Me waiting for a mirror watching the truck behind me get loaded - Photo taken from inside a vehicle showing the store's pickup entrance with glass doors, yellow safety posts, and workers visible in the side mirror.

First in line for a pickup in my truck. 2 customers showed up after me and got their orders first. It's been 30 minutes waiting for a couple mirrors. Terrible customer service at this Menards.

Now, however, they have a new trick. Buy a small canvas bag ($0.99 at any store--$2.50 at Ace Hardware, which tells you something about their willingness to gouge the customer for the same or poorer quality firewood) to load up with loose wood and cart it back to your car. Want more than one bundle? Either buy more bags or shlep the wood to your car on multiple back and forth trips. ABSOLUTELY GARBAGE BUSINESS MODEL. Lost all my business over that. No thanks, not interested in paying $2.50 for a sh@tty bag that at any other box store is a buck or less. When I called and complained, the manager's excuse? lmao "We can't control the vendors who aren't bundling it anymore." No, but you sure as @!#$ can choose to lower the cost of the bags, or just throw them in for free and charge an extra $1 for the bundle--bag the wood and have it waiting. For $7.50+ tax, I expect the wood to be in the bag and awaiting my payment and trip back to the car--ONE TRIP. NOT three or four shlepping loose wood back and forth. Lost my business, and you deserve to lose all of it. Will be spreading the word across social media to avoid this store like the plague.

I would rate 4.5 stars but the half star isn't an option. This is a good community hardware store…read morein a good location and most of the staff is friendly and helpful. Pricing is generally higher than big box stores but the value added is the personal service from the staff which is usually spot on. (And in fairness, they may not always be able to compete on some items as they have less volume on many things.). The recent expansion was a benefit to the community. That said, those of us who are long time residents remember the original Ace Hardware in the Town and Country shopping center that was the place to shop for just about anything in Kenosha. That store was a local icon. I have a feeling that with the right marketing that kind of store would go over well again in Kenosha. I also wish the store hours were a bit longer. But this friendly store is a community asset nonetheless.

It was my first visit to your restaurant though my wife has been here before with friends. Chad was our server. He pleasantly explained the drink and dining menus and took good care of us all evening. My bride had her favorite drink, The French Martini, and you guys nailed it for her! I was very happy with the 2025 Pils. Dinner was amazing, Skirt steak for her, brisket for me with Yukon potatoes following salads for both of us. The quality and taste of the food was great and makes us want to come back and sample other dishes. We received great service and a nice complimentary glass of champagne (with Ho-Ho's) to finish our celebration. At the end of the evening we received a big surprise when Chad came over with news that we had no bill to pay as my wife's daughter and her husband had secretly called to pay the tab! So thoughtful of them to treat us and to top off a memorable meal and milestone in our lives.

Went to Hardware in North Aurora and came away with mixed feelings…read more The good: ambiance is great and the drinks were on point. Had the Marilyn saison and a solid dark beer. Bar program is strong. The short rib pot pie was a straight up winner. Rich, comforting, and not trying to be anything other than good food done right. The bone marrow lost me. Cooked well, but buried under too many microgreens and then oddly topped with tortilla chip strips. No smokiness either. It felt more confused than cohesive. Where it really started to miss was the overall approach. A lot of "the chef intends this..." type explanations. It ends up feeling like the food insists upon itself instead of just letting you enjoy it. That's the bigger issue. This place exists in a space where I don't think most people want to meet it. Not casual enough to relax, not refined enough to justify the performance. Bottom line: good drinks, great pot pie, but the experience tries a little too hard.
