There's not much to Meltdown--just a small takeaway counter with four tables outside--but it serves delicious melted sandwiches for a good price. We visited on a 11°C day, and while it was a bit chilly dining on the sidewalk, it was worth it.
I ordered a ham and cheese croissant from the breakfast menu, and my wife ordered the Hey Presto (Homemade Basil Pesto, Chicken, Tomato, Red Onion, Garlic Mayo, Mature White Cheddar on Sourdough Bread.) I was happy with mine, but my wife was ecstatic with hers. It was huge and delicious.
I don't know if this qualifies as a complaint or comment, but the only downside was how messy they were to eat. Wrapped in paper, the melt sticks to the paper, and my croissant tore apart quickly. (I almost could've eaten it with a fork.) Meltdown has great quick food for a good price, but come prepared to make a bit of a mess. read more
