On December 18th, I made a video appointment with Denise, during this call everything went well; as usual. I was told by Denise as we ended the call, to follow up in 2 weeks. TWO WEEKS LATER...... I go to MyChart to schedule a follow-up with Denise, and I can't schedule an appointment, there are NO PROVIDERS LISTED!! Also, there was no way to send a message!! I call the office next, and I'm transferred to someone who tells me "You've been discharged from this practice!! SHOCKED!! ME?? WHY?? All that was explained to me was that "They are short staffed". Next, I was told that they would provide 1 month of medication while I find another provider. Now, for most people this might be ok, but for me, I'm on Controled Substance meds, and finding another provider is More than Difficult, and I explained them of this; THEY DID NOT CARE!! Being a patient with 3 chronic conditions in need of continuous medications, this type of behavior should be ILLEGAL!! Doctors take an oath, to "DO NO HARM", these Doctors Harmed Me Terribly!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRACTICE AT ALL COSTS!!

At 630 this morning, I realized I had forgotten to pack my thyroid medicine to take with me on vacation to Boston. I called and left a message requesting a prescription be called in for 5 tablets. I gave all of my personal info, and provided the location and phone number of the local CVS, which was in Salem, where we'd be spending the day, as well as my own phone number. I did not receive any call back confirming that the message was received, etc. So I called again, at about 9:35. I was told the prescription had been "called in". Ok, great. We did some sightseeing at I went to the CVS at 11:30 assuming the prescription would be ready or nearly ready. I was told it was never received. Called the Dr office again. I was told that the Dr on duty never looked at it because he was busy with patients. Ok, but I'm a patient also, and I had iniated this request in the early morning, so could they please ask him to do it between patients she said she would ask him to do that. I returned at 1:30... STILL NOTHING. I called the Dr office and was told the same story. We went to lunch. I called the pharmacy at 330. THE PRESCRIPTION WAS A) NOT CALLED IN TO THAT LOCATION, BUT TO ANOTHER ONE IN SALEM; B) THE DR PRESCRIBED *A*FULL*30 DAY* SUPPLY* which I did not ask for, and the prescription coverage denied it because I'm not due for a FULL refill until October. NO KIDDING. BUT I ONLY ASKED FOR F I V E TABLETS. I called the Dr office A G A I N, told them what they did which was WRONG, and they proceeded to pit me.in hold then hand me off to someone who expected me to start from the beginning to explain it to her. NO THANKS. I called the CVS back, worked with the pharmacy to only fill it for 5 tablets, for which I had to pay out of pocket since the INEPT DR OFFICE called in the WRONG QUANTITY so the pharmacy could not run it through my prescription coverage for less than 30 day supply. I. AM. LIVID. I've NEVER dealt with such ineptitude in my life.

Her office is kept clean, she has so many years of experience with both eastern medicine in China, and internal medicine here in the U.S. I believe she's been practicing in the states for well over 20 years. Experience is everything when it comes to finding a good doc. Whenever I've done acupuncture from her, usually for my right shoulder that gives me chronic inflammation, I will feel much better the next day. Also, I usually HATE needles, but anytime I've had bloodwork or anything that requires needles, it's like it's over before it even began. Oh yea, and they open on Saturday mornings, which is good. She'll also be responsive to my email or phone call questions, so I don't always have to make a trip in.

I only waited for about 5 minutes before I was called in by her nurse who took my medical history, vitals, height, and weight. For the nitty gritty, Dr. Nalitt was extremely thorough. She asked about any problems I was experiencing and my family's medical history, recorded EKG, screened for colon cancer, and checked for breast lumps. (A phlebotomist on-site took my blood to check for cholesterol and other things.) The whole time, I felt comfortable answering all of her questions. The next day, she called me with results and the status of results that hadn't arrived yet. I really appreciate her hands-on personal approach and trust her with my health. NOTES: **She has a secure website where you can exchange messages, see any bills, test results, and appointments. **X-rays, urine tests, and blood tests are done in-house. **Very friendly staff.

At one point, one nurse came in and asked me to move from the examining table to the chair to be more comfortable while waiting. Supposedly this was at the request of Dr. Mendes. Cool. At another point, a second nurse came in and told me the doctor was running a little behind with other patients and asked if I had anywhere to be. Not sure it would have mattered if I did, but it was still nice of her to ask. Dr. Mendes spent about 5-10 minutes with me and ultimately prescribed me an MRI, which is the outcome I was expecting. Because of the subtlety of my injury, he explained he wasn't really able to diagnose me in the absence of those results. Overall, the staff was courteous, professional, and prompt. My only complaint is that Dr. Mendes acknowledged that his associate, Dr. Chase, was who I should have seen in the first place. Chase specializes in sports and I did specify with the secretary when I made my appointment that I was coming in for a sports-related injury. No Mendes's fault, but still kind of annoying.

I got a prescription for a couple of meds, which may or may not have been for the issue I was having, though I do appreciate the concerted effort to treat my pain. I had x-rays taken, though I didn't get a lead shield for the body parts that weren't supposed to receive it. I was also given the option of a cortisone shot in an effort to alleviate my pain. In all, a positive experience.

Vicki is directly above my podiatrist group downstairs, & can consult with my doctor who did the surgery. I was in a LOT of pain still before I started PT.
