There is no way for them to tell if the system is working at any time. After switching to Bank of America Santander somehow kept my checking account open with a -amount they sent to the rogue company. My account is fairly new only about a month old and the idiot banking manager who opened the account gave me the wrong routing number! I had just started my new job and gave them all my banking information and when it was time to get paid guess who didn't get paid. And on top of that the same day I was supposed to get paid my car note was also due. Santander charge me and my account was overdrawn. I had to wait an additional week just to get paid again and they took half of my paycheck. I called customer support and explain the situation and the best the supervisor told me is they can only pay me back $30 and give the banking manager training...... Like what the hell is that going to do for my bills! Why should I have to suffer because of the negligence of this idiot! I am so pissed I am shutting down my account ASAP. The CC branch staff were friendly and they mostly did what they needed to...eventually. But the Ashmont branch has much more competent staff. Eastern Bank is one of the few local banks you have to choose from in Boston, and you should. If you're still putting your money in Bank of America or Citizens you are either a FOOL or a greedy capitalism who doesn't care if your money is improving your community and the world. If it's the former, go ahead and make the switch. If it's the latter, carry on. I just probably don't want to know you personally.

There is a good sized parking lot in the back of the building so parking is never a problem here. There is a even a restroom here which I don't often see at banks and it is a great convenience to have. They were quick to help me set up what I needed, informative of my options, and understanding of my situation. While there I also saw compassion as another male employee filled up a dog bowl for a thirsty dog outside and compassion for parents who were worried that their child with special needs who couldn't control their volume was not in any way an issue. I would highly reccomend this bank to anyway based on principle, policy, and polite customer service. I will never bank anywhere else.
