We tried some of the fresh jerky from the counter, some brisket sandwiches (get the XXL one), a banana pudding, pralines, and candied pickle chips. The candied pickle chips were insanely good with the brisket sandwich. We need those in Canada. I have never seen them before and am obsessed. There are so many flavours of jerky. I recommend them all quite frankly. The pralines were good. The banana pudding was more vanilla than banana but it wasn't bad. I just love Buc-ee's and will actively go out of my way to visit in the future.

What you will find if you get off the interstate at one of these is not just a place, but it's an experience:) The first thing you will find is a parking lot that's as crowded as a major city at rush hour. Then you will find about 120 fueling stations that you can fill your vehicle with usually the cheapest gas/diesel in the area. The newer ones even have electric charging stations. Then you get to go inside. Most of the new stores are about 79,000 square feet of food, beverages, snacks, and all kinds of touristy stuff. The folks working there will greet you and seem to be happy to be there. If you look at some of the sign's advertising for workers, you will see one of the reasons why. Salary at the lowest end starts at about $27 per hour and go all the way up to several hundred thousand dollars for a store director annual salary. If you need to use the facilities, head on back to the back of the store. You walk into a huge bathroom with enough spaces so that you probably will not have to wait. We've had the pleasure of meeting Jason, Katie, and Neil the owner and they've made us feel like family while here. When you stay here you definitely have to check out the Shed restaurant and Alexander's. The food at the Shed is exceptional we did the sampler plate, burgers, and cheese curds. They were great. You'll also want to eat at Alexander's on the property at the Inn as the food is phenomenal. Crystal literally jumps out of her chair in her office and runs in the hallway to scream at me that I can't have my dog in there in front of everyone, she did not pull me to side, she did not use any customer service skills, she just screamed at me. I told her he was a service dog and I think she said well he has to have his vest with the worst attitude. I did as she requested and removed the dog from the building and sat outside with my dog. This was a work meeting for me with clients and she embarrassed me, upset my clients and honestly I have never seen someone so passionate about kicking out a cute shih-tzu in my life. It was like she was having a bad day or something and she wanted to take it out on me. I have been coming to the vineyard over a decade and I've never seen a sign saying no pets allowed maybe the rules changed, and I will gladly comply if they did, but it was not that the fact that she asked me to remove the dog, it was the tone and the way she yelled at me that was so concerning and I think as a vineyard you should know about this incident and that lots of people have pets, Austin is a pet friendly city and she could have been a lot kinder and use some customer service skills to get her point across with the little class and grace that you expect from a vineyard establishment. Everyone is there to have a good time and have a meaningful experience with the staff, not get yelled by an unhinged employee. Needless to say back to the front desk, where we were assigned another room, I requested to have the manager come speak to me about the early check-in procedure. Needless to say the manager never showed up and eventually I found out he was never informed. You must request service for you room at the front desk hopefully they write it down, came back at 4 PM and the room was not cleaned at around 6 PM the manager showed up and apologized for the screw ups of his front desk staff. We shall see how this goes the rest of our stay here. We are staying 8 days and only half way thru the stay. Breakfast was not great mediocre at best, if you like watery egg hits and grits you are in like Flynn. Just not a large selection of choices for breakfast. Checked out with no issue, Manager did me a solid and did not share me a pet fee for my stay so I can assume it was because of the mess up with the room cleaning. Liked the place and conveniently located for the base and many options for eating.

Then you get to sit passenger as one of the instructors flys through the course and you realize how slow you have been driving. I was doing school zone speeds when they're doing highway speeds.
