The owner was working when we went in (around 5 on a Friday). When we walked in there was a group (3 or 4) teenagers or young adults (couldn't tell) that were painting and doing their own thing. Not busy. The owner was nice and attentive but seemed to be doing business wrap-up stuff behind the register. I told her I knew they closed at 6 and we'd be out by then (I wasn't sure if a late walk in was frazzling her). My daughter and I both picked our pieces and painted for an hour. The owner took care to label everything and tell us the instructions for pickup. I thought the price was reasonable. My piece was $25 and my daughters was $35. There's a $10 kiln fee per item and I tipped 20% (we needed extra paint). Anyway, it was fun! We got the text a week later to pick up our pieces and a store associate (not the owner) was there when we picked up. Our pieces came out beautiful! The associate spent some time with my daughter and showed interest in her piece. She also walked her through some of the other pottery there and made recommendations for pieces she could paint next time. We asked about birthday parties and she thoroughly explained everything to us and went into detail with her recommendations. All in all, I can't wait to go back again!

I learned what Board & Brush is about when I visited the website to choose my activity. They seem to be really popular as there were limited seats available. Upon searching for an activity on the website, I kept in mind I would be traveling back home on the Metro North and was seeking smaller crafts. I later learned there is a class for smaller crafts it just wasn't the one we chose. There is free parking outside in front of the location. Upon entering we were greeted by the staff and checked in. The staff showed us to our work station. Each table can host 6 guests. Our supplies were already at our stations. The décor in the establishment is absolutely stunning. The wall art is a mixture between the small crafts and the larger crafts. Here's a tip I didn't think about until it was too late, you'll be dealing with paint keep in mind what you wear. If you have a favorite shirt or shoes you wouldn't want to get messed up, they may not be the best to wear here. Thankfully I didn't get any paint on me besides my hands. I cannot remember the lady who assisted us but she was an angel. She was very patient with me as I'm not the best person to do arts & crafts. The other ladies at the table were very supportive also. This location allows you to bring snacks and wine. Don't be like me and accidentally eat someone else's snacks thinking the establishment set it out for everyone. Overall, I had a great time making my project. I wouldn't mind returning to Board & Brush however I would prefer to do the smaller crafts as oppose to the larger ones. Not only do the have pottery wheeling, but you can paint pottery, make soap, glass fuse and make candles too! It's such a huge space that makes it the perfect place for a fun time with friends. Went to a party for a 7 year old this weekend and the kids had a great time. The owner was there at…read morethe beginning and did face painting on the girls and then they got it sit down at their canvas and follow another instructor to paint their own picture. We were saying we've never heard this group of girls so quiet. We may have to bring them there every weekend. There was a little confusion on the length of the party and what they were supposed to do. Making slime was part ogoing to be "thrown in", but the party ended and they never got to make it. The party ended after 2 hours instead of 3, but really that was long enough.

The event consisted of a tour of the facility and an explanation of the glass working process, followed by a meal with wine and beer provided by neighboring restaurant 3 Thirty Three. After the refreshments the group of about 30 participants was encouraged to select a glass object in on display and then create their own version of the object with the expert help of the Kinship Glassworkers. The glass objects were various styles of drinking glasses, paper weights, and even a glass flower. You choose the colors and then help the artisans to execute the design. The even takes about 3-4 hours depending on the number of participants. $130 covers the cost of the food, drinks, and the glass object.
