Thus far I have good experiences with shop. It's not an easy Buisness model to run a hobby shop. I see serval complaints on this companies review stats (2 about bathrooms) and several other about broken RC cars and such. RC cars are designed to break in certain areas to prevent other areas from getting damaged, and ordering parts and repairing the RC cars and planes is a HUGE part of the hobby and an important learning lesson for kids. That being said when I went in there were only kids working the shop, but one of the gentlemen/kids was pretty knowledgeable. I think for what it is this is a good shop with a variety of things to offer. A 1 star review about not being able to use the bathroom is just rude and should not be warranted. I also thought for the stores location being in a upscale neighborhood the prices are decent. Also, about 3 years ago I stopped by with my younger brother and they let us drive the RC cars around in the parking lot which was fun. read more

For first time RC car purchases they usually have a variety and a lot in stock. Good amount of Traxxas parts too. But if you're looking for help with your RC then try another hobby shop. I've been sold wrong parts multiple times and have only interacted with one employee throughout my visits who actually seemed interested in RCs and were confident about the info they were giving out. read more

they have a new owner named Chris with that being said my new experience was horrible. If you're an RC guy, then you know spectrum batteries are under a warranty where you can send them back to the company and they send you new ones , since my receipts were from HobbyTown, the previous owner sent them out for me himself gave me a call when the new ones were in for me to pick them up no charge, this new owner Chris had the audacity to tell me he wasn't confident enough that they would change them to even try but yet he tried to take my batteries in the back with him to supposedly recycle them and all the reality he was going to send them out himself for his business to resell. Hobbytown just changed owners recently and we were pleasantly surprised at the care and outreach for the community the the new management has. The staff is welcoming and answers the phone quickly. They're all knowledgeable and the isles are immaculate and well stocked. We enjoyed looking at the variety of things. Located in the Bob's shopping plaza, the parking is plentiful and easy. The store is right near the highway and easy to get to. Chris (the owner) was especially helpful and knowledgeable, we will be going back!!!! read more

My first experience was very good. I was pleased with the selections available and the knowledge of the staff. One of the biggest things I noticed was it's dedication to the gaming community. Many of tables to game on. And for an old gamer myself. It lifted my heart. Ran into a young gentleman there who introduced me to Warhammer. He was not an employee, just a customer who was going to game against a friend in a little while. This told me just how warm the business was to its clientele and more about the people who shop there. Again I was very pleased. Prices are ok. Selection was good and abundant for many types of hobbies. I WILL be returning there and spending a lot more money. Lol read more

Experience could be better every time I went there to get something for my rc cars They would give me the things for the wrong car I told them I needed body mounts for the 2wd slash and they gave me a 4wd slash mounts and tried to sell me a x maxx Body when I told them i needed a slash body also prices are extremely high 37$ for 2 tires I'm mean 20 would be fine but 37 really? I also went in there to get my rc car fixed and they said I would have to spend 200$ for it to get fixed because of parts. Turns out the clutch was lose and I didn't need any parts. read more

Horrible experience with a return. My daughter wanted to buy me a new engine for father's day and the owner of the store sold her the most expensive 4 stroke OS has to offer in the size I was looking for. I went there with receipt before receiving engine and the store owner wanted a 15% restocking fee. After complaining he agreed to 10% restocking fee. He could have recommended a similar engine for half the price but sold my daughter the most expensive motor in that size. Completely unethical in my opinion and to make matters worse he charged me a restocking fee to take it back. Watch your wallet if you shop at this chain store. read more

I went to the store with a very specific list of parts that I needed for a RC project with my son. A gruff, older man was brought out from the back, and he "helped" me select parts. So far, none of the over-priced parts have been what I needed, and since the parts were either "on sale" or "on close-out" there is either a restocking fee, or they are not returnable at all. Basically, they guy didn't care. Hope he enjoys the $130 I spent there on useless parts. I will not be giving him any more of my business. read more

Not a fan of this shop at all. My husband bought our son an almost $200 RC car from here for Christmas and it has broken twice. When he has brought it in to get it repaired, the staff has told him to buy additional parts and essentially take care of it himself. Despite their claims of standing behind their products, they have been dismissive and not helpful at all. We will not be returning here. They lost our business. read more

HobbyTown has been very helpful as I got back into RC flying after a LOOONG hiatus...this time its helicopters. The RC flying hobby has changed so much in the past 20 years so I've had a lot of catching up to do. OK so I'm old enough to know what Dungeons and Dragons was/is and young enough to know a decent environment for toys when I see it. This isn't your high quality solution for Euro toys by any means but if you're looking for games for all ages this is a great start. Kites, puzzles, hobby trains, models of all kinds, and the standard craft-like options exist as well. This store is way overpriced for a Hobby Shop. When you walk in, they usually never have what you need and they always offer to order it for you at like double the online retail price. There is a salesperson there that is is also the General Manager and maybe even owner who's name is Mark. Mark is a condescending person and always makes you feel belittled when he talks to you. He does not know how to treat any customer and is a horrible addition to the retail world. Without Mark, maybe this store could succeed, but with him it is horrible. He will treat you as though he knows everything and you know nothing. The answer is always "no" at first with Mark and then it turns to yes IF they can help you, but otherwise it is useless to even walk in. read more
