But, alas, I must pass on this establishment for the following reasons: 1-In my over 40 years of collecting, I noticed that successful comic shops on LI have a certain 'jenesequa'....a community-nerd appeal that is hard to define. They are a little dark, in bad areas and rough around the edges (in a good way). They have survived gentrification with just a few scars. They are a place where you can befriend other nerds and talk shop for hours about Mexican foils, Maria Wolf and MCU plot fails. Sayville comics is small, bright and meticulous, like your grandmas high-tea room after she cleaned. If comic book shops are an experience, this store is a brand new bright lime-green neon sign that everyone must stay 15 feet away from. This approach probably works in higher end towns that cater to professional parents buying the latest expensive toy craze on tic tock for their children. I prefer other shops with more room, seasoned staff and less ostentation. Awful parking.

The store has a small Dungeons and dragons community and are very eager to welcome more groups. They are very OK with customers bringing pets as long as they are well trained, but the best part of the store are the two owners Francis and Bryan. They are extremely passionate hobbyist and strive to improve month to month and are dedicated to satisfy and welcome both old and new customers. The thing that annoys me the most, is people sometimes review this store harshly without giving the place time of day and my main goal with this review is simply to state this place is a store that brings communities together and deserves much more attention.

I drop off my son to this place for a video tournament event. The moment he saw it from outside ,…read morehe claimed that it is a very small place for gamers like them. When we walked in, he asked right away if how much many in numbers attendees are showing up for an event like this and asked if there is room enough for everyone. The associate said that they have their basement ready just in case it gets over crowded . Good plan b option when I heard the response. I stayed for few seconds to looked around but didn't stay long for there is really no room for watchers. They are selling video game accessories and seems they are prepared to hold an event. When I picked up my son after hours of gaming, he didn't mentioned much about the place but more of the event. Sounds like this place knows how to handle a real tournament . We might not come back for it is really far from where we are from. The means of commuting is not a good option for my son and his friends( we are from queens county btw) .

I've been buying, collecting and selling trading cards for years, and if you've been in this hobby…read morelong enough, you know how difficult it can be to find a card shop you genuinely trust. For years, whenever I sold cards, I walked away wondering if I had left money on the table or if someone knew more about what I had than I did and used that to their advantage. Unfortunately, that feeling had become something I just accepted as part of the hobby. Then I found this store. Since they opened, I've sold more cards here than I ever have anywhere else, and the biggest reason is Dan and Mike. These two are absolutely top notch. They know the hobby, they know the market, and most importantly, they are honest. When I bring a card in, I don't have to wonder whether I'm being given a fair assessment. They'll explain what they're seeing, what matters with the card, and how they're arriving at a value. If something is worth more than I realized, they're not going to conveniently forget to mention it. That kind of honesty is incredibly important when you're trusting someone with cards that can sometimes be worth a significant amount of money. I've also bought more boxes here and, somehow, have pulled some of the best cards I've ever pulled from boxes purchased from their store. Obviously nobody can control what's inside a sealed box, but I've had some unbelievable luck with the product I've bought here, including some of the biggest pulls I've ever had in all my years collecting. What really separates this place from other card shops I've dealt with, though, isn't the boxes or the inventory. It's the people. There is nobody I trust more with my cards than Dan and Mike. Whether I'm selling something, trying to figure out what a card is worth, or just looking for an honest opinion, I know I'm going to get a straight answer. I've never felt pressured, lowballed or like someone was trying to make a few extra dollars at my expense. If you're new to collecting and worried about not knowing enough, go here. If you've been collecting for 20 years and think you know everything, go here. If you've inherited cards and have absolutely no idea what they're worth, go here. And if you have valuable cards and want people you can actually trust to help you understand what you have, go see Dan and Mike. Finding a card shop is easy. Finding people in this hobby that you trust enough to hand over your best cards and know they're going to treat you fairly is something completely different. I found that here. Dan and Mike have earned my business and, much more importantly, they've earned my trust. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommend them to anyone in this hobby.

Just by driving around the area, you can easily miss this spot because it's in between a couple of spas. The businesses around it kind of throw you off. Luckily, I was driving slow and happened to see it. It's a small place. It wasn't busy -- I guess because it was raining. Upon entering, I saw one person working. There were tables set up and the person working -- who I found out that day is the owner -- was setting up for a Magic Card Tournament. I ended up buying more than I needed to from there. While he was scanning my stuff, we just had a small chit chat. I just wanted to know how long that store's been around...all that good stuff. That's when I found out he was the owner. Great guy. He put us on to some other conventions and events at his store. I recommend dropping by if you're around the way. Great store...and the owner is down to earth and pretty knowledgeable.
