What they do have is a vast supply of pet food and supplies of all kinds, and the good nutrional kind, not like Ol' Roy at Walmart. They also have doggie clothing, pet toys, pet houses, automatic litter boxes, medicines, holistic tonics for your pooch or puss...you get the idea. They are very helpful and will entertain any questions and give you good advice. When I was desperate to keep one of our 2 week old kittens alive when he was trying his best to die, they had kitten bottles and formula and told me how to go about taking care of him. I am happy to report that Bob or "Wobbler" as we refer to him since he is a bit crooked from the whole ordeal but it just makes him more endearing, is still alive. Sure, it took 24 hours of me sitting with him and force feeding him every hour to do it. Yes, I had to keep putting him in with his Mama and his litter makes when she kept removing him and leaving him on the floor to die. But Mama and the boys finally took him back in when he got enough of his strength back and it was all worth it if you ask me... Its good to know that in an area like Great Barrington where nothing is "close" to get to, there was a place right nearby that had what I needed to save my kittens life.

Perhaps it's the smaller amount of tanks but the fish here are actually pretty decent. As a reef tank hobbyist, Petco is a dirty word but this location has had some great looking livestock which I've purchased. The freshwater fish also look nice. Unfortunately I know more than the "fish expert" but that usually happens at petco. The lady here at least had a fairly good understanding of the hobby. Unfortunately I've heard lots of bad advice being given by other employees in regards to fish though. The dog section is pretty good. My Sheltie loves it. They have all the toys and foods that any petco would have but just less inventory of each item. The reptiles look great here also. Every time I go in they ate looking after them and cleaning up the habitats. Small animals look healthy. Much less stinky and filthy than most Petcos. Whoever runs the store definitely keeps up with the litter changes. Cats. I don't like cats at all. I'm sure it's a fine selection though. Grooming. Well id never have my dog groomed at a petco. So I can't comment. For a bath though I'm sure they're fine. They always seem to have lots of dogs on there so it mustn't be to bad. To sum it all up this is a nice petco on a smaller scale than most. I think that's the wave of the future for this retailer. For a town of so few people we have 3-4 specialty pet stores and several groomers but it's nice to have the petco also, for the convince and competitive price as well as for all the supplies you can't buy at a dog/ cat store for other Pets in your life. Petco has saved the day on my reef tank twice now simply from being close and having what I needed so o didn't have to drive an hour. The employees are friendly and most are somewhat knowledgeable at least. Better than the average petco by far.

If I didn't shout to stop and let her go... he would have broken her leg. He looked up and laughed saying "oh is this your dog" she was visibly shaken and in pain. We left immediately- the fee was waved for the hack job they did, but more than that- the physical pain and trauma they did to my dog. We contacted the veterinarian who stated she was very fortunate I walked in and they monitored her for damage. She was sore and had a limp for 2 days following our trip for a simple nail trim and grind. We called and spoke to the district manager who initially laughed at my boyfriend for being upset and then later apologized for doing so. They stated they would review the video- and get back. They never did. There is nothing this company can do for our family- we just wanted the acknowledgment that this occurred and apology, along with a promise that this won't happen to anyone else. This company cannot do that... each day, they put dogs in harms way; it's disgusting.

Went back today when they could sell them and one was sold yesterday. When I said they were suppose to be on hold for me. All that was left was the Black Moor fish. So I said I would take that one than. Even thou I was suppose to get both. The employee was trying to put the black moor in the bag when the fish missed the bag fell to the floor & they eye fell out after hitting the floor.
