I've been to this location twice now. Normally go to the 35th location but forest park is much closer from my house. The first time was an ok experience. Second time today for just a wash and blow dry. I had braids in for a minute and definitely needed a good wash and blow dry. I called ahead for pricing and the woman said $40. Okay. Get there and a child is getting styled in one chair and a woman in another . He stopped styling to wash me and tried to get away with a 4 min wash after using half of my bottle of shampoo. I tell him no you need to wash again because I can feel my scalp still dirty. Like Wtf. Now he has an attitude and is all rough on my head. He slaps some regular condition on for 30-40sec then washes it off. No detangle or anything.I don't even wanna argue at this point. So the wife is like your hair is clean but next time I will wash your hair blah blah. There won't be a next time. Oh and a wash with style is $45 so I feel like the $40 is a ripoff for just wash and dry NO style. Also you gotta pay cash otherwise there is a $5 card charge.

This place tried to send me away with wet hair on December 14th.

Price was more than tripled from what I was told when I called. From $65 to $250 They told me they "misunderstood" once my hair was soapy Touch up was $50 more than original service. When I refused to pay I was asked to leave with wet hair. Three times I said are you really going to send a customer out with wet hair in December!!?? No response. When I started taking selfies I was offered a hood dryer. My hair looked 100 times better before I walked in. I can't get on with my Saturday looking like this. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!

Just got my hair done. Very nice hard press and wonderful body curls. I know my 4c hair is gonna stay straight.

I want to clarify a few things, because being called a liar and having my experience dismissed is…read moreextremely unprofessional and not acceptable. I have been to this salon three times. I continued to return specifically because I liked one particular hairdresser and had no complaints about her work. My review was never an attack on the stylists themselves . However, I did feel that the environment was unwelcoming at times, and after my third visit, I felt it was important to be honest about that experience. Part of my review included concerns that were shared with me by my sister, who no longer comes to this salon due to feeling uncomfortable and out of place. She explained to me that on multiple occasions she felt she was treated differently, received looks that made her feel she did not belong, and was consistently serviced last while other customers were taken first. She is not confrontational and chose not to address it herself, but her experience mattered to me, and that is why I mentioned it. Sharing someone's lived experience does not make me a liar. To say that dismissing someone's feelings or perspective as "insane" simply because it does not match your own is deeply concerning. You cannot prove or disprove how someone feels in a space, regardless of who else was present that day. Asking a stylist basic questions about management and tipping was not done maliciously. I was simply trying to understand the environment and leadership of the establishment something customers are allowed to be curious about. Unfortunately, your response has now answered those questions for me. I fully understand that this salon primarily serves children, and that delays can happen. My issue was not the eight-minute wait itself, but the lack of communication. Being left standing to the side without explanation while others are attended to naturally creates confusion and discomfort. A simple acknowledgment would have gone a long way. I acknowledge that I could have explained certain parts of my review more clearly, and I am doing so now. What I will not accept is being labeled dishonest or having my concerns minimized instead of addressed with professionalism. I am entitled to my opinion and my experience, just as other reviewers are. I returned for the skill of one stylist, but overall, I did not feel welcomed, and your public response has reinforced that feeling. This interaction alone has ensured that I will not be returning. I also find it concerning that, rather than seeking clarification or addressing the feedback constructively, your response publicly labels me dishonest and dismisses my experience outright. That approach reinforces the very concerns raised in my review. I stand by my review as an accurate reflection of my experience and perspective. I returned for one stylist's work, but overall did not feel welcomed. Your response has confirmed my decision not to return. You repeatedly reference having "proof" related to timestamps, payment times, and the absence of walk-ins. Those details do not invalidate or disprove the concerns raised in my review. Customer experiences are not limited to transaction records or scheduling data. Feelings of being overlooked, excluded, or treated differently are subjective and cannot be disproven through receipts, timestamps, or internal records. I apologize if my original review was not clear enough in explaining these concerns. I hope this response clarifies my experience and perspective.

She always made the experience so warm despite it taking at the very least 3 hours each time. I called it my second therapy because when I went there to see her it didn't feel like a dreadful 3+ hours of an overpriced service- it felt like someone who genuinely cared about me and my hair! It's extremely disappointing Adrianna was terminated without notice because the new owner thought how personable she was with her clients made her unprofessional. Adrianna's "too personable" got me through the death of my mother, my divorce, my happy days and my very sad days. When I went there she let me talk about whatever while she made me feel confident at the same time. It was always more than just a hair appointment to me. It was a break from reality and all the outside noise. It was 3 hours of Adrianna making me feel like an actual person without making it feel like another self care chore you have to do. Please rethink giving your money to this establishment or these new "owners". The world NEEDS more people like Adrianna not more internally ugly people who care more about "professionalism" and the way they look to other people vs how their employees make their clients feel! Salon Elia hasn't been the same since Bill passed away and this just further proves that. The man truly cared about his employees and clients (even ones that weren't his) and it's a shame he didn't raise his own children to do the same. I hope this review wasn't too personable and the right amount of professional!

My appointment was for a pedicure. The normal parking lot had a police car blocking off the entrance so I just parked on the street. Street parking was plentiful and free! When I walked up outside I noticed they had a sign on the door that reminded guests to wait outside until their appointment time. I waited until a few minutes before my appointment and was greeted right when I walked in. Everyone working in the salon had masks on and of course it was also required for all guests. I've been here a few times and Rose is incredible with nails. She's personable and it's really the best pedicure I've received. My favorite part is the marine cooling masque she uses on my feet and them wraps them up in a hot towel. It's a literal spa for your feet. This product leaves my feet tingly even after I leave the salon! Rose cleaned her entire station with cleaning products after me before she took a new guest which was great to see especially during this time. Overall, her station is always well-kept and I've never had a bad experience with her. Thank you so much for my much needed self care moment and I can't wait to come back for another :)
