The place is great for stayong several nights in Maui. They have a pool with a password lock door. And their own private beach that usually has a couple of Turtles on it in the morning. But the rooms have no AC so you have to rely on fans or the pool to keep you cool. And you have to get a parking permit from the office. Which closes around 2 ish. So you have to be there early!

Sunset from the beach.

This review is for unit 207. After searching and weeding down our search for a rental condo for our 10 day stay on Maui with Jordan and Teagan we decided on unit 207 at Menehune Shores in Kihei. It had everything we were looking for in what appeared to be an ideal location for exploring Maui. As I sit here on the couch on day 10, our expectations were far exceeded. The complex is waterfront and has an immaculately kept pool. There is plenty of onsite parking and a friendly and hard working staff out there everyday keeping the grounds looking great. The unit is a two bed, two bath unit with a full, well equipped kitchen. The living room has plenty of comfortable seating for 4 as well as a tv and DVD player with a selection of movies. There are ceiling fans in each room but no AC. In July Maui can get hot, but open the doors and turn on the fans and the condo is quite comfortable. The view from the lanai is amazing and we spent time every morning looking out at the water and the mountains. Mike and Gay have also provided the condo with everything you need for a day at the beach, comfortable chairs, umbrellas, coolers, towels and toys for the little ones. Staying here felt more like borrowing a family members place than renting a condo from a stranger. Mike was great to work with and we had no issues, everything was clean and working perfectly during our stay. I would strongly recommend unit 207 if you are coming to Maui.

I think this is a vent in the bathroom. But it's gross and disgusting room 225

Room 225 - we booked through Air BnB and read the reviews and was looking forward to a nice condo. Let me start by saying it is a quiet location. It is right on the beach. There is a very nice view. And it's only about 15 minutes from the airport. Walking to the unit the kitchen and dining room area are fine. However the second bedroom and bathroom need a lot of work. The dresser is literally decaying and falling apart. The beds are not the most comfortable. And my biggest issue was the bathroom. The shower floor looks like it is completely filthy. It needs to be re-glazed. I got in with shower shoes on. You can also tell on the baseboards that the cleaning is subpar. There was hair on the wall. It appears that they updated the countertop but not the cabinetry. I did reach out to the host and let her know but I don't know how she's going to proceed. Also the towel rack that is shown in the photos is definitely not what is still up. You can tell that there's a lot of patchwork in the restrooms. The master bedroom dresser isn't quite as bad but should be replaced. You can't see the ocean from the bedroom. So that is very picturesque as well.

Unit 607. Booking, communication, and getting into the condo upon arrival was easy. We stayed in April. Big pluses: Heated, clean pool with reasonable evening swim hours (doesn't close at dinnertime like some places we've stayed), safe swimming area, air conditioning (one of only a few in the complex), comfortable furniture, clean, decent supply of cooking staples (oil, salt, pepper, spices, coffee filters), beautiful views. Lots of towels and beach items. There is a decent supply of toiletries. A nice selection of books and a few games. Indian food restaurant onsite. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water in the showers. Close to shops and restaurants but wasn't overly noisy. The not so great: The Indian food restaurant on site had construction going while we were there but was still serving food. They advertised Sunday buffet, but wasn't actually open on the Sunday we were there. The wifi password in the guest book is wrong. A big deal for kids after sitting on an airplane for hours. The two twin beds in the second bedroom were supposed to be converted to a king. I'd emailed confirming this the week before our arrival because our teen is 6-ft tall and weighs 260. We put the twins together as a king, but had no king bedding. We left a mssg and someone came by the next day to make the bed with king sheets. They had no blankets except for the twins, and there was no foam or padding to cover the middle seam. Second, and really important, there is no bathtub as shown in pics and in the condo information sheet. This is a really big deal for a family with an autistic kid that needs baths. Luckily, the pool was heated and there is a hot tub so we got by without major meltdowns. The roller blinds in the master bedroom are broken and will not raise all the way, and not just a little, either. The window shades cover a good third of the window. When going out the bedroom sliding door, you have to duck down, and they inhibit the view greatly. The shades over the desk in the master bedroom are also broken and will not raise all the way which inhibits the beautiful view and makes opening the windows impossible. This is a really big deal! The curtains in the second bedroom are white and thin with no other blinds. Don't kid yourself and think the kids will stay asleep when the light comes flooding in with the sunrise. The kitchen sink faucet is put on at an angle instead of centered which kept throwing me when I'd turn the water on. Doesn't sound like a big deal but it was an irritant. The paper towel holder top is broken. There are mirrors EVERYWHERE! Do not think you can run from the bathroom into the bedroom with a towel around you because you will be caught in the mirrors in many angles. Yes,the mirrors are great for enhancing the views and making the smaller spaces bigger, but really, dial back on the mirrors. The parking lot's spaces are really small. We had a small SUV and had to park in the furthest spots many times because there wasn't enough room in closer available spots to open doors. There are no alarm clocks in either bedroom. No clocks, at all. Would we stay here again? Yes, if the blind situations were remedied and appropriate bedding are in condo.

The view north with the pool and mini-beach.

We found these condos listed on multiple websites, contacted one of the owners directly and made our reservations privately, paying thru PayPal (had we paid thru Trip Advisor the owner would have charged us the fee that TA charges them). Everything was just as advertised and worked out well. The oceanfront view alone was worth the rental for me, and our upper floor lanai was very private. The rooftop was the most beautiful setting I can imagine to BBQ our steak and fish! Being our first condo on our first visit to Maui, we were very satisfied with the location, grounds, and facility. Northern Kihei seemed centrally located between the southern beaches, the businesses of Kahalui, the Upcountry and the crater. We learned that the beaches generally get better as you head south to Wailea, which is where we spent much of our south shore time when we weren't on Mt Haleakala or in a helicopter. Although we appreciated our later Ka'anapali condo location even more and got a summer deal which cost less per night, this worked well for us and we would consider returning.

Great location, easy walking distance to the beach and the swimming Pool . Rooms was clean and bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay here again. There ...nice Indian food restaurant in the condominium plaza... (convenient) Wahooooo....Hawaii!!

Enjoyed this place for my first time in Maui, hope to return to Maui and probably stay here again. We stayed from Thursday to Monday and never saw the Office open, maybe we left too early and arrived late in the day to see them open (Mon to Fri 9am - 1pm). Stayed in #406 and it was a nice two room two bed two bathroom place. Huge tv and a larger living room, kitchen & dining area. Great view of the beach.

We love this place! It is very convenient location in Kihei. The entire staff is super friendly every time you come in contact with them. There is an amazing view from every room, some even better then others. Great safe place to swim in the ocean and see turtles every day. They have a super clean pool and grills right by the ocean. A huge shuffle board to play on in the grass. An amazing roof top deck with grills and the best view for sunsets. The only small complaints is in order to keep this place looking amazing is they are always doing something on the property that is super load. Which I'm sure is something you are going to encounter at in any well kept condominium. And both times we have stayed there, they had a water shut off for three hours. One was on check out morning, which was a bit inconvenient. The last one was a few days before check out, that one wasn't as inconvenient and it was promptly back on when they said it would be. I would still stay here again. They also have a Indian restaurant on the main level of the building. We have yet to go, but I've heard good things and they have a good yelp rating. They use to have an amazing view of the water and are currently remodeling, so I'm definitely going to have to check it out next time I'm there.

Awesome location!! Nice lagoon.

Would I recommend the Koa Resort on Maui? Nope!…read more Here's why. Stayed at the Koa Resort, unit 4G, 3bedroom, 2 bath condo costing ~$721/night for 7 days. The facilities are generally nice and well kept, the location is good for exploring Maui. Our unit though had its problems. The central AC was on the fritz and was in repair transition when we arrived, no notice. Each bedroom had a portable AC unit in it that took up room and was noisy. The resort staff wanted us to let workmen into the condo to do final repairs during our stay. Some of us were quite tired from fatigue from running a marathon the previous day and erratic sleep because of our second big problem. There was a rat in the condo! First signs were evidence of fruit on the counters being chewed and rat turds. Two of our group had seen the rat scurry by out of the corner of their eye, and one had felt it climb over them in the night. We called the resort staff and they sent over a guy who brought over 3 bait traps, 2 for mice (?) and one rat sized. We thought the rat was home basing in one of the owner's closets. So, put the rat trap in that closet and stuffed a towel under the door to trap him inside, if indeed it was in there. We packed most of our food in the refer and cabinets, but unfortunately an avocado was left out one night and was chewed on. Great! In the night, my son heard it digging out the carpet so it could get under his door and into his room. Then felt it crawl over him to get to the window. He waited patiently and actually got a photo of it. Yep, a good size rat. We asked for spring traps and we bought some peanut butter for bait. Mind you the staff never called to see if the bait traps had worked, no follow up. How common is this? Once we had the spring traps, 2 mouse sized and 1 rat sized. Why the mouse traps? We know what a rat is. Baited the rat trap in the afternoon with peanut butter and set it by the stove. Five of us were milling around the condo but not in the kitchen when 10 minutes after setting it, we heard the trap snap. We looked and there the little darling was in the trap, broad daylight. We got it! Should I send them an invoice for de-ratting their condo? We did not get any compensation by the resort for the rat or AC problems, though I did ask for a 10% discount. No such luck. Me thinks this is a common problem there. So, would I recommend the Koa Resort on Maui? Nope!

The carpet needs a full shampoo as do all the furniture seat cushions. Both sides. All chairs. The oven doesn't work but the burners do, they just don't sit flat but do smoke when turned on. I needed to bake a dinner , so big problem. So begins the problem. That alone is a deal breaker. Photo for bedroom not current. Bed rearranged to lean against on wall for support. The bedroom is now set up so you can only get in on one side. One corner leg is broken off the frame. The bedroom tv now faces the formica sink with the big cigarette burn. So not usable to watch. The cubboards and closets are full of old left behind gear, umbrellas, toys and water bottles. The other closet door is on a slide and stuck. Full of extra wall pictures , a fan, a Lamp and a ladder. The very dated bamboo tables under glass tops look like they never have been wiped down. So a layer of dirt on your finger is the test. Only One smoke alarm and no posted taxation certificate so it may not have a STR certificate at all. The answer, move. After a couple phone calls and texts we agreed to pay for the first night. We had no choice. So a 210.00 night with fees for accidental damage , cleaning, air bnb fee, taxes to county, it turned into a 750.00 one night stay. That charge is for a perfect apartment and 1/2 the kitchen was unusable and the refrigerator ran all night. So, very far from what was charged. An Expensive lesson but no way to know till you arrive. My other nine days were refunded with an apology. Because they had no alternate stay to offer and the condition and unusable oven. We Booked another $4K stay in Kihei and asked for a refund for this joint. I let the after 5 pm night operator know an hour after i opened the door. This has never happened in many years of travel. We Moved this morning after showers. We are now in a proper lodging , still in Kihei across from the beach with an ocean view. The way it should be! Review # 2200 Maui, Hawaii

First of all the communication is extremely prompt and informative. We stayed at Kihei Beach Resort #605 which is beyond beautiful. Fully stocked and beautifully decorated with all the amenities of home. I would receive emails with the current events and places of interest while I was there. But what put everything over the top is their care and compassion about my Mom when she became ill and our safety during Hurricane Lane. A team came over to help us secure the condo to protect us and the property for the potentially dangerous wind and rain. I had expressed how the flash light batteries were dead and with in 2 hours Peter came by with a working flash light. We had to check out the day the hurricane was supposed to hit and we were concerned we would not be able to fly out due to cancellations of flights. TO make things even more difficult, my 76 year old mother had become very ill and we didn't want to keep her at the airport for hours waiting for a flight. I contacted Viktoria and she promptly returned my call and shared concern for my Mom's well being. Viktoria found another unit for us to stay in until we were able to fly home so that my mom was able to rest comfortably. We were unable to stay in our original unit as another guest had made reservations the day we checked out. The second unit, Kihei Akahi, was also beautiful and was extremely comfortable. Paige and Samantha were constantly checking in on us and making sure everything was ok. I also wanted to mention the regular emails I received updating us on the hurricane situation and what to do, what to take and where to go just in case we were evacuated. Fortunately we were able to get our flight out before any cancellations. We may have only stayed in the other condo for 7 hours, but my mom was able to rest comfortable before taking that long flight home. I just want to say very much Mahalo to the entire team at Sunny Maui Vacations. You all are truly wonderful people who go above and beyond for your guests. Aloha and Mahalo

If you're looking for an upscale stay on Maui look elsewhere. I say this only to set expectations…read more Worldmark Kihei, with its uber-close walk to a nice beach, has everything you need for your Hawaiian vacation but some folks prefer something more upscale. There were 4 of us on this Hawaiian visit and unusual to me was a decision to cook most meals in the Kihei condo as well as pack lunches in advance to prepare for our days at the beach. For this, the condo was perfect. There are pots and pans, cups and plates, utensils and seasonings. Don't see what you need? Call the front desk and it'll be delivered to you promptly. I was on the 4th floor in a condo with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths and even a Murphy bed in the common space. There was an ample seating area to eat in, space to relax, and a balcony outfitted with table and chairs and a slice of sunset view. Parking (included) was always available in the lot just below where I stayed. There's a pool, kid's pool, and hot tub on-site and they're ample but not if you've grown accustomed to any offered by the major resorts. These are outside in an enclosed area with no views and no charm. I did use the hot tub and appreciated the temperature and its' ample size. My favorite unexpected thing about staying here is that people leave things behind when they depart for home. In the "clubhouse" there was a makeshift wall where people had left beach chairs, boogie boards, noodles, and more. Outside, on any random morning, you might find that departing guests have left a stash of groceries they couldn't take with them: loaves of bread, boxes of crackers, frozen waffles, and hunks of cheese. So even though you've made the obligatory Hawaii Costco run when staying in a condo, you might not find much need to go a second time. Across the street is an ABC Store and a snorkel rental spot and the market is a not too distant drive from here. Worldmark Kihei was a good home base from which to explore the western shore of the island and though the drive to some of the island's best beach destinations was over 35 minutes away, there were plenty of less notorious beaches to enjoy in this area for a shorter daily drive. Bottom line? Worldmark Kihei was a perfectly fine, clean, quiet place of lodging for 4 people for 8 nights.
