I met Julio in 2023 when I searched for plumbing services at the Home Depot website. At that time, I had an emergency service at the master bathroom. A few months later, I needed to replace the guest bathroom toilet and I called Julio who performed the job, although when I told friends how much I paid for the job, they advised me to get a second opinion next time as I overpaid for the service.
This week, the same guest bathroom toilet had a leak coming from the water tank (after it was installed in March 2023) and, as always, I called Julio to take a look at it. He came to our place on the same day, provided the initial assessment of the issue and went to get the part needed for the repair. At that point, the issue was a minor leak, and there was not a crack on the water tank or anything major. I did not have any issues when he mentioned he was going to replace the entire flushing assembly for something that seemed relatively minor. When he came back to start the repair, I asked him to provide me with the estimated price for the job. The price he provided me was unreasonable for the simple issue he diagnosed earlier, and I told him that I appreciated his time but that I would need a second opinion as I did not expect to spend hundreds of dollars for that type of repair. This was the first time I questioned his price estimate for a job, but he did not like that, and he made sure to tell me that in a very unprofessional way. I was disappointed/surprised by his attitude, but he decided to perform the service for a more reasonable price. After this unfortunate experience, the toilet continued to leak, so I called someone else, who fixed it for free as it was a simple issue to resolve. read more
