Came to celebrate a couple massage for a bday. Great experience for Taylor & Gigi. Super chill and relaxing for both of us. Highly recommend. Thank you team. read more

This is a bit of an odd massage place since it's setup in a way where different therapists sort of rent a room out of here. Given that, experiences are going to vary wildly. The entrance is plain, certainly not a spa or anything. Treatment room itself was nice. Table, hot towels, everything was well done and clean. One complaint my room was right by the entrance so I could hear people coming and going and conversations in the lobby which wasn't ideal. It seems the walls are paper thin. The type of treatment you book I feel is going to vary wildly based on the person you end up booking, but I did not enjoy my massage. I was uncomfortably hot given all the hot towels and heated table and was told I needed to be hotter to work the muscles properly. She tried to upsell me on adding hot stones and cupping and said this would make the treatment more effective. Even though I declined she continued to pressure me to do it pointing out how she wasn't able to do as much without it. While I understand these might be effective massage techniques, I feel you should be able to administer a massage as offered and paid for without upselling additional treatments. I had no desire for the hot stones or cupping whether it would have been more effective or not. My goal was to have a relaxing and restorative massage, and I feel like what I got was a massage for a professional athlete. Even when I said this, the response was basically well you really need it to be this deep and I can't even go deep enough without the extra stuff, I was in enough pain as it was, I didn't want her to go deeper. She didn't seem to care about my request or comfort, but only what she deemed the most effective. What I booked was a restorative massage which seemed to be somewhere between swedish and deep tissue. What I got was the deepest deep tissue you could possibly imagine. While I feel like the masseuse knew what she was doing, she did not listen and I didn't appreciate the persistence in upselling, I couldn't relax while she went on and on about it for 15 minutes trying to convince me. Facilities are decent. Choose your masseuse at your own risk. read more

Have had two massages now one at hillcrest and one in downtown. Both times it was the masseuse's first day which I thought was weird. Most recent massage was with Gigi and it was great she focused on all of the problem areas and helped with my lower back soreness. Parking at downtown can def be a pain luckily I went on a sunday and it was free parking on the main street. Def worth trying out MM! read more

Antoine was a wonderful provider, attentive, kind and made me very comfortable with my first service at Mellow Massage. He was strong but also very thorough in working through all of my pain and stiffness in my back. This business was so easy to book, provided lots of options, was clean and accommodating. Next time I am in SD I will be back! read more

Mellow Massage - Massage room - Massage Near Me - San Diego, California

I got the membership option which is $118 for an 80 minute massage per month. This is $30 less than if you were just to book one. They don't allow credits to be rolled over though which is the one thing about their membership that I wish they would change. I like that the tables are heated. My masseuse did a great job. The facility is clean They don't have a receptionist . You just take a seat and text them to let them know that you arrived . Parking in this area can be a little hard but it is walking distance for me so I didn't have that issue read more

I had another amazing massage from Antoine. He really knows how to do a deep tissue massage.

Honor was the best masseuse that I have ever had. She literally got rid of my congestion with the massage. My back is always in pain but after I felt liberated. Definitely ask for her. read more

Mellow Massage is my go-to whenever my sciatic pain starts acting up. They always know exactly where to focus, and I leave feeling so much better every single time. I seriously walk out feeling like I'm floating on a cloud. If you're dealing with muscle tension or just need to relax, I highly recommend them. read more

I just had an awesome massage at Mellow in downtown San Diego. Erin was my massage therapist and she did everything I asked. Right off the bat she asked me if there were any particular areas I wanted her to focus on and any likes or dislikes. Great communicator and listener! Thoroughly enjoyed it! I will definitely be back and ask for Erin! read more

I've been twice now to this location and I'm so happy I found them! Both times I did an 80 minute deep tissue with cupping. I'm coming in hunched over and tight. I'm leaving floating and feeling amazing! Both Omar and Joshua are highly recommended by me! Make sure to pre book your next massage before you leave! read more

I loved it! It was awesome and relaxing! My husband and i will definitely be back. They were so attentive with my bad back.

Watch out for predatory membership charges! I got one massage from this company while I was in the military, stationed in San Diego, and found out recently they had been charging me for a membership for a year without my realizing it. Be very careful what you sign, and check your card statements closely after visiting this company. read more

I came across Mellow Massage while visiting San Diego. Booking online was easy. I was able to schedule a deep tissue massage for the same day. I went into the Downtown location and enjoyed their modern, minimalist design with polished concrete floors. It reminded me of an art gallery. My massage room was similarly designed, but warm and comfortable. Everything was immaculately clean. My masseur, Omar, greeted me warmly, asked what areas of concern I had, and then proceeded to provide me with one of the best massages I've ever had. Great pressure during the massage. Omar was very detailed working on my body. He knows his anatomy and I was aware of him addressing my problem areas as well as all the major muscle groups, even targeting the deeper layers in turn. His choice use of trigger point therapy provided immediate release of tension from key muscles that we use all the time, like the forearm muscles and my biceps. After the massage, I had a deep sense of calm but also energized. If I lived in San Diego, I would sign up for their membership. I will definitely book another session with them the next time I am in town! Note: Parking was tricky for me, especially with one-way streets (possibly because I don't know the area). After circling a few times, I eventually found a paid street space only 1 block away. read more

Great massage today! Very relaxing, clean, professional easy to book same day massage for me and my daughter. I highly recommend Mellow Massage. read more

Booked an appt for 9:00 this morning. It's closed. I called and in a VERY hard to understand accent person answered. After a very frustrating conversation he keeps asking me if I put my credit card into in to book. No. And it didn't ask for it. At that screen it clearly states appt confirmed no payment due at this time. So I'm standing at a locked door. Their business hours are also BS. They are a joke of a "business" don't waste your time. read more

Had such a relaxing experience here! The staff were incredibly kind and made me feel comfortable right away. I really appreciated how customizable the massage was, they took the time to focus exactly on the areas I needed. Definitely a great spot if you're looking to unwind and feel taken care of :) read more

To Whom it my concern and/or Eric Bender, Owner of Chiropractique, Co-founder of Mellow Massage I am reaching out to bring your attention to an issue with Mellow Massage that I have been unable to resolve. On July 13, 2024, I corresponded with Kelly via email (info@mellow-massage.com), and on behalf of Mellow Massage, she confirmed that my membership had been canceled and that a refund had been processed. She also mentioned that the receipts for the refund had been sent to me. While I did receive refunds for the charges on June 4, 2024, and July 24, 2024, I have recently discovered that I continued to be charged $109 each month from August 2024 through January 2025, totaling $654, despite the previous confirmation that my membership was canceled. As these charges were made in error, I want the total amount of $654 to be credited back to my American Express card. I have made several recent attempts to contact Mellow Massage both by phone and email to resolve this matter directly, but unfortunately, I have received no responses. The individual I spoke with on the phone, who had an accent, was unable to assist me further. I would appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to your resolution. Today I booked a birthday massage and stretch session at Mellow Massage and had a mixed but mostly positive experience. The areas that were worked on felt really good and he did a great job releasing tension where he focused. However, I was expecting a full-body massage and felt a bit incomplete since several areas were skipped. Overall, it was relaxing and helpful, but I would have preferred a more thorough, full-body session to make it perfect. read more

I didn't want to complain but after thinking about it I decided to let everyone know This massage business is terrible the entire massage was not peaceful The front area where people come in and out echos and your other workers( I assume they all work there ) and their guests are very loud So I was constantly hearing peoples loud voices speaking at full capacity I'm pregnant so I was really excited to just enjoy a peaceful relaxing massage and it really wasn't Also at the end some man walked into the massage and interrupted and the masseuse had to tell them she's using the room I was really upset about the environment and the other workers or other people coming in for their masssagws having no courtesy to keep their voices down The room I was in was right next to the front so maybe it was worse bcuz of that but I do feel like the front needs to do a better job at whispering and keeping low voices and pushing clients to do the same Also maybe some spa music in the front would help It felt like a regular office in there vs a relaxing spa area read more

Loved it , fell asleep and got the knot out of my mid back that's been killing me. Was able to make a same day appointment about 2 hours out. Music wasn't too loud , will definitely be going back. read more

So amazing! Ryan is GREAT! I did the hot stone massage and wow wonderful! Highly recommended. The first time I've ever relaxed enough to fall asleep during a massage and not because it wasn't good either! But wow I was so relaxed after I could barely walk back to my hotel. lol Enjoy you'll thank yourself later! read more

This place is not professional and poorly managed! I booked a 12:30pm appointment at 11:52am because I thought I would treat myself to a last second massage. I get to the downtown SD location at 12:20pm and the doors are locked. I called customer service 3 times over the course of 40 mins. They inform me that they have notified the front desk (I can see through the window .... No one is at the front desk). Finally at 1:04pm they informed me that they can reschedule me at 6:30pm ( I am still locked out). I declined the reschedule because I have plans at 6:30pm and asked for a full refund. I finally get the cancellation receipt. STAY AWAY! read more

Highly recommend going to Milly! I didn't have huge expectations but only because it was a place I had never been to before. I just wanted a quick massage to use my leftover ClassPass credits not thinking much of it. BUT it was hands down the best massage I've ever had. I felt so at ease with her because she was so nice and accommodating to what | wanted/needed. I will definitely be back and told all my friends to come to her! Thanks Milly! read more

Mellow Massage - Front waiting area - Massage Near Me - San Diego, California

I've been having professional massages for nearly 30 years and I've had some pretty great masseurs. Today's massage with Joshua was amongst the very best I've had. I carry alot of stress from working long hours on a PC and from working out 3-4 hours a week. I booked the 80 minutes massage after my boyfriend recommended Joshua after he had 2 amazing massages with him. I was really impressed as he found my severe spots in my shoulders and back in minutes and then found additional tough spots in my neck. He worked the areas really well, digging in and really releasing the knots. I am so blown away at how good I feel. The additional movement I have now in my neck and back, not to mention that I'm no longer in constant pain in my shoulders. I've been almost giddy at how good I feel. Book him now folks cause word is gonna travel fast. read more

Mellow Massage - This is me, happy as I am today after the massage. - Massage Near Me - San Diego, California

I received an email back four days later. I have been told that I self-enrolled that the membership was purchased by me, and that the terms included the monthly charge agreed at the time of sign-up, so they cannot refund me. I have no recollection of any of these. I don't even like getting a massage but I buy them as a birthday present for my bf. I never receive a text or email from them that I'm being charged. The only reason I found out about it is when I'm trying to figure out why my credit card is not going down especially when I'm paying more each month. This is ridiculous. And the only way you can contact them is through email. Not cool. read more

I've had hundreds of massages and the one I had today from Marteen (forgive the spelling) was for sure in the top 3 BEST I've had! I'm a medical professional and carry a lot of my stress in my shoulders, neck and back. I could tell she knows her anatomy and worked spots that I didn't even know I needed! I'll definitely be returning to see her! HIGHLY recommend!!! read more

The 5 stars are real - this place is the real deal. From front desk to the massage therapist. Everyone is super kind and wants the best for you. I had extreme shoulder pain and went about 4 or 5 different massage therapist in San Diego and my first visit here did more than the past 5 elsewhere. My next visit was at a different location due to a scheduling conflict and they are always super helpful to make those changes and when something goes wrong - own it and fix it. I've had the membership for 4 months now and don't plan on canceling anytime soon. read more

I am not exaggerating when I say Josh gives the best massages I've ever had in my life. I have the membership so every month I get an 80 min massage. I happened upon Josh by happenstance when the therapist I'd seen in PB left and I wanted to try the downtown location - I am SO glad I did. I have a lot of neck pain, and constantly stressed shoulders and Josh seriously melts the pain away. He really gets in there and makes you breathe and just ahhhh. The best. read more

I have been going to mellow massage for about three months now and couldn't be happier. I was on the verge of tears with shoulder pain from carrying around my two year old (and also scar tissue from an old spinal fusion surgery). My appointment with Jason was relaxing, but Jason has deep knowledge of muscles and ligaments that made it feel like a physical therapy appointment. He was able to diagnose exactly where my pain came from and try techniques to address that pain directly. I've never had a masseuse explain what he was doing before. I felt like a new person after the first visit and have been going ever since. The space feels expensive l, but the prices are reasonable. And again, Jason is amazing. So happy to be a customer. read more
