Let's talk about this head spa, honey! As a Black woman, I never thought this would be something I'd get to enjoy--because, you know... hair. But baby, I am so glad I gave it a try! Kathleen and her team took amazing care of me, and let me be clear--this is NOT a salon experience, it's a SPA. The moment I stepped in, the smell alone had me floating! I swear, the vibe had me in a whole trance--like I just knew this was about to be some next-level relaxation.
Let's get into the face massage, Chef's kiss! I walked out feeling snatched, like I just got an undercover contour. And that mud mask To. Die. For. My skin was giving soft, smooth, and glowing--and the massage even felt like a little lymphatic cleanse because I left feeling all kinds of light and open. Pure bliss.
Now, for my curly girls and thick-hair queens out there--yes, sis, your hair WILL get wet. This isn't a salon blowout; it's more like a luxurious scalp massage, wash, and a light blow-dry. They used products that actually worked for my hair type (and trust, I'm particular about what goes on this crown). But if you're like me and picky about your hair routine, I'd recommend treating yourself to this service before a wash day--that's exactly what I did. When I got home, I threw on my own hair mask and did my usual wash later.
Let's talk about the blow-dry. It's just a basic, get-you-out-the-door dry. No silk press, no curl magic--just enough to make sure you're not dripping. You can always leave with a damp bun if that's more your vibe.
Long story short, this is self-care at its finest. If you're looking for a place to relax, reset, and treat your scalp and skin to something special, run, don't walk. Just know that when you leave, you'll be feeling zen.
10/10 would go again, but next time, right before a wash day. Because you know how we do ;) read more
