like Ikea. We had our kitchen remodeled and he assembled all ikea kitchen that we designed. We are very happy with the outcome. read more

It's exactly the kitchen I envisioned...light, clean, and complimentary to our early 1960's home. He gave us a couple of options for cabinet finishes with detailed quotes and helped us select an option within our budget. He's busy and couldn't start for 3 or 4 weeks which gave us time to select and order a new countertop/backsplash, sink, faucet, and hardware. His countertop subcontractor did an excellent cutting and installation job too. John's crew worked M-Th which gave us enough downtime during the construction that lasted about 3 weeks. He used the same two guys throughout the project. Ed and Mynor showed up on time everyday and were hardworking and neat. He gave us paint to match the cabinets and we painted the interiors to exactly match the Thermofoil wrapped doors and frames. After 20 years as a construction manager at K-12 schools, I can honestly say John is one of the best contractors I've worked with. He routinely texted and called and kept us informed of issues and solutions as they came up. Even while he was out of the country on a planned family vacation in the middle of our project! My coworker referred me to Woodface and told me they are his favorite vendor of all during his renovation and they are my favorite now. We looked all over the bay area for cabinet vendors but we failed to find one who could hit the right color and tone. (They were either too yellow or too brown for us) In my first visit to the Woodface office, George showed me a number of oil finish options and assured the they can match colors we wanted and offered me to tag along to the woodshop for the material purchase when I showed particular interest with the cuts. I was impressed already with how my coworker's kitchen turned out and after the meeting, I felt comfortable trusting Woodface with the biggest investment of the renovation. I'm extremely happy with the quality of materials they used, attention to details and solid craftmanship. They were able to fit the upper cabinets to the pitch of my vaulted ceiling. I hope the pictures do justice even though they are sitting on a bare subfloor right now. (I'll come back and update once the kitche is complete) George and the team are professional, very responsive and helpful. The whole months of initial comm, design and installation was a breeze. They were also very accommodating with delays and schedule changes from my part with construction delays. I love working with them and also ordered a custom L-shape bench for my breakfast nook. (Photos to come) and I'd definitely go back to them for more projects. Highly recommend!
