SUPER sweet guys! They helped me with my tires and didn't even charge me! Really appreciate their kindness!

Horrible service and got a job half-done! Very unprofessional and rude and don't have the skills to do the basic brake pad replacement job. My car's brake pad warning light was on and I took my car to the shell station on the island. Brad told me that I can leave the car there and he will let me know if he has time to work on it or need to order the part. Around noon, Brad called me that he did the front pads and but couldn't do the back as he doesn't have the meter. He didn't ask for authorization nor provided a quote. I went to pick up the car and he wasn't there. So I had to pay the ridiculous charge for a job the wasn't done. Called Brad this morning and he was rude and very unprofessional. I liked the previous owner or older gentleman. Brad ruined this shell station. read more

The man at the counter was extremely rude - I think he was the owner after reading previous reviews (large guy, light southern accent). The card machine at the pump was not working and I had to pay inside, after paying I attempted to pump the gas and the pump was clearly not working and I had to shut it off. I went inside to let the man know and he raised his voice and got in my face asking what I did and if the pump was shut off or not. I was really caught off guard, I've never had a customer service employee get so confrontational and as a woman in her early twenties I felt extremely uncomfortable being in the small store alone with him. I had to get refunded the amount I put in and had to re-swipe. After ringing me up he stormed around the corner and rolled his eyes and said "here I'll just do it now" like I don't know what the heck I'm doing - he started the pump for me and said "see". Don't get mad at the customer when your shitty pumps are old and don't work properly. It's pretty bad when you make someone feel that unsafe while they are just pumping gas. I came to Mercer Island Shell with a slow leaking tire. I've been here before with the same problem, and they were able to fix it up right away. Today was a different story. I showed them that my tire was low and had stated that there was a slow leak. The man working did not listen to me at all and started getting rather aggressive. I asked if he could check the tire for holes, to which he said "I could but no" and told me to come back in 24 hours. I was the only customer there at the time. Fast forward three hours, a friend (who is a man) decided to take my car back to the shell. Low and behold there was not only one, but two holes in the tire! The same mechanic gave him no trouble whatsoever. Don't come here if you are a woman or else you will be turned away. read more

Gas is 5% higher here than stations on the mainland, and you have to pay for air for your tires. They can't turn on the compressor from the store. read more

I've never written a review before. I've just never had the desire to give out my personal email address and go thru the hassle of signing up, but I also haven't seen such disrespect in a long time, and I feel the need to share my experience. Yesterday the owner, a heavy set man with white hair and a southern accent was very hostile and verbally abusive to a women (a complete stranger to me) because she was simply was having trouble pumping gas. She ended up crying because of how he was berating her. I intervened and he physically threatened me after telling me he was the owner and he can do what he wants. I stopped her for Gas because I was running low and it is near the freeway. The pump card reader had a sign that it was out of order -- so I went inside and gave the guy my card and said I was going to fill it up. I did, then went inside to pay. He said my card was declined. So I then gave him my other card. It was also declined. I asked him if he was sure something wasn't wring with his reader, because I knew for a fact that both of my cards were good. He said no, the reader has been fine all day. I stepped aside and started calling my credit card company, and and while doing so, noticed that the women behind me just had her card declined as well. And then people from out by the pumps started coming in and forming a line, saying that all of the readers were reading "network down". I reached my bank, and they said nothing was wrong with my card, and there was no record of any attempt to charge my card. I looked at the guy and said "well if your reader is down, can you run these cards manually?" and he said "no, we don't have a manual system". Then he realized 5 people were looking at him, and he reached under the counter and brought up a manual card reader. As he proceeded to run my card manually, I said "thought you said you didn't have a manual system". He got really pissed and said "I"m doing it manually now, are you happy!". The guy has a screw loose, and doesn't know how to operate his credit card system. Next time I need gas, I'll find a different gas station, but this guy has a monopoly at this exit, and knows it, so he probably doesn't care at all about good customer service. read more

This place is thee worst! Most expensive gas on the island, their bathroom is FILTHY and their air...oh the air! I paid nearly $4 total for air because it barely comes out, making sure you constantly have to feed it more cash to get a decent amount of air. Ridiculous. read more

Got gas several times in here because I had no choice (was running close to empty several times). I learned my lessons and would not come here anymore. The prices are ridiculously high.... usually 5-8% higher than all other places. read more

Brad has been our mechanic for more than 20 years and a variety of cars. He's never pushed for more expensive repairs than the car needs, and he's been terrific to deal with. He stands behind his work and he's referred us to very good work from other vendors when it's beyond his equipment. Costs have always been below dealers. No experience with the other issues with the station. Gas price is hooked to the Fred Meyer-QFC membership cards. 10 cents less than posted if you've accumulated points at either store. But gas overall at MI stations is more than many stations elsewhere in the area, so much is bought off island. read more

The owner of this gas station is HIGHLY volatile and dangerous. My wife was dropping off her car with Brad, the mechanic who leases space there. The owner, a rotund blond man began yelling at my wife for not moving her car quickly enough, physically confronted her, shook his finger in her face, scared her to death. When I brought her back to pay the bill and pick up her car, I told him what he did was inappropriate, not politely, but not physically, not swearing, not raising my voice, he suggested we get physical. I told him I do not initiate physical confrontation, but did not fear him. This man is absolutely nuts. I have lived on Mercer Island for over 50 years and never had even one verbal disagreement with any business owner, or employee here. BEWARE read more

I would not recommend this auto shop. We received terrible service from the employee on duty and were unfairly charged. We have been trying to get in touch with the manager for a month now, but apparently he is only available for a half hour window each day. There doesn't appear to be a way to reach him via email or voicemail, either. read more

Had them replace lower control arms on car. Was told alignment wasn't needed but car felt sloppy on the road so I took it to get aligned at Les Schwab. Alignment tech showed me how the control mount was installed upside down! read more

I left my credit card at this gas station and subsequently received six fraudulent charges at the station over the next few hours. The card was canceled, but it appears someone saw me enter my zip code (not Mercer Island) and then reused the card. I will not use this gas station again. read more

This place was a lose lose situation Beware! The idiot mechanic Ali put my brakes on backwards and destroyed my brand new rotors! He is going to get someone killed! After he did my brakes I took it back to him because when I applied the brakes it was grinding and sparking! And Ali said that was normal! So I took it to a different mechanic, he fixed it and confirmed that Ali put the brakes on backwards! I took a loss on the pads and one of brand new rotors that was destroyed and wasted much time sorting that issue out and was lucky to get only the labor cost back. Ali said he would no give me my money back so I had to go to the owner and show him the damaged parts and receipts to resolve that. This was a few years ago and I was not going to post anything about that until I found out that two of my friends had dangerous issues with his work also! So here it is! read more

I took a flat tire here for repair, it was $25 dollars insane expensive and they wouldn't even put the tire on the car, I had to drive back with the emergency tire on. I went to QFC to get some coffee and the owner yelled at me across the lot that he would charge me more. I guess he did. Outrageous expensive and abusive to customers hey if that's your thing this is your place. PS: Gas is outrageously high! read more
