Really enjoyed visiting this no frills, maximum taste sandwich shop. Ok so maybe there's better sandwiches I've had across the world but what they do here is good honest deli subs with fresh ingredients and some good variety on the menu. I visited 3 times in a week - first off the breakfast selection is pretty good, I opted for the bacon and avocado roll which really hit the spot! For lunch the special roast pork one was also right on the money. Not bad coffee too. Overall a decent place to sit in or to get a quick snack to go. 7 Euros for a sandwich and a coffee.

Too much yumness in one spot

I said I wasn't going to review it as it was their first day. But dyu know what, I actually don't see why not. As first days go, I have to say it was pretty goddam perfect. Things I loved: - The friendly greeting we got from the chef / owner / lads when we came in. Excellent customer service with a smile and a bit of craic - exactly what you want on a lunchtime break - The sambo. Sweet jesus it was so good. I took a giant risk and went for the cauliflower, feta, pinenuts & pickled lychee combo. Yep it's a weird one. But it was SO flavoursome and seriously good. It wasn't massive, but actually to be fair it was just the right amount. - The brownie. Rich, decadent and difficult to finish to one's self. - The branding / decor - very of the current 'pared down' school of thought. I'm sure you won't need me to go into it as it's being replicated around the place a million times over, however that doesn't mean to say it's not perfect. Things I didn't love: - Nothing! Keep doing what you're doing lads! (I am reserving the five stars to see what they come up with next, once the full menu is in full swing)

Why do people under rate sandwiches. It's like chips, if they're done well, they're amazing. These sandwiches are amazing! So amazing that when I arrived at 2pm, they'd sold out of their special. No worries, we had the club and the meatball and split them. Honestly, I think the club is right up there as nicest sandwich in Dublin. Everything tasted fresh and even the bread itself was delicious and warm. Will 100% be back and earlier next time so I can try that porchetta special!

Chicken and salad for a fiver! Nice one!

Tasty fillings on a fresh and crispy roll. Winning! I'm delighted to say that I received the first sandwich ever served by dough boys, a club dough to be exact. And boy was it good! Turkey, bacon, lettuce, cheese, tomato and some wonderful sauce (god knows what it was...chipotle maybe?) My favourite part? Probably the cheese...it was a good mature white cheddar. The bread itself was also amazing!!! Fresh and crispy...just like it should be! The lads who run the place are great craic and incredibly friendly too! They even gave me a free coffee which was super nice of them!! I'll be back!

Yup. I agree with the 4 stars. Have had a few salads in here lately and they were quite tasty. Nice range with good ingredients. Lemon Pepper Chicken or Beet & Goats Cheese. I haven't tried the sandwiches but they sound amazing such as the California Chicken. Nice range of cookies too. Nice that's it's around the corner and never that busy that you have to queue for long.

I went to doughboys during the week from a break from studying, and was I in for a treat! The service was quick and fast, and it was very busy, so I was thinking to myself this must be a good place to eat, and I was excited to try it, and I was not disappointed! Will 100% be calling back especially since it's just located on harcourt street not from dit! The porchetta on Thursday & Friday is delicious and the various specials are usually excellent. For everyday recommendations you can't go wrong with the California Chicken!

With just a few small tables and chairs outside, the standing room only interior is a picture of economy. These were my first impressions as customers steadily streamed inside to place orders and then leave to wait for their sandwich or sit a bit. My eyes locked into the pastrami melt sandwich on the menu and I waited my turn, albeit a bit nervously, to place my order with one of the three gents who were slinging the sandwiches. All the ingredients in the deli case looked fresh, from the lettuce, meats, cheese, etc, to the types of bead on top of the case, like the focaccia. Each sandwich is made fresh, and once assembled, is pressed to warm the roll and melt the cheese. My pastrami melt arrived loaded with the meat, and all the ingredients enhanced by the deli mustard made for a great tasting sandwich. It's probably the best pastrami sandwich I've tasted in a long while. Every employee was patient and helpful, and I found this to be quite an effort since customers kept placing orders without much of a break. The Pig & Heifer is definitely worth a repeat visit.

If you're dining in, you order at the counter and get a table number to place wherever you decide to sit. There's plenty of seating inside which is a plus. What I got: -Potato danish- savory; slight salty, crispy flakey layers. -Sausage roll- slightly salty for my preference, but has a very crispy crust and a meaty sausage in the middle. We went back a second time on our trip and got a few more pastries, all of which were very delicious. The pastries were hot, flakey, glistening, delicate, and perfectly sweet on both visits. I would definitely come back if I were to visit Dublin again.

I didn't wait more than 5/10 minutes. I grabbed a couple of different things for us to try -- the focaccia, morning bun, salted caramel roll, and the cinnamon roll. My favorite was easily the focaccia, which could compete with the best I had in Italy -- so good. The morning bun was good, but nothing crazy exciting. The salted caramel roll had to be the least caramel-y caramel roll I've ever had, but it didn't taste bad and the salted part was interesting (in a good way!). The Cinnamon roll was unique, which I appreciate. It had a big glob of cream cheese frosting (too much for me, but I imagine it would float a lot of folks' boats) and some orange flavoring! I quite liked the orange. I wanted to get a matcha to go, but they said they didn't have disposable cups. You could buy a 5 euro reusable one and then if you brought it back you'd get a refund... interesting, but I was leaving that day and wouldn't be back in the area. I can't speak to the ambiance because we were in and out, but it looked like they had a decent amount of space. All in all, I would recommend this place! For me it was a 4, but I'm sure for some it would bop up to a 5.

Outside was as mess, there were no chairs at some tables and other had to many with dirty dishes on them. So we decided to go in. There was no hostess nor any wait staff so we stood there like stooges. Finally ,two of the wait staff walked right by and just ignored us so we decided to take a seat. Now they want to come talk to us! I asked if this seat was ok and got the reply "I guess it will have to be as you already sat down". Should have got up then but the wife was tired so decided to stay. It was crazy warm in there with little air flow. I liked the atmosphere and ambience. Guess they wanted to make a point as we sat there for 15 mins without water or anybody coming by. Had to flag down what appeared to be a bus boy to get water. Finally had order taken by male bus boy who seemed he wanted to be anywhere else and said "I am waiting". We ordered two "specials" and the bœuf bourguignon. Two separate couples came in and were served before we received our food. So hard to eat as it was 80-85 degrees in there. The beef was good and would recommend. The two specials were chicken and very very dry. To wrap it up we had to hunt down the wait staff to get the ticket as they actively avoided eye contact. Fairly expensive for just ok food and horrible service. Customer service is not hard. A "Welcome" or "Glad you came in" goes a long way.
