You're in the Grindhouse, baby! Yes, when your watching the Grizzlies in the Grindhouse, it pretty much has the energy of GnR's "In the Jungle" during the whole game. My son and I had the pleasure of catching the Grizzlies v. NOLA Pelicans on our trip to Memphis. I had planned ahead and got tix online, which seemed very reasonable, but a scalper across from the Forum had them for 1/2 of what I paid (lesson learned). Check out the Grizzlies shop just as you enter for poppin' gear such as the recent playoffs shirts and cool straight-billed hats. I liked the local beer options- Ghost River had their own stop, and another 'local' beer station had Sweetwater, Abita, and other Southern craft beer options. Also cool was the sign of food vendors throughout the stadium, but it was slightly out of date. Still, I found Rendezvous, and had some of the best Nachos ever- pulled pork atop melted cheese with jalapenos, dusted with Vergos' signature rub. Heaven. Possibly the best Nachos, ever. We had a great time at the game, and their mascot Griz even rubbed my head (for good luck?), and is a high energy addition to the game. Gasol, ZBO and crew crushed the Pelicans, and are Playoff bound. Go, Grizzlies! read more

No rendezvous, no drinking or eating while watching the game, attendees have sticks up their butt worried about masks the entire time and won't let you enjoy the game. The attendees watched me like spies the entire time. Asked if I "could" read the sign outside in the hall. If you're not going to give the fans some leniency while already being socially distanced don't have fans present at all. Won't be back for a long time. AWFUL read more

The Grizzlies definitely put on a show. There is never a dull moment between the basketball action and the cheerleaders and t-shirt give-aways and the fun skits during the breaks. The halftime shows are so great you don't want to miss them. It seems like the Grizzlies go out of their way to make sure any extra seats go to local schools and other community clubs which helps make sure the stadium is full most of the time. The basketball action and teamwork is fantastic. NBA has now eclipsed the NFL as my favorite sport. I don't like that the beers are $9. It seems like beers shouldn't be more than minimum wage . read more

This was my first trip to the FedEx forum and also my first time getting to see the Memphis Grizzlies play! The stadium was HUGE, I have no idea how they could ever sell all the tickets to an event. With the way that the stadium seating is even though our tickets were for the top section I was surprised to find out that we could still see the court just fine. They had several neat shows they done in between quarters and at half time. All in all it was a great experience and I'm looking forward to seeing more Grizzlies games. read more

Love the team. The ticket office though is terrible. I've been a season ticket holder for nearly a decade. I attended what games I could, but my main goal was to supporting my city's team. When covid came, I wasn't comfortable attending when fans could return, so I sold most of the games. Some games I sold for $5 or $10 because I wanted the ticket used and a fan in the seat. To my surprise, I was blacklisted by the organization, without being told. Once I finally talked to someone, I was told it was because I sold 50% of my tickets. I didn't even profit from selling the tickets. I was able to get my ticket back for this season. This time, knowing the rule, I made sure not to sell 50%. I sold 3 of the biggest games, Lakers and Warriors. I know plenty of season ticket holders who sell their tickets to the big games as a way to pay for the rest of the season. Even though I didn't hit the 50% limit and only sold 3 games, I was still told I no longer can be a "MVP" and cannot renew for next season. As a season ticket holder for years, it's sad to see how fans and season ticket holders are treated now. read more

I recently became a Memphis Grizzlies fan and I came to the FedEx Forum to watch the Grizzlies play. It certainly helped that they won (beat the LA Clippers), but my experience was awesome. Even for buying upper bowl seats, the view was still great and the atmosphere was awesome. Even walking up to the stadium, you can tell that it is a very nice complex and feels very modern. If you are in town and have not seen a Grizzlies game, I highly recommend going even just for the experience. read more

Back before we had the grizzlies I was skeptical - we didn't need a nba team or a fancy new stadium - and in the beginning iwhen victories were small and so were the crowds I thought I was right and the forum would become another abandoned building downtown. But along the way the grizz won their way into my heart before they were winning playoff games. First off, as an organization the Grizz are big supporters of the community, and lets face it - Memphis needed that. Second, the players pretty much make the news for playing basketball or doing charitable work, I like that, this is not the town for big egos and we have plenty of foolishness already. Third, the team is accessible to the entire community with lots of community events, meet and greets and affordable tickets. Seriously, you can get a ticket for a little more than the cost of a movie, and the "cheap seats" actually have a good view of the court. And finally, the games are fun to go to! Lots of crowd involvement, lots of entertainment during time outs and just a good atmosphere in general. So man was I wrong, Memphis DOES need the Grizz and hopefully for many years to come The Grizz will need Memphis. read more

I love the Memphis Grizzlies. I became a fan early last season when a guy took me to a game on a date. While that relationship didn't last, my love for the game did. I've been hooked ever since. :) Anyway, the Memphis Grizzlies are an NBA team in the Western Conference. Their home court is the FedEx Forum, located on historic Beale Street. You have to shell out $5-15 for close parking, but you can park on a side street or South Main for free if you don't mind walking. Word to the wise: You don't have to pay the meters downtown after 6:30PM (I think, may be 6PM or 5PM) on weekdays or at all on weekends. Just be sure to follow the street signs, because you WILL get a ticket if you park in a no-parking zone. Even if you have to pay to park, you're still getting a deal. Why? Because Grizzlies tickets are some of the cheapest in the NBA. Try to attend an away game, and you'll see what I mean. The games themselves are very well-executed. The Grizz announcer, Rick Trotter, does an excellent job at keeping the crowd hyped up. Joey Thorsen and the "Claw Crew" execute giveaways and fun activities during time-outs and halftime. Even if you're sitting in the "nosebleeds," known formally as the terrace, it's still a great time. You'll find more of the hyped-up, true fans up there, so I honestly think it's more fun to be up there than the lower bowl. The players are great. Unfortunately in Memphis, it seems as though one needs to either be a Tiger's fan or a Grizzlies fan. Obviously, it doesn't have to be that way, but here is why I choose to go to more Grizzlies games than Tiger's games (and I do go to both and cheer on the local team). First, it is a world class arena, regardless of whether you attend the Grizzlies, Tigers, Disney on Ice, or Taylor Swift. It is a venue that Memphians should be proud of. Second, I'm not a huge fan of the parking situation downtown, but I suppose most reviews of downtown areas would have that. Third, right now, I am writing this in the off-season after the Grizzlies were in the playoffs, so admittedly, going to the games was exciting if you like basketball. Right now, the Grizzlies have a competitive team with exciting players. Back in 08, that wasn't the case, but it is now. Finally, I like to attend Grizzlie games because not only do I get to see the hometown team, I get to see Kobe Bryant, Tyreke Evans, LeBron James, Derrick Rose, etc on the other team. You will always recognize someone on the other team, if not multiple players. For Tiger games, I see them play Rice, Tulane, and Tulsa. I still love to go to Tiger games, but I just prefer the higher level of competition. read more

Approximately eight years since my last Grizzlies game and understanding that it's a completely new team, was extremely underwhelmed by the team's lackluster effort against the Denver Nuggets and found the overall experience disappointing. The noise level is off the charts regardless of what sounds are being emitted, and the incessant music during the game is distracting and totally unnecessary (doubt the players find it entertaining either). The play announcer sounded as if he had just been pulled out of bed and remained in a half stupor the entire game, and the entertainment revolved around young children promoting team swag (at exorbitant prices) whose irritating voices were only surpassed by those of the MC's. And while the concession prices are probably consistent with most sports venues, be ready to make several trips to the ATM for $4 soft drinks, $5 bottles of water, $8 beer and $10-$12 servings of artery clogging food! Positives: 1. Seated in Pinnacle section: good view and decent pricing ($32/seat). 2. Very courteous ushers/staff. 3. Generally clean restrooms. 4. Minimal security check and quick check in. 5. Made it to/from the car two blocks away unscathed. And, as a bonus, rubbed shoulders with Memphis nobility: none other than "Key Glock!" Would have never know he existed had it not been for my younger son pointing him out. Always a cultural experience. Enjoy if YOU go! read more
