As I'm new to the San Antonio area, I scrambled to find a nail salon near me with reasonable prices. I came across an Instagram ad/ offer for Trio Nail Lounge (25% off your bill) and figured I'd give it a go! I called and was told they're very busy and that I could go online to make an appointment. I quickly logged on an made a 3:30PM Appt. I was a bit irritated they wouldn't just make the reservation over the phone, but things could be worse. When I arrived at my appointment time.. they weren't ready for me and had no clue what I wanted/ that I would be coming in. As such... they didn't get me in until close to 4. I learned while getting my nails done that they were short on techs that day and just really pressed for time. Unfortunately, that did mean my manicure was very rushed as well. Now for the positives- my nails looked GREAT when they were finished, they had a fantastic selection of colors, this place was clean, and with the offer- you couldn't beat the prices. I originally thought I would go back and give them another chance because it's a good location and I had rocking nails when done, but on my second time going... even getting an appointment was too difficult with them. They never confirmed my online booking appointment and then when I called, they made it difficult as well. One thing to note at this salon is they ONLY do GEL Polish on pedicures... no regular Polish. So be prepared for that! My nails are overly short in the photo because they kept breaking from a previous manicure- not because of this place!

During my first visit, I tried the Sakura Cherry Blossom Pedicure -- it was a fancy experience with the warm neck pillow, steam machine and the wax. She was so lovely and kind and very helpful. I highly recommend her! I appreciate that they did correct the problem. I was asked to promise to remove the negative review by the manager. I declined and said if the work is better I'd revise it, and I did. I've met the owner at their other shop which is my regular salon and she's absolutely fantastic, perhaps I went on an off day. This salon was recommended to my daughter and myself by our regular salon which is temporarily closed for renovations. The salon itself is really lovely and elegant. The staff was also very nice. We both got pedicures, mine wasn't very good, the massage part is my favorite and it's why I chose the $48 coconut pedicure. There was no massage, just lightly gliding her hands on my feet. It was disappointing. We were both charged $10 extra to remove existing gel polish, even though we both were already paying for pedicures. Then, my nails. They wanted to charge me $5 more to shorten them. I said no thank you. They also charged my daughter an extra $10 to take off her gel polish on her hands even though she was getting gel. So already that's $30 extra for basic services that we don't get charged for at other salons. Now on to my nails which if I could give no stars I would. My natural nails are long and I love them. The very next day after getting them done 2 have broken off. I was doing my dishes and wiping my counters so nothing out of the ordinary. Not even 24 hours later! I'm so upset and angry about how much we were charged and now I have to go and get them redone. This salon was about 30 minutes away and had it not been a recommendation we would never had tried it out. I do not recommend this salon. They over charge, charge extra for things that should be included in the service, and the work was awful. It makes no sense, $5 to trim your nail while you're already getting them done? $10 extra to remove polish even though you're getting them done? And I think he said they charge $20 extra for gel or shellac on your toes. To clarify, yes we were informed about the additional charges but as we had already started our pedicures we just said okay but that still doesn't make it right. I saw the owners comment, I've had long nails for over 10 years now and this has never happened before. So it's not the length, it's the poor quality of the work done.
