In an age of Shrinkflation, where portion sizes keep shrinking, Mellow Mushroom's Pizza, Service and Friendliness has stayed consistently higher than average over the years. As for the size of their Pizza, it's just the analyst in me but for literally years, I've noted on an index card the weight of the same order of a Mellow Mushroom pizza (Large with double Italian Sausage - yeah, I've got a type) As you can see in the samples listed below, from the Sandy Springs location when I lived in Atlanta, to the Midtown location when I moved, to the Stockbridge location when they opened, the weight (and Taste) of their pizza has remained consistent. Mellow Mushroom is not cheap and I was so disappointed with my food. I ordered online and went inside to pick up the food. They were extremely busy with the dine-in guests and lots of carry out orders. Although they were busy, the staff was kind and efficient. The bbq chicken pizza was one of the best pizzas I've ever had!! The ingredients tasted fresh and the crust was unbelievable! It even tasted great when reheating it in the microwave(although it's better when you follow the directions on the box for oven heating). My wife also liked her pizza with the gluten free crust. The Thai wings were pretty good, but I was not a fan of the Caribbean wings. The only real issue with mellow mushroom is the prices. I love this Mellow Mushroom location! The service staff is soooo nice. I have pups and they have a huge patio which is perfect for me and my pups. They have all size tables So you can go alone or with a large group. The pizza, salads and subs are amazing as all mellow mushrooms. The service is fast and the kitchen is quick too. After 20 minutes of me being 3 rd in line and the first and second groups had been seated, I asked if I was next and why the app didn't update. The hostess told me the App wasn't working and sat me immediately! So, had I not inquired about my seating, I would still be waiting. And the seats that we were escorted to were the same open seats that were available when we initially arrived. After that service and the food was great. However the chicken felt rubbery and dry. The pizza didn't taste like buffalo but the cheese was very cheesy. The best was the Great White and the worst was a build your own situation that hubby came up with in an attempt to avoid consuming cheese. While there, I checked in on yelp and was surprised to see that we'd get a free appetizer for the check in. Our server was unfamiliar and called in reinforcements. We eventually ended up with the manager coming over to tell us that they have no knowledge of, and do not honor, yelp coupons. It was a disappointing end to a short-lived high. It also was delivered in a manner that made it seem like we were trying to pull a fast one, when all I did was check in and show my server the notification that popped up. There hasn't been a pizza ordered I didn't like. I ordered the House Special and add more toppings for delight. The pineapple drink is a refreshing drink but ask for little ice. They are flats and drums and considered an appetizer so if you're hungry get the full order, for sure!
