Went back again for another gel manicure, almost 3 weeks after the first. My nails held up the whole time and didn't really chip at all in between, just grew out enough that it was time, and I do not wear gloves when washing dishes or anything and am not especially gentle. They soaked off my existing gels first, and I felt no nail damage or burning when the base and gel layers were applied. Beautiful, natural, durable result. read more

My daughter and I had a great experience today at Sunny's. She got a French manicure which looked awesome, and I got a toe polish change and mani. Vicky and Esther were meticulous. Great service and bonus massage at end. I was glad I made an appointment. Three people came in while I was there and they had to be turned away. Only four ladies were working and couldn't handle the drop ins. I recommend calling ahead. read more

Yikes, I hate giving bad reviews but my experience was awful. I went into get my nails repainted because the paint job had been damaged at work and I was too embarrassed to go back to my usual place after having just been in the day before. I wanted a gray base black edges on the tip (in a V shape with the shape of the nail). I picked out my colors and gave them to my technician, who was one of maybe 2 or 3 people working. The shop was empty. She begins to sand my nails so that she can remove the paint and makes a stink face. She the told me that people who have money don't have acrylic nails because they're cheap and ugly. She said "Acrylic is for Mexicans". I was shocked! Her comments were super racist and a bit offense to someone who happens to love her acrylics. She sanded way too close to the skin and actually wore enough away that three of them started bleeding. It was extremely painful. Then we got to the painting part. She disregarded the colors I picked out and picked a rose pink for the nail and a navy blue for the tip (again, I had picked light gray and black). Both of these colors were not to my liking and when I questioned her about them she swore that they would come out the colors I wanted. They did not! Not only were they not my colors and not colors I even liked, but the paint job was lumpy. I walked out with nails that I could barely look at and that drove me crazy for 3 weeks before I got them filled again. The kicker? They charged me DOUBLE what I pay for a fill and paint my usual salon! I'm sure this place is fine for normal mani pedis but do not go here for anything more than that! read more

Don't bother making an appointment at this salon because it won't be honored!!! I had a 4 pm appointment and it is 4:30 and I am still waiting. They allow " walk-ins" to bump people with an appointment No one even told me when I arrived at 4 that I would have to wait, after sitting around for 15 minutes I asked one of the girls and they said that it would be another 20 minutes This is a horrible way to treat your customers. They didn't even offer to give a discount. The only reason I ever come here is because it is near my house. I will never come again !!! read more

I had an absolutely awful experience at this "nail establishment". They are ridiculously overpriced for the poor quality of their work. My friend and I went in for a simple acrylic fill, we were told $16 over the phone, which seemed reasonable due to our previous experiences in Arizona. We are new to the area of Mendham and would have never imagined the price would be wildly different. They charged my card without telling me the price and when we were given the receipt we were shocked that we had been charged $130. They refused to give us a refund after discussing the misunderstanding due to the language barrier, on top of all of that our nails came out uneven and messy. read more

My shellac chipped off after two days. The nail tech did the bottom coat first and then had to remove it.... it was done unsuccessfully. Then went on to poorly paint my nails. I had to keep asking for spots to be covered. This shellac mani took well over an hour. I've had my nails done for years and have never had to fuss. This time, I had to watch each step to be sure it was complete. Super disappointing. I've been to other places and had no problems. I'll avoid this place from now on. read more

I am really surprised at these other reviews. I've been going there for a few years. Everyone is always so nice. I always do the shellac. Sometimes they do chip earlier than expected, but I think it's the brand of shellac. I've got my nails done at other places that also chip quickly. I like hot baths so that doesn't help either. If you ask them for choices that they recommend that won't chip quickly, I have found that they make good recommendations and they last a really long time. It's good not to soak them for the first 24 hours. I did notice that maybe they're not as good at the fancy nail work. I had a couple special nails done for a holiday once and they did not look like the picture. I could tell she was really trying though. They still looked great however and doing the special design in shellac, made them last twice as long. I actually removed the other nails and repainted, keeping the decorative ones for an extra couple weeks. This place is best for their pedicures. They give awesome massages, better than anywhere else I've been. They spend a lot of time with the massage, it's not just a quick supplemental thing. They also offer massages in 15 minute increments. Sometimes I pop in for them. They're really great. I think the prices are pretty reasonable. $35 for the shellac nails. Most of the pedicures with the massage is for $60. I feel like the prices are pretty reasonable. read more

A friend reco'd Sunny Nails, and I've just returned from a really nice pedicure experience! Haven't utilized any of their other services, but will definitely go back. Sunny Nails doesn't provide a spa experience, but it's still pampering and relaxing. If you're looking for a relatively quick in-and-out pedicure, this is a great option. The front desk is accommodating (though busy -- appts recommended); the nail technicians are pleasant, gentle, and effective. $30 for the basic pedi - includes the typical soak, clip, file, soak again and rub (both exfoliating and moisturizing) but also includes a warm towel wrap, brief hot stone treatment, and warm moisturizing "packets" on rough spots like heels. A nice addition that sets them apart! Prices go up for the more elaborate treatments -- chocolate pedicure, green tea pedicure, cuccio pedi, etc. Looking forward to trying the cuccio! I'm particular about cleanliness when I get my nails done, especially in a non-spa environment: I saw nothing that worried me. Will post an update if I experience any post-pedi problems.
