Mel's Grill hides in plain sight on Sashabaw Rd. It's name could suggest Coneys or cocktails. Well stopping in after passing it for ages I can tell you it's Coneys and that's fine. The place was hopping on a late Saturday morning with nearly every table full. But the tables seemed to turn quickly so i was seated immediately. The menu had all of the casual dining staples with a twist. I opted for a southern eggs Benedict. What's that you ask? Well it's 2 biscuits with a sausage patty and poached egg on each smothered in biscuit gravy! Plus a side of crispy hash browns! I ate like I was going to the chair! A fantastic twist on a morning staple. I was solo so other dishes will have to wait for another visit, and there will be another. Hit Mel's for classic fare that can't be beat! Mel's Grill....Go!!

This was truly the brunch moment we needed when my friend and I were in the area for the Antique Festival! We walked in and we're able to quickly sit in the patio. I had the western omelet as a skillet and was wowed by the huge portion! Everything tasted so fresh and the eggs were perfectly fluffy! Service was great! We came in pretty late for "brunch" but everyone was super friendly and helpful! The vibe on the patio was pure perfection to enjoy a nice spring/summer day! Definitely a great place to stop by if you're in the area!

My wife and I ate here after having a splendid breakfast many months ago we thought we would return for dinner. They sat us by the bar there was no one else in the restaurant not sure why we had to sit next to the bar. We had other customers standing at the bar with her faces with their butts in our faces There were so many other better seats I should've said something but I didn't. We ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms, which on the picture it showed seven when it showed up there were only five mushrooms. What was missing the most was crab meat it was a literally a bunch a shake on top of barely stuffed mushroom. Mostly fancy sauce and a ton of bread crumbs to hide the lack of crab....for $17! My wife ordered a sandwich which she enjoyed I think it was a Reuben made out of turkey and I ordered a signature Smash burger. We both ordered french fries that looked like they had been sitting in the basket most of the day because they were cold, and we're starting to shrink from sitting out. By the time we were done, my bill was $90 after tipping the waitress paying their 3% rip off fee. We both were expressing discontent as we left through the parking lot. It has been a while since I had breakfast there, which I never read them for and would've given them a five for that but this menu was not that menu.
