Special ordered a bathroom vanity. Waited months for it. When it arrived it was broken. When we were trying to return it the front end manager made no apologies for our issue and told us that we had to accept in store credit for the return due to how long ago it was paid for (as if we chose to wait months for an item we wanted immediately and then received the broken item). When trying to explain that we did not want in store credit, she would talk over me, and acted as though we were bothering her. Zero customer service skills much less any persuasive skills to try and show us the possible benifits of an in store credit. Instead she showed no interest in us or our issue. Beware when ordering an out of stock item from Menards. If it comes to you broken the manager will treat you like garbage for trying to return it for a refund. read more

went to buy foam board for a diy. first of all it was in barn 2 which we had to ask associates where it was and it was behind a building. we were first looking for a wooden board but thought of the foam board. if you know Menards the bigger buildings items in the barns DO NOT have prices but QR codes. I scanned the QR code and didn't look at the location or board just the price and decided on it. went to check out and they didn't honor it saying it was my phones fault for not redirecting to the location I was at. the assistant manager did not honor their FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. The cashier Marilyn got mad as we said we didn't want it and wanted us to return a 6 ft foam board. Horrible customer service. read more

We found a new refridgerator. Now knew things would be different especially with this China Virus going around but we were taking it in stride and willing to work with them. We had ordered an ice maker(extra charge) to be installed in the freezer. Had to wait a couple weeks for that to arrive. Fine. No big deal. So we waited. Got notification that it was in so we had set up our delivery. ($79 to go 2 miles plus $20 to remove the old). We thought fine, whatever, just wanted the old one to be removed. Then I called them the week it was to be delivered and they told me they aren't going to take the old one, but only set the new one on the driveway. Um no, so we cancelled the delivery/pickup. Had my father come up to help my husband pick it up and dispose of the old one ourselves. And then it really hit the fan. Because 3 different employees told me, when i canceled the delivery, I didn't have to set up a pick up time with them so I just mentioned I would be there the weekend of the 1st. Well, this weekend came. My Father came up. He and my husband went there to pick it up. My husband was handed the box with the ice maker (which was supposed to be installed). Then they went to the pick up area to pick up the fridge. They couldn't find it. Why? Oh! Because after I cancelled the delivery some idiot decided to move the whole fridge back ontonthe sales floor and they resold it! Not kidding. Not only was I dealing, nicely, with their over the top, ridiculous, virus procaution crap. Then they resold and already purchased fridge. My family and I, from now on will go to Lowes or Home Depot for any thing we need. I ended up purchasing a new, and much better fridge from Warners' Stellion today. It will be delivered and the old will be removed for only 25 bucks! Completely dissappointed in how Menards is running their show. Complete incompetence and horrible customer service. Usually a good spot to get building supplies. I have to give a less-than-great review because of their adoption of authoritarian rules. They wouldn't let me in without a mask today. Funny, just last weekend I was in there without a mask and they said nothing. There was a similar number of customers today as there was last week, so that's a non-arguement. I could understand if they'd gone to these measures right away when no one knew about this virus. Now, weeks later, we have data to show it's no worse than the flu, and they want to institute these restrictions. It makes no sense. In fact it makes the opposite of sense. I guess I'll just have to help in the demise of brick and mortar and order online. I really hope we get our heads out of our butts and get back to reality soon. read more

I had a good experience with the order pickup area. I had ordered two pairs of eye protection glasses, and the employee who brought them to me saw that they weren't the right ones. He took the time to find the correct ones, which I really appreciated. I'm a health care worker, and I needed to use them that night. As it turned out, a co-worker didn't have any, so the spare pair was also used. I wish I remembered the name of the employee, because he has been helpful before. I am pregnant and have Afib - Atrial Fibrillation. I become very out of breath at times and dizzy, I had to sit down during our visit, I pulled my mask off and I stayed clear of others, I was also tested for covid this week my results were negative. I understand I'm supposed to follow your rules but most stores say exempt if medical issues can be worsened. There was a manager today in the front taking over cashier positions who yelled at me, embarrassed me, and told me she did not care and I needed to leave now. She had not one second to even allow me to explain, we were actually on our way out. I've never been treated so poorly at any store. I put my mask on, I wasn't fighting with her. My bf says we will never come back to menards, I think they lost our business forever. I just feel that the management could be a bit more kind to the customers. I called and spoke to another manager who stated her behavior was excused due to the policies. This Menards is just terrible I have never been treated so rudely in my life at any store do not rent a Rug Doctor from there cuz it's junk they're renting out junk and then I was an hour late returning it because I was sitting there messing around with the attachment trying to fix it thinking I had broke it I hadn't even used it so and now they charged me for 2 days cuz I was an hour late cuz I was messing around trying to fix their junk I will never shop there again and I will tell everybody I know about this and I hope they go out of business cuz they are just terrible people there read more

I've spent thousands at this place in the past 90 days. Just bought new house up north.. This place has good deals like any Menards but it's a bit different here than your Coon Rapids or other More updated ones. So this place is a little outdated for its checkout system (lanes) but they manage to make it work out just fine. They can move some serious lines very quickly and always seem to have people on standby for just that. They seem to manage the people very nicely because i've never once had a problem and my receipt pile from the last 3 months is about 2 inches thick squeezed together. I've gotten a lot of rebates back and will keep spending them on rebates or free after rebate items for a long time to keep me coming back. One con i can find about any Menards right now is the Mail-in rebate checks come back in a readable format for others to see and steal or use easily. I think there should be another security feature added somehow to clear that up. Keep up the good work ! read more

Returned a rug doctor for a friend who is very ill. She has leukemia and went through a bout to where she could not return rental. It sat at my house for about 10 days. I had no idea what had happened to her until she had gotten a hold of me and asked me to return it for her. Now she only used it for a day and a half so I brought it back to Menards in Cambridge figuring with this Covid 19 going on they would be sympathetic to her being sick. Not a chance. After practically pleading with manager he finally agreed to not charge me for one of the days, WOW,! He said it is a rental, but yet there was two sitting there that hadnt moved. Cost- right about $400. I got ahold of customer service and talked to Randy, He was worse than the manager. He said finally that he would look into it. Never got back to me or answered my emails. Absolutely no empathy for the sick. She in no way can afford to pay me back and I really don't have $400 to throw around so about all I can do is put the word out. I will not ne spending another dime at menards and hope some of you reading this will follow through and hit Home Depot, Lowes...I am certain neither of those stores would have charged for the full 10 days read more
