Whatever happened to common courtesy?? My grandmother always taught me to speak to people and polite. When you work in retail, you get paid to do it. Not the case at this location. I had associates walk right past me without even a simple "hello" or "do you need and assistance?" 10 count it 10 people including a supervisor walked past me as I shopped. The only exception was a young lady ( Maria) and the cashier ( Samantha). Needless to say I will not return to this store. I would rather travel to Melrose Park. read more

Avoid on-line purchases from this company. The return policy makes it impossible to return an item. Worse: if you are buying a system (in my case a chimney where the parts must match), then discover you need a simple part to complete the system, you're going to be told - you have to come to the store to get that. the stores are 1/2 a continent away. If you order online for delivery, they are pretty bad. They often have advertised discounts that you dont get online, but the WORST is the confiscatory "processing fees" and shipping. JUST POST A LEGIT TOTAL (PRODUCT PLUS POSTAGE)....."PROCESSING FEE" IS GUTTER RETAILING............it's a low balling price that you will never get...it's bottom barrel beat up used car marketing...... read more

I Like this Menards.... NOT that they aren't all the same merchandise wise, but this one is always stocked with everything I need, and the staff is helpful. The prices are a little higher than places like Walmart, but you can actually find staff to talk to when you need help, and they know what they are talking about. Also, they have registers and people are manning them so you don't have to wait forever when you're ready to leave. read more

I had a real good experience at this Menards today. John, who works in the doors area, was very helpful and friendly. He walked right up to me and asked if he could help me. I didn't have to track an employee down. I showed him a flyer of what I wanted and he walked me right over to it. We had it ordered in no time. He was also very friendly. read more

I wish there is a zero star for this rating. Very bad service. People in the store bring you incorrect items, which you get stuck with. I bought a bathtub and wall set the other day. The employee brought me the wrong items and wrong size, different from the displayed ones I asked for. This cost me a lot renting a truck to return the bulky wall set to the store. Further, we noticed that the bathtub is not the right model I chose after it has been installed. You typically don't expect that the employee is careless that he brings you a different item. When I contacted customer service complaining about this poor service, they told me it's my responsibility to check the items at the store and make sure they are the correct ones you asked for. Instead of taking the responsibility, they asked me next time to stand in the middle of the store opening the huge bathtub and wall set boxes and getting items out of the boxes piece by piece to make sure that the careless employee got me the right stuff I asked for. That is it. NO MORE MENARDS. Competitive stores have much better customer service from my previous experience and BTW they also give you 11% rebate if you ask for it. read more

I used to shop at The Home Depot in Logan Square, but I've found my new place. The staff at this new Menards are super friendly. And, this store is so large, that if they don't have the item you're looking for, it probably doesn't exist. Went in expecting nothing, came out feeling great about the level of service, cleanliness of the store, and ease of finding items in a big-box store. This menards is pretty much like any other hardware store out here. It's clean,.the workers have Good attitudes and are very helpful. You can go in, get what you want and then go about your day. There is hardly ever a line or wait for anything and that's what I like most about going here. I would recommend this place to everyone! read more

As far as big house project centers go this one just shot to the top. Big loud shout out to Amber who seemed to be orchestrating everything from the front desk. We started a patio project and she was super friendly and accommodating to us. Even the guy on the forklift was super helpful. Huge thumbs up on customer service here. Double for Amber. WOW!!! This blows the other Menard's (I had been to the now-closed Diversey and the obiquitous Clybourn/Wrightwood) out of the water. They sell EVERYTHING, even limited groceries, all manner of home appliances, a full lumber department, bathrooms and kitchens, even a limited selection of books and media. Very nice staff who actually seem to like working there. The sheer size of the store is a bit overwhelming (I spent two hours in there gawking and only spent $30), but I'll definitely return soon when we look for a new bathroom vanity, or a new washer. Maybe not the best if you're looking for only a couple of things and to get in-and-out quickly, but otherwise nice place. read more

I went today and purchased a patio set and the manager Lamont was excellent. I first I was bit hesitant because the young lady working that department didn't seemed to knowledgeable but.... She can be new so hey I can't be negative. Just a smile and a little training and she'll be great! However the manager was super helpful, nice, and made it fit in my truck he took out the set over and over until he made it fit and went out of his way to find string and tide my trunk. The only down fall the staff is a bit too serious and no one smiles. :(. I work in CSR so I notice these things. However Lamont made this customer give 5 stars... I am extremely disappointed with the delivery service of this purchase that I made with the Ontario Store on 11/11/18. The purchase was for a door to be delivered to my house and at no time was I informed the delivery would be to a store in Ohio and I would incur an additional expense over $200 for delivery of the door to my house. When expressing this disappointment with the employees on the phone (Troy and Rachel), they both were very apathetic about the situation and presented an (either you buy it or not) attitude. I was also informed that the guy who I placed the order with no longer worked for Menards so they could not question his process. The idea of not providing the customer with all the information up front to make an informed decision as to whether or not to buy your product(s) is deeply disturbing. It is unfortunate that time was of the essence, the door was ordered over a month ago, and its the winter season. Otherwise, I would have told Troy and Rachel to return the door and found a more reputable vendor for the purchase. Hopefully someone will look into a better course of action for this process and make an improvement for the next customer. Very Dissatisfied Customer Just experienced yet another disappointment with your business processes. After I paid the additional $200 to have the door shipped to my home, I received an email with a fed ex tracking number and link that took me to the DHL site - which told me that there was no such tracking number. (Not surprising). Called the store and the shipping supervisor that actually shipped the door told Mariah that he didn't get a tracking number because it was shipped as freight. (Smh) I decided to put the number directly into the Fed Ex site (not using the DHL link that Rachel sent, and (not surprising) the tracking number indicated the door is at the shipping facility here in Baltimore. read more

I recommend against shopping at Menards as they have outrageous shipping charges, and a horrible return policy. I bought two items, each weighing less than 3 ounces; let's say the combined shipping is 7 ounces. The items cost $10. The shipping: $9. That's an additional 90%. What it should be: USPS first class shipping cost is $1.99. Add an exaggerated $1 for the envelope and you now have $3; I'd tolerate $4 or $5. So their business model is to make a 200% profit on basic shipping. One of the items I ordered was the wrong part so a return was necessary. My TOTAL cost to return via the USPS was under $2. But these gougers demand you only use Fedex, which carries a charge of $9; what gives them the right to tell me how to spend my money? On top of that, Menards will charge me a 25% restocking fee. Outrageous. Do yourself a favor and find your parts elsewhere so you can save money on the purchase and not deal with greedy people who don't care about their customers. read more

I love Menards. I could spends hours on end shopping here. Specifically at this location because it has so much. Always clean. Charlie, I believe, in the appliances is a really awesome guy. Friendly, professional and best of all, not trying to be fake. Makes the store that much more welcoming. In addition to this, they always do the holiday setups. I loved these as a kid when the Menards on Diversey by Cicero was still open. I have a lot of fond memories and I like that with their massive upgrade, they haven't ruined any of it. I went to Menards and was treated like a kid by a so called Female Manager name Randy (flooring Dept). I went there and spent over a thousand dollars on flooring and because I try to buy a single one sample pc, she nasty and rude said there was a sign not to open boxes, which I did not see, when I confronted her to show me the sign she refused to listen and show me, instead she said she was not dealing with me, I asked to speak to a head Manager, mind you I didn't know she was one by the way she was reacting. she ignored me and blew me off, then she get's on the ear pc and tells somebody to come deal with these customer before she flips. I wished she would have. I went on to find another Manager but got no help. I want to report her to Headquaters and can't seem to get thru to nobody. Managers like that do not deserve the job, no matter what you should give the respect to the customer they deserve, specially if they are spending that kind of money in your store. At no time was I disrespecting her, I simply questioned her on her nasty behavior. read more

I appreciate the help Menards team members provide me when I am shopping there. I shop Menards in the Indianapolis area. I generally find what I need at a reasonable price. Today I was greeted by one of the associates, Tanner McVey. Friendly and made me feel like they were glad I was there. I fabricate special jigs and workstations at times and find Menards has plenty of options for materials that meet the need. read more

I love this new Menards! Whole lot better than home depot down the street on Cicero. It's cleaner and bigger than older Menards they closed on Diversey and Cicero or even better than other Menards on Diversey and Clybourn. This one has it all from appliances to patio furniture to pet supplies to even groceries! Makes you want you want to buy everything. The garden center even has a small playground area for kids. Anyways last time, I went to check out the flowers and soil I needed, I ended up spending more money than I planned. The nice lady (didn't read name tag) helped me pick out some nice flowers from biggest selection they had, she then pointed me out to soils. But then she was called away by radio she carried. (I think was rude) But then another guy employee came (Juan, and very cute smile) he also carried a radio but didn't left me. He helped me pick the soil, loaded my cart and showed me to cashier. But I also was looking for detergent and a mop. He walked me all the way to other side of store and showed me the selections. I have tried to order from Menards web site over and over. They have a flawed system. I have given up. The worst part is that they don't offer customer service that could easily rectify this error. But no, you have to contact a person by email and wait for a response. The person responding to me clearly did not read my message. read more

I ordered bifold doors and when they arrived there was a hole in the cardboard and a 2 inch square hole in the hollow core door. I informed Menards by email and was told they would check with the vendor for a solution. After a month of waiting they have not responded. I would not use them again. read more

I love this place. There are some very knowledgeable employees in this store but not the teens or younger employee that they tend to hire cannot provide guidance of where certain things are located. The hardware manager knows everything, she is awesome. The guy in heating cooling is also helpful and very informative. The store is generally well stocked and very clean. I tend to shop here over their competitors. read more
