I have driven by this park hundreds of times, but this time I finally took the time to visit it while I enjoyed a locally roast cup of coffee from a nearby coffee shop. The park offers a nice lush well maintained green belt. The park has a very nice amphitheater with a cool stage as well. It offers restrooms, plenty of mature trees and palm trees for shade, and a nice walking or running area that cuts through and around the park. I did spot a few homeless people using the facilities and an individual crashed out in the shade of a tree, but who can blame him for that. Nice park. read more

While Memorial Park might not have swing sets or activities for kids, it is home to a handful of events throughout the year. It is a relaxing shady park that features a stage and seating perfect for hosting events or even a wedding. On Sundays, you can visit and enjoy the farmers market foods. Grab a bite and sit down and enjoy your food. During the holidays you can catch Dia De Los Muertos event in November and Starlight Parade event in December. The lemon festival and many many more events all located in or around Memorial Park. There is a parking garage that features 3 levels at F street and Third, so come early during events as parking is always FREE! Need to charge your electric car? They got you covered. While street parking mat not always be available, as most events block the entire street, there are other parking areas you can easily walk from. The library is about a block away as well and offers free parking during events. Want to take a stroll during the weekend and bring a picnic thats exactly what this park is for! Bathrooms are available and pre-warned no doors on mens or women's. Overall have been coming to this park throughout the years to experience all the events and beautiful days it has to offer. read more

So for few weeks at 6:30 we go to enjoy showing here with Chula Vista Run and Walk club I need to be pushed more and we met Ashley and her wife at a Yelp event she created a Run & Walk club it's so great to get and feel great, and walk 2+ miles hear all the 5k runs going on half marathons going on all around Settle, and here San Diego We support each other and after we hit Balboa South for food or drinks but yesterday we decide not go after So come out and join us at the park at 6:30pm it's a great group of people and have guest speakers to on other 5k or 10k happening San Diego. at Memorial Park We have large group and always welcoming more to come out read more

The homeless situation is out of control here. We were having a picnic with our two babies, and a homeless man came up to us and started screaming about how we're from Texas (Texas longhorns blanket.) and threatened to harm us. We called the police and told him to go away. We moved and he followed us around. Police never came. Saw like 8 more wandering around drugged out on a weekday morning. We haven't been back except in farmers market days, which they seem to be able to clear them out for. We love the farmers market here on sundays. Wish we could enjoy it other days, too. read more

For the many parks that I have been the one that I saw today had all the many things for the many parks are usually off the beaten path and many are far out of the city. The one park that I had visited today was in the center of the city of Chula Vista the many busses and the stops close by the main street of third ave. With the City of Chula Vista you see the see the many bench areas arriving at the Chula Vista Memorial the park is clean smoke free and the connections to the city is one of the best parks with the restaurants and stores you have near by. I like to see a park that has some of the many years for the history of parks that have so many great years and the historical years of the park and the connection to the city. The city of Chula Vista has many historical and older places of the city the park has the length and the many views that you can look to see the many parts of the city. I was looking for a sign to to see the name of the park the block sidewalk signs had guide signs that gave the names and locations. The Memorial had all the makings of a park the long and the trees that line the park welcoming to the many families of the city . As a Yelp Elite Reviewer the many parks that I have traveled to this has been one of the best in many areas there was missing some of the play ground areas . Of the many parks you can come and have some of the best . A great place for the family and have the best time for the family events the city parks are to be the best . read more

The good news is that this is a spacious park in Downtown Chula Vista. It has plenty of trees that provide shade a nice grassy area to relax in the shade and people watch. With the exception of a few birds you'd see at your back yard bird feeder, I saw no wildlife unless you count the local teens which added to the people watching. I like that there's a memorial to veterans. I did not like it that the restroom was locked. Even worse was the fact that the fountain was gone. I used to visit the Fountain on Tuesday nights when I was emcee for the San Diego Bluegrass Society Open Mic at Fuddruckers also gone due largely to the scamdemic. Memorial Park is my dog's halfway point of her 3-mile morning daily walk. We enter the park on 4th Ave and Park Way near the Park & Rec Gymnasium and exit the park at 3rd and G across the street from La Bella's. It's unsecured so if you let your dog(s) off-leash, they should be trained enough not to run off, or obey you if you called them back. There's several dogs which frequent the park at the time we walk through there. All the dogs and their owners seem ver friendly and welcoming. The number of stools found on the grass are similar to other parks. Just be careful if the grass length is high since it can be difficult to see stools deep in the tall grass. Our dog loves this location and runs happily around the length of the park when she's not leashed. There's plenty of stations with doggie bags, as well as trash receptacles throughout the park. A wide sidewalk runs through the park from west to east so if the grass is wet due to earlier rain or heavy morning dew, you can walk through the park without soaking up your shoes. Lastly, there is ample parking for those not walking to the park. I love Memorial Park, but even more, our dog loves it and your dog will too! read more

I go there for the Chula Vista run club and we love it. There's plenty of parking. Clean, and dog friendly!

This park feels like an incomplete thought with a blueprint for something greater. It feels more like a greenway to get to Third Street. There is an amphitheatre and a grove of palms with stone memorial for vets. Some benches or picnic tables would be a nice addition. read more

I come here to walk (and for Pokémon Go), but I wouldn't stay for long. I get scared sometimes. The homeless people aren't my concern, but like a lot of people mention, there's quite a bit. It's the OTHER people that I'm afraid of (especially at night). It's not a well-lit area at night. You have weirdoes hanging around, doing drugs, drinking & smoking marijuana, & you hear them screaming at by passer/cars/bicyclists/joggers, etc. The park itself, it's not family friendly like most people say on here. I look at the benches and ground, and most of the homeless people are sleeping there or its their bathroom destination. There is supposed to be like a small river? It's all dried up. Some vandalism here and there, but I don't think it makes much of a difference. I don't consider this place a "park". You just really have to walk by it, and be ashamed of it. read more

Cute park right in downtown Chula Vista. It has a (currently dry) stream bed running through it. Lots of huge trees for impromptu picnics and an amphitheater. If you're in the neighborhood and feel the need to walk barefoot in green grass (we've all been there), check it out. read more

I used to go to this park as a teenager. It was a cool place to hang out. Now it seems like it is still a cool place but for more shady people. Overall, the park itself if well taken care of and still pretty to look at. read more

This " Park " doesn't have a play ground for the little ones, but it does have a lot of green if your little one like rolling around the grass. This park haves a long side walk for walks and bike rides. read more

Beautiful park that is kept up with gorgeous grass and is very clean. The only negative is that it's full of shady people. Like homeless, druggie people. I wouldn't mind taking a stroll but I don't feel that safe as to doing it alone. Clearly there is some drug activity going on but other than that it's pretty nice. I come here for group workouts and we have never been bothered by other patrons here. read more
