Regardless, Tropical Tan decided to close my wife's account immediately and is now insisting on charging a new setup fee to reopen the account! This place is a scam! They'll do whatever they can to squeeze money out of you, and couldn't care less about their customers!

Unfortunately, these salons have a habit of closing up almost overnight, leaving customers (and more importantly package-holders) high and dry. Good luck getting a response from any complaints left ... you'd have better odds at winning Mega Millions lottery than hearing back from the owner. I was one of the customers left hanging when the location near Target closed its doors without notice in January 2016. I was actually looking forward to trying their new salon, which was SUPPOSED to have been open within a week or two. I thought it quite odd that most wouldn't close one salon down until the new one was open but, then again, I've never owned a business. I think it was more than five or six months that Soleil was off the grid and before they FINALLY opened the 75th Street location. No way was I going to hedge my bets with this company ... no matter how state-of-the-art the tanning units were. Doing a little investigating, I found that the owner was EVICTED from the PP location for non-payment of rent. Oddly enough, the same story applies for two past locations (Racine and the original Kenosha location on 18th Street). Strangely enough, the owner drives luxury automobiles everywhere while stiffing his customers wallets, quite infuriating! Not sure if the 75th Street store will disappear like the others ... but beware of Soleil ... the shadiest tan in town.

I asked the girl at the desk when my membership ended, and she told me September 19. I told her I wanted to cancel on the 19th and switch to buying the individual specials. Instead of honoring that, she canceled my membership immediately--without telling me that signing would end it that same day. If she had simply said, "If you sign now, it cancels today," I would have waited. It's common sense: why would I cut off my membership 15 days early when I was still planning to tan? I spoke with a manager, who said they talked to the owners, and I was told nothing could be done. After 7-8 years of loyalty, that response was disappointing. This situation could have been avoided with clear communication and respect for long-time customers. I have owned a business in Highland park for 30 yrs. I know how to treat my customers.

My favorite bed is the KBI and I had the pleasure of experiencing this bed on Memorial Day weekend. I decided to take advantage of a tanning special and boy am I glad I did. This bed had everything. I relaxed as if I had been tanning on the beach. The fans made me feel like it was a slight wind blowing across my body. Then halfway through the tan I was gently misted with water. Honestly I felt like I had taken a vacation. It was the escape I needed and I got a nice bronze tan for my first time on this bed. It even had red light bulbs alternating with the UV bulbs. I'm looking forward to returning back again.

Despite being a loyal customer for years, we have decided to seek hair care elsewhere after being…read moreinformed for the first time - ever - that "there is a 5 minute late policy" when my Husband pitched in to take my daughter to her appointment after I became violently sick. Her appointment was at 2 pm and my Husband arrived with her at 2:07 pm. They refused to see my young daughter through no fault of her own and without any advance notice of said policy. Had we known, I may have risked taking my daughter myself instead of requesting help from my Husband. I wanted to inform other customers in case they potentially run into an emergency that may make them "5 minutes late" as we were not extended that courtesy. We were simply and quite unfortunately turned away. Although, I do believe my Husband and daughter were discriminated against as I do not see this "policy" listed anywhere. If it is, in fact, a true policy, I would recommend the salon make their customers and potential customers aware in advance as the only heads up we have ever received was their policy on 12 hour cancellation.

The owner Chris first off took over a week to respond back to my complaint about my credit card charges. Instead of him asking me what happened he listened to whatever his receptionist told him when I talk to her on the phone. Mind you this was not the person that I had engaged with on the 10th. Saying that I paid with a card and that I changed my mind to use the gift card which was a lie. Chris said he cannot refund me my card because of a new system that was installed. He proceeds to tell me to call my credit union and dispute the charges. I called my credit union and explained the situation. They said that it doesn't work like that. I reach back out to Chris and he has not responded back. I have yet to receive my refund till this day. I'm putting this review on all platform. No one should have to experience this his customer service skills is horrible. I'm also reporting this to the Better Business Bureau

Although I did get some good color that came with the consequence of a rash that I broke out in from their beds. I'm not sure if the beds weren't getting cleaned or if it was the product they were cleaning with, but I ended up in the emergency room and on medication for a of couple weeks. The staff was friendly and again the bulbs were great resulting in good color during a short period of time, but the side affects from the beds was enough to have me not return for future service.
