Cash only. This a very popular family run restaurant. It's huge inside., so we didn't have to wait to get a table even though they were packed. All the staff are super nice, do friendly conversations with everyone. The front page of the menu has a nice background story of the restaurant's name, ownership and its location. The menu itself has so many variety of dishes. I got the lobster benedict, such a great dish. Perfectly poached eggs, lots of lobsters in between the English muffins, loved it. The mickey mouse pancake was also good. I saw them making some colorful fancy mimosas as well. The head chef yells out the servers name and the dish that is ready to go from the kitchen. We sat next to the kitchen and got full experience lol. There were also plenty of servers, I counted about ten or so. Hence service was top notch. There was no delay on drinks or food. Surprisingly there was no wait and inside was very spacious with many different sections. They would only seat you if the entire party arrives. Also the staff told me there was another parking lot on the side. They have the open kitchen concept. You can hear the chef calling out tickets and running the kitchen. Cool like Chef Ramsey's Hell's Kitchen show. Food was fantastic . I loved my crab cake Benedict. Flavorful, tender, eggs were cook beautifully. I wished the crab cakes were bigger tho. Always a place I wanted to check out as well as heard about. Cash only fyi. Popped in after church with the gf and her service dog and when we pulled in the parking lot was full. There was a handicap spot open but didn't feel comfortable parking there without a tag. Found a spot and as we walked to the front someone had parked there but not at all lined up and would have made it much more difficult for someone else who parked besides them. We were initially waiting to check in, place was busy and there was no real order at the front. People walked in and there was a bit of a bottleneck. Noticed there was counter space available so we pro moved ourselves there which was the move. Lots of options on the menu, all looked delicious in their own ways. I ordered the lumberjack with a side of home fries which was very filling to say the least. Gf ordered a veggie sandwich which she very much enjoyed. I don't understand how this place consistently gets over four stars. I mean it's.. fine. It's ..adequate. But I'll tell you, their home-fries are some of the WORST I've ever had, at any breakfast restaurant. If you like soggy, mushy potatoes, with zero crispy edges and a bunch paprika thrown on the top, then this is your place. They've got a fairly large menu and a lot to choose from, but I've just never been wow-ed by anything I've gotten there. It's also noisy and cash only. It's in a well traveled location and has lots of seating. Perhaps that's really the reason it's "popular". Parking sucks. All the service staff is pretty nice. You never get a bad meal at Memo's but.... FYI. They only take cash. I didn't realize that. They tell you after the fact. However they do have an ATM for you with a $2.99 fee. Another FYI. This was my fathers favorite restaurant in our neighborhood- he was absolutely amazed by the close knit atmosphere and the amazing portions! The portion of hash was excellent , one of my pet peeves is when the item is in the description of the item and it's the smallest item on your plate . It's hash and eggs . Not eggs with a side of hash . It was very good , eggs cooked perfect and Italian toast . And got a side of hash browns with toast , all very reasonably and the service was excellent. This place came recommended by a friend and I have to say, we had super high hopes for it but it was lacking in a few areas for us to really be able to love it. First off, CASH ONLY! There is an ATM inside. Second, be prepared to wait, this place is popular. The wait was about 20 minutes for a table for 3 at 11am on a Friday. Not too bad of a wait at all. There are counter seats that are first come, first serve available. Service was VERY friendly. Everyone we encountered had a smile on their face and they made sure our coffee never got low. Food: I had the Crab Benny- it came out very cold. I was SO disappointed. Nothing worse than cold eggs. Docked a star for this. My two friends dishes came out piping hot and mine wasn't even lukewarm. The flavor was generic, nothing unique and the Hollandaise sauce was pretty thin. My homefries were cut so thick it was like eating a baked potato. Banana Chip Pancakes - tasted like chocolate chip banana bread, very good! Sausage gravy- $1.75 for a side! I was shocked at the price. Anywhere else it would be $4. This was awesome. Waitress said it was homemade. Very good, creamy, thick, wish it had a little more sausage in it. Meatlovers Omelette- my friend made the mistake thinking this came with cheese. It did not. It was just a bunch of meat and scrambled eggs. It was meh. Homefries- my friends side of homefries was way better than mine. His were cut smaller and more crispy. They went really well with the sausage gravy. Atmosphere- it's going for that down home vibe in there but the walls and such are pretty bare. Some of the stuff seemed very disjointed decor-wise. The Easter Egg tree looked super cute though. When we got there, there was a wait but plenty of room at the bar, so we sat right away. This place was packed, people kept coming in, and now I get why. The service was great everything came out pretty quickly, we were in and out within an hour. I was surprised since there were so many people. We each got a mimosa flight, there were a lot of options for mimosas so why not try 4? For alcohol mimosas are all they serve but the variety is very nice. The food was also very good, some of the best eggs Benedict around for sure. They have a lot of options for eggs Benedict as well. I got the California Benedict which was Canadian bacon, spinach, tomato, on an English muffin and it came with home fries with the option to get them loaded with onions, peppers and cheese (obviously yes). I've only gotten breakfast here because it's hard to stray away from what they do so we'll. And I'm usually here early in the day. My go to breakfast is the corned beef hash Benedict with home fries. The home fries are a must! Recommend getting them with peppers , onions and cheese. The waitstaff are always friendly and hustle as this place gets busy. The cost of everything has gone up everywhere the last 2 years and some places have really increased their prices. Memo's hasn't taken advantage of this and do not gouge the patrons. I will continue to travel 30 minutes to have a great breakfast and possibly check out some lunch items in the future. read more

We stayed overnight at the MGM and were looking for a place nearby for breakfast. (We live in Long Island, NY) I checked out the Yelp recommendations nearby and noticed one in particular that highly recommended Memo's with a mention of a waitress named "River." I told my husband that this place had great reviews and some highlighted home made corned beef hash (my favorite)! We arrived at Memo's around 9:30 am on Saturday! The parking lot was full so we parked on the street. I was concerned we would have to wait, but were immediately greeted and seated. This place is deceiving from the outside because it's so spacious inside. We were seated on a corner booth and asked did we want any coffee or drinks. A really soft spoken waitress walked over and introduced herself (kindest eyes). I asked her, "what's your name again?" And she replied "River." I said, "Oh my goodness that's why I picked this place!" Anyway, my husband ordered steak and eggs which came with yummy home fries. He really enjoyed it! My corned beef hash and eggs was so delicious. River was friendly and came over to the table often to see if we needed anything else. This place seems to be a favorite in the area, however despite it being busy the staff seems happy and works efficiently so the wait on food isn't long. I loved this place and how friendly the staff appear to be. It's nicely decorated and restrooms are very clean. On our way out I noticed they also had freshly baked muffins behind the counter. I'm also glad I got to meet River and try this wonderful place during my stay in Springfield. I can't wait to be in the area to eat here again. My sister and I go there for lunch every now and then. We often sometimes order breakfast instead of lunch, which is a plus option. I ordered the pancake last time I was there. They did not taste as good as the last time I was there they seem to be dry and tasteless. The owner and the staff were very concerned about my order. However, they did not convince me that they were OK. I love going there. It's a good place to eat. The food is normally very good. I'm do not put the blame on anybody it just was an off thing. They do have Real syrup but they charge $1.95 for a small cup of it. À la cart. I have no problem with that because Maple syrup is quite expensive. I sat at the counter, service was prompt with my order arriving within minutes. My pea soup was disappointing, bland nearly flavorless which was hard to believe as it was chock full of ham. Unfortunately, this ham was virtually devoid of any flavor at all. But then my fortune turned dramatically, my turkey dinner was extraordinarily delishes. Fresh roasted perfectly cooked moist turkey couldn't have been any better so too was the dressing, mash potato and the gravy was especially flavorful. My husband loves this place....I am not really fond of it. Their food isn't that great. We go on the weekends when they are busy and have found more often than not, the wait time for coffee refills or even to get the server attention is too long.
