As I began to plan my Hot Girl Summer I realized something was missing or rather something needed to go missing-- I needed a wax! I came across Sugar & Lash thanks to Yelp and was ready to try out the Brazilian sugar wax. BLUF: I had a good experience for my sugar Brazilian wax. Would recommend! I'm pretty open minded and always ready for an experience so I had no prob having a total stranger see my lady pocketbook. That's the first thing I'd say to people you have to be comfortable with someone being all in your business. I've never had a Brazilian wax or a sugar wax so I read into it. Brazilian wax removes the hair in the front and the back. I must've missed reading the part about the BACK because I was a little shocked when she said it lol. Sugar wax is less harsh than regular wax bc the hair is pulled in the same direction. I met and talked with Mandy then I was taken to a private room. I took off my bottoms only and received a towel wrap that had snaps to fit on my waist. I laid on the table and let the lady know I was ready through the closed door. She came in and got to work. I would say it's uncomfortable but not unbearable. Mandy is considerate and would offer breaks but I just went the whole time nonstop. It's good to have at least a weeks worth of hair but not too much hair or else that's more pulling. Mandy went to work on the front and the BACK. The front was more effort than the back. The back goes really quick and is much easier to handle. A little weird feeling but manageable. I was there for about 30 minutes and it really all goes quickly. Mandy will talk to you throughout to make it less awkward and as pleasurable as possible. Overall it was not scary or way painful. I will be back for another. I know over time the hair will get thinner and waxing will be easier. read more

This is the 1st time I get eyelash extensions. Always wanted them, just never knew who to go with as it is in a highly sensitive area, or at least I consider my eyesight highly sensitive ‍. I, being the procrastinator that I am, I called Mandy at Sugar & Lash trying to get something the same day, and oh, it was only New Years Eve. Well, she made it happen! I had my appointment with Maddie, she's so awesome, had a great experience! A couple days passed and I noticed I was losing not 1, not 2 but 6 eyelash extensions had fallen. I was being extremely gentle with them (no water, no rubbing, no mascara). I'm aware of natural eyelashes shedding, but either way I brought up my concern to Mandy. She didn't hesitate to address my concerns and scheduled me the next day to add in a couple of the extensions. She was so nice and pleasant to speak with. It was my first time coming to Sugar & Lash and I came in for a full set of eye lash extensions. Gabby took care of me and did an amazing job! She took her time, was super patient ( especially since my eyes are twitchy.), was very friendly, and wanted to make sure I was happy with my set. I highly recommend this place. I am all for quality over quantity and this place is awesome. The little studio is charming, clean, and it feels really peaceful in there. These girls are absolutely amazing! I was so nervous initially about getting lash extensions but Mandy and Gabby put my mind at ease by thoroughly explaining the process and what to expect after. They were always available to the questions I had. I was someone who had to apply tons of mascara to create thick, dramatic lashes but after the lash extensions I didn't ever need to apply mascara which was amazing. If it was possible to give more than a 5-Star I would. I have nothing but FABULOUS things to say about Sugar and Lash! I recently moved to San Antonio, and when I first came, I went to Amazing Lash Studio. They traumatized me, did terrible work, and basically ruined my lashes. So while my lashes were recovering, I spent about 6 months looking for new place to get my lashes redone. I found a bunch of places that were overcharging for their work or they require you to be attached to them via a membership. Sugar and lash popped up on my Facebook and the first picture I saw was a beautiful set of volume lashes done on a woman. I clicked on the page and continued scrolling through the pictures. I continued reading the comments, and the reviews were raving. The work Mandy and her employees do are beyond exceptional that I wanted to try it for myself and let me tell you, I was not one bit disappointed whatsoever. I booked an appointment with Mandy. Literally, hopped off a red eye flight and went to see Mandy. She made my first experience unforgettable. We talked the whole time, laughed, and continually made sure I was comfortable. When I sat up to look at my lashes, I was stunned. They looked even better than all the other times I have gotten them. Mandy takes extra care in the work she does pouring her heart out into every Lash. She does extensive training with her employees to ensure that their work is the best quality. I have gotten so many compliments about my lashes and I can't help but stare at myself in the mirror because these lashes are life changing. I told Mandy lashes are life, and they truly are. They make your morning or getting ready routine 10x easier.
