But my wife wanted to visit the Memphis Botanic Garden for her birthday, and somehow this place turned me into a calm, peaceful woodland citizen for a few hours. First off, the weather was absolutely perfect, which already gives nature a huge advantage. Then you walk the grounds and realize this place is legitimately beautiful. Ducks casually living their best lives, koi fish gliding through the water like they pay property taxes there, birds chirping, flowers everywhere, waterfalls and water features--it's like stress gets checked at the front gate with your $12 admission fee. And let's not overlook the fact that there were food trucks... and one of them was selling cocktails. Suddenly being outside didn't seem so unreasonable anymore. What surprised me most was how peaceful the entire experience felt. It genuinely pulls you away from the noise of everyday life and drops you into this quiet little zen mode you didn't know you needed. Also, if you're planning a wedding or outdoor event, this place is loaded with gorgeous spots that look like they came straight out of a magazine. Seriously, every few steps felt like another "this would be an amazing wedding photo" moment. When the weather cooperates, this place is hard to beat as a happy place. Even for people like me who normally consider "the outdoors" a temporary inconvenience.

Every path leads to something new--vibrant blooms, hidden corners, and stunning landscapes that make you stop and go "okay wow..." at least 20 times. Whether you're wandering through the themed gardens, snapping aesthetic pics, or just soaking in the calm, it's the ultimate reset button from real life. And let's talk about the vibes--immaculate. It's romantic, relaxing, and somehow inspiring all at once. One minute you're strolling through gorgeous greenery, the next you're planning your entire future garden like you suddenly have landscaping skills Perfect for a chill day, a cute date, or just getting lost in something beautiful, the Memphis Botanic Garden is a must-visit gem. 10/10--nature really showed off here

Leaving festival-goers with a wonderful experience Memphians & visitors alike will remember for a lifetime that they'll return next year for another wonderful experience. When it comes to Festivals in the Memphis area i've always enjoyed The Memphis Italian Festival compared to Music Fest & a variety of others which seem to offer very little or nothing in entertainment value. This is the one festival I look forward to every year as I enjoy the games vendors, food, family & fun every last weekend in May. Whenever I attend festivals such as the Memphis Italian Festival. I'm always going around to each vendor & see what each vendor offers. I'm always left amazed discovering a vendor that I've never heard about before. The vendors I discovered in years past I still shop with some of them or refer them by word of mouth like here on Yelp or social media outlets. What also impresses me being & is a highlight for me would be the cooking demos & every year they start out with last year's sauce winners who'll do a cooking demo of their favorite Italian dish. When the demonstration is over audience members get to sample what was cooked by the cooking team. When the cooking team is done they'll be a local restaurant ready to give the audience a demonstration of their dish. The chefs from the restaurant that are representing will show everyone how they cook their appetizers or entrees. After they've finished showing the audience on how they made their dish everyone gets to sample what was cooked & enjoy it. The biggest closer to a majority of Festivals would be the bands they've asked to perform for festival-goers. Every year Memphis Italian Fest will always have a big name band perform at the end of the night closing out the festival. This year's band happened to be Ingram Hill & I thoroughly enjoyed the show as they're my favorite band. Every year is hit or miss when it comes to the music acts but for the past 3 years I've enjoyed Gin blossom Train and of course Ingram Hill. That's just a small variety of what is offered & I would recommend to anyone looking for a simple inexpensive ($10-$15 admission) festival to attend. This would be the festival to enjoy with your family and friends. I have thoroughly enjoyed it every year regardless of what some yelpers on here had to say comparing it to other festivals in a unfair comparison. I would like to say in closing enjoy the festivities & make memories with others around you to remember for a lifetime Be sure to like Memphis Italian Festival on FB and tell a friend. https://www.facebook.com/MemphisItalianFestival/

Between the music, dancing, vendors, contests, and FOOOOOOD, I wanted to spend the whole weekend here. Yeah, it might rain, but this is Memphis and it is May...so you kinda expect it...and deal with it. Plus, it gives you the chance to wear those cute rain boots you bought for 50% off that one time. If you haven't been, you're missing out so remedy it ASAP. Go ahead and put it on your calendar since it only happens ONCE A YEAR!!!!

Event staff pleasant and efficient...no outside food or water allowed at this point...and they check! Seating currently is at half capacity...which is cool. Food trucks and 3 bars that i noticed (limited drink menu but covers the basics with one "speciality" drink)...event could benefit from a little more food truck variety in the cuisine-last night there were 3/4 "mexican variation"...nothing really "lite" plate... minimal if at all, veg or vegan. Soundcheck...we were "front row"...a little too close to really be a valid judge...it was great...but vocals sometimes got lost in the instruments from where i sat - not an accoustic critique at all so you know. Parking was the bomb...honestly, i was having heart palpitations driving over...been to these things before where you cannot get out sometimes until "everyone" leaves and its dark thirty and your car finally frees up...NOT the case here...beautifully executed...in and out was easy / breezy!! Music there has a hard stop at 9:30...its an enjoyable early summer evening of entertainment and fresh air...in "the garden". So plan ahead...Great Summer line-up, get your tickets today

Memphis Botanic Garden is already my top Memphis attraction (how strange is it we go to a city to…read moresee what it could look like without a city?) "Live at the Garden" is equally great! This was the first time attending a show. Dennis DeYoung of STYX fame (another Chicagoan, just gotta' say) put on an incredible show, made even better by the garden surroundings and fireworks. We purchased the "Lawn" tickets, a real bargain as large screens provide a great view. The sound system was high quality at comfortable levels. As you would expect, not a rowdy crowd. In my estimate most qualified for an AARP membership, not a bad thing though. These people are experts at living (you will likely see your dentist in the crowd for example) I always mocked whatever GM vehicle, road-tripping past me on the Interstate with a "hanging clothes bar" across the vacant back seat; then I got one, these people are GENIUSES! Apologies for the life experience tangent. Suuuuper laid back. Coolers full of snacks and adult beverages are welcome inside after an inspection. We went to Memphis' new Trader Joe's (finally) and loaded up on treats. If you have a cooler with wheels, or a wagon, bring it for the long walk. Folding chairs, blankets, insect repellent, sunscreen, some had little battery operated fans to stay cool. If you don't feel like carrying in food and drinks, vendors are on site to sell everything you need. Parking was free (check the maps re: the lot locations). TIP: Back into your parking space, makes it easier to get out, and farther is better, as you are nearer the exit. Hope to catch another show here! Approved!
