Jacob at the front desk was very kind and welcoming. I came in because my muscles were extremely tight and my whole body felt stiff after recovering from a recent heart procedure, so I wanted to loosen up my muscles and relax. Amanda was very gentle, attentive, and caring during the massage, and I left feeling much more relaxed and refreshed. I would definitely come back again. read more

Honestly, came all the way from Sacramento decided I wanted a massage. Went to this place. The guy in the front was very kind, but 11, I entered the room. The lady that was giving me a massage seem to being a rush. For some reason. I wish she was giving me a massage made. It seem like she wasn't a rush, and even after the massage, she was nice up until she demanded a tip and when I gave her five dollars because I really paid 70. She still wanted more and I gave her 10, but that's when I already told her. No, I paid 70 already up the front. She didn't seem too happy and pretty much kicked me out the room. My cousin felt the same way about this place. Like I said the person. The man was very nice, but not coming back. read more

Sakura Massage - Sad Face - Massage Near Me - San Diego, California

Love this place!! Me and my boyfriend are addicted! We've been going once or twice a week for the last few months and always leave feeling like we are on Ecstasy. We do a couples massage so they put us in a larger room together. Very peaceful music and lighting eases us in. Usually we have Annie and Vena but occasionally someone is off and there is a substitute but still always amazing. I opt to get walked on which is so satisfying to my often sore back. The massages are a perfect blend of kneeding out the knots and gentle stroking. Every part of my body gets the attention it craves. I can't wait to get my next one tonight! read more

This is a hidden gem The moment I stepped in, I felt calm and welcomed. The atmosphere is serene, the rooms are spotless, and everything smells wonderful. My massage was perfectly balanced--both relaxing and rejuvenating. The therapist was attentive, professional, and really understood how to melt away stress. I left feeling lighter, refreshed, and completely renewed. A true 7-star experience highly recommend Sakura Massage to anyone who wants to treat themselves! read more

I came with my mom. We both got the $60/hour massage. I personally thought it was okay. Some parts I didn't like especially the fixation on massaging the back of my neck really hard (as if im being choked) and the massage was very repetitive and not relaxing at all. It feels like I'm being massaged by somebody who doesn't have experience. I got the shiatsu massage but got a shit massage instead. But the worst part of it all is right after tipping. My mom and I decided to give $10 each (which is more than 15% of the service). She only had whole $20 so when she hand it over she said "10 each" the lady that massaged me gave me a look like "where's mine?". So my mom repeated again, "10 each". And omg, the look on my masseuse! She's so disappointed and did not care that she's showing it. No thank you, no nothing. We tipped 15% each per service even though it was not even pleasurable. Front desk was good. The place's vibe looks clean and nice. But yes, won't come back again! read more

I opted to try Sakura Massage out of convenience and while the service itself was satisfactory I left the establishment knowing I'd never return. Before leaving the receptionist stopped me to inform me it is "customary" to leave a $20 tip and asked me to leave more $. I had already left an 18% tip so I was shocked that she was bold enough to ask for what would be a 33% tip. Regardless of what I had left it is unprofessional and far from customary to ask patrons to leave an additional tip after one has been made. For future patrons: Please know if the tip you leave is not to their standards they WILL be asking you to leave more. This is far from a luxurious or extraordinary massage that warrants a 30%+ tip. Will absolutely not be returning. read more

Nicole gave me an amazing massage and she was so polite. I felt so relaxed. I didn't want the massage to ever end. The back portion was particularly good and I felt like she was relieving a lot of stress and knots. read more

**APPLE MAPS SAYS LOTUS SPA** *Located in convoy, the same parking as Koon Thai *Reservation preferred By far the most comfortable and relaxing massage experience I've had in San Diego ! $60 for an hour AND a private room is hard to find On average, I see $80/hr & most of the time a private room is usually extra. Right from the start, my masseuse (Cici - unsure of spelling) asked me about the pressure and also asked a couple other times throughout to make sure I was okay. She was also very respectful of asking before touching my clothing. I always wear a bikini when I get a massage to make it easier to tie/untie. I also just got an ear piercing and a tattoo done - she was very considerate when I told her and ask her to be careful around those areas. Going to make this my go-to spot ! Can't wait to be back. read more

I like that I can use my CC for service and tip. Massage is pretty standard. Customer service is good.

Came in and was surprised to see that Vivian is back. She looks a little different than she used to, but the massage is mostly the same as ever. She acted rather entitled and tip hungry, but I guess that goes with the territory. She likes to do a light massage without oil, which is ok. But for the right tip, she provides a very sensual massage with a happy ending, providing a fun build-up and release. read more

The massage was okay for the price but l won't be coming here because l didn't like the front lady's attitude. When we were done with our massage the lady at the front ask me for the TIPS... which we don't HAVE to but we did.. That's just very unprofessional read more

Walked in without a problem. Had a 90 min massage. Fantastic professional massage, reasonable price, friendly and professional staff. I will definitely go back. read more

Consistently good and fairly priced. I would highly recommend. 90-min is best value. I still go to this place regularly.

Best massage of my life. High quality table, for once I didn't feel like my face was going numb. Very fulfilling 60min.

Swedish message, for 60 min wow what a delight Julie really knows what she's doing I came in on a Groupon and they treated me as a princess.

For the price I paid, massage was not that good. I'm used to deep tissue and I requested 30min foot and 30 min back massage for extra 20$ and 10$ extra for salt scrub. Not worth it. The masseuse was probably too weak for my body since I'm not a skinny girl. But, I didn't complain, I even gave a fair amount of tip because she tried. But definitely not going back. This is probably the first bad review I've ever left on Yelp. I'm usually a 5 star rating reviewer. read more

WARNING. DO NOT COME HERE. My partner googled "best massage place" in San Diego and I have no idea how this place is still running. First off you pay BEFORE you receive your massage? Which is super strange I've never gone to a place where you pay for the service before but I figured out why towards the end. The man at front desk didn't even ask us what we want targeted or if we're having any pains ect which I thought was weird. When we walked into the room it looked as if it was a janitors closet at one point and was just spruced up with sheer curtains and cheap led lights. That was my second red flag. When we got undressed and laid on the massage table I immediately made a comment on how unsanitary and uncomfortable the table was. They even have you place your head on a paper towel before putting your head through the head pillow? The woman next to us asked my partner how he would like his massage but I don't know why mine didn't. We came to the massage for me because I was so tight on my shoulders. My masseuse was petting me like a dog except extremely inappropriately. I don't know why I stayed the whole massage I must've been just so exhausted but I wish I told her to get her hands off me I feel so violated. I swear I feel as if I was counting down the minutes I think they even ended it early but I was so happy it was over. When they left I looked over to my partner and we gave each other the weirdest looks. If you want to go to a professional massage place that won't try and offer you any happy endings go to happy head. I'm never letting my partner choose a spot again. Not only was I rushing to get out the building but when it was over I nearly ran to the car just to find out the woman had the audacity to demand more money for the sad excuse of a massage they performed!!! Never do I go to a place without reading the reviews first except this time I allowed my partner to "surprise" me and that will never happen again lol. I left so angry and upset my partner and I fought the entire way I can't believe I was brought here to waste an hour of my life to feel as if I have been s3xually harassed. If anyone wants to sue this spot or get this place shut down please message me. I can't believe this spot is still operating it's disgusting. Don't waste your time or money here. You're welcome for the warning. read more

I have been getting services all over the US massages, mani/pedi, threading, ETC.. this place was by far the most accurate with its services. The room and set up was super clean you could see them wiping and vacuuming mopping everything was sanitary the sheets were brand new. The ladies we had for our deep tissue 90min couples massage were AMAZING! Cici and Annie did the best deep tissues massage we've ever felt in our life! That says a lot we're picky! Thank you ladies and we will definitely be back! See you soon! read more

Been coming here for years - Massage Envy quality at a great price. Staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, and the masseuses are all skilled and professional. I always call in and make a reservation. Have tried the salt scrub, the hot stones, and cupping - it's all pretty interesting but I just prefer the regular massage. These men and women work very hard- make sure you tip accordingly. Thanks Sakura Massage! read more

DO NOT COME if you are looking for professional massage. I have been to Sakura last Sunday because my boy friend searched and it was the only place available. The place is unprofessional because the massage lady tried my flip flop when I laid on the bed, wearing off-shoulder dress while working, and came over to watch us paying. I was not given proper covering when I prepare to get the massage. read more

Excellent value! I mean, could you get anyone you know to do this for $20: 1. give you a scalp and shoulder massage while your feet soak in hot water 2. give every inch of your feet TLC for 30 minutes 3. give your back a thorough massage with just the right amount of pressure 4. hand you a cup of cold water afterwards I didn't think so. I'm giving you a life-altering tip. Make an appointment at Lotus, wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to be pampered. Close your eyes and imagine whoever is the hottie you're lusting after at the moment (or your significant other) taking care of your body like your masseuse is, and enjoy. Don't forget to tip generously ($10 is average)! These masseuses work hard. PS ask for Ray if you can. He has magic hands. read more

Clean and cute but nobody knows what they are doing. Not professional at all and literally the second-worst massage ever.

The massage was good, the massager was good but the place of business set the clock from when I paid not the time I got to the room and it starting. read more

Tired Parents/Teacher here, My husband had the idea to go and get reflexology from Sakura. We didn't have an appointment. Right away, we were greeted warmly, and he explained the prices, various options etc. my husband had therapist Alice and I had therapist Asher. They were so friendly and welcoming. Their hands though, MAGIC, I was instantly put at ease, relaxed, he kept checking in on his pressure, and they took their time, and it was a wonderful session. The prices were fair and I absolutely can't wait to go back! I highly recommend this place, you will leave feeling brand new or at least a huge grin on your face! 10 out of 10 for sure! read more

Went in last night as a last minute choice. Ended up needing to choose the 1 hour $41 Swedish massage due to the receptionist saying there were no feet massage available... the whole experience was just okay. The gal asked what pressure I liked and I replied medium everywhere, but hard on the shoulders. The massage was just repeated forearm rubbing, sometimes feeling helpful - other times just so so. At the reception desk, I was told if I wanted any feet added to let him know & so I asked for 10 mins. When the gal started on me she told me the last 10 mins will be the feet. That was also only okay. Last note: I watched the clock & had gotten started at a certain time but I know I ended early because when I looked at the clock I technically should have had 10 more mins... so that's not really fair for what I paid. read more

I had a couples massage with my boyfriend and it was really nice. Typical Asian massage prices $80 for one hour couples massage full body. I also saw they do hot stone and salt scrubs. I would be interested in coming back for these additional services. The only thing that I didn't like is they pressure you to tip more. I'm not a stingy tipper but I'm not trying to break my wallet. I pulled out my tip after my massage and was asked to tip more. :( read more

Such an amazing massage. I would highly recommend them. I was able to book last minute. Hi highly recommend Mike.

I came here for a foot massage yesterday. There was only 1 person doing the foot massage so I had to wait for him. Young Chinese guy in his 20's. I can tell his hands must be tired after the previous lady. He didn't massage well & when I was addressing my problem area he didn't understand me. His English was bare minimum. He thought I was asking for a woman masseuse. Which I preferred in the first place. Plus she probably would do a better job. He went to the restroom prior to servicing me. I heard the toilet flush I think but I didn't hear him wash his hands. So gross out how some ppl can be so disgusting. The girl he call to replace him less than half way in was nice but English was limited also. I left still achey. After the massage the towels they use on me was just folded up to be reuse for the next client. That's not right. This place looks clean but its not. Massage was mediocre & they're not changing out their towels or bed/ chair sheets after each person. Dont go here if ur a sanitary person. You will be highly disappointed. read more

New to the area, I was in need of a massage after moving for the last two weeks. I chose Sakura because it opened early and I wanted to walk in. I went in exactly at 10 and the receptionist was already on the phone with others scheduling appointments, so I was a little nervous that I was not going to be seen however, he was able to fit me in with a Massage that I wanted. I will share that if you get a bit of a discount if you pay in cash, I was unaware since I just walked in for the first time without much research so I will say if you want a little bit off of your bill to bring cash ahead of time. I got the 60 minute full body with a 30 minute foot massage and it was amazing! You could either do your massage in a private room and your foot massage in the communal area or do it all in the same room for 10 more dollars. I'm all about convenience so I opted to stay in the same room for both my full body and foot massage and I am so glad that I did. I could not imagine being extremely relaxed from an hour of massaging to have to clothe, get off of the table and go to another area And sit upright for a foot massage. I did want the CBD added to my session however, they were all out which was a bummer but that did not really influence my massage. It would've been great with or without the oil. I will definitely be coming back for more. I wish I would have gotten my masseuse's name, but despite being small, she definitely packs a punch and her massages!! read more

I've been here a couple times now, so I feel like I can write a review. The first time I went was kinda meh, the girl put too much pressure and it was very uncomfortable, but I only paid for the 30 min one so it was over pretty quickly, I forgot to tip(literally had never gotten a massage before this, so I didn't know what was common practice or not) but nobody stopped me or gave me dirty looks for that as far as I know. The second time I came here was a few days ago and did the 60 minute this time, I got Wendy as my masseuse and she is very cute and did a very good job too. I started laughing near the end because I didn't know about turning over and I was really awkward during that entire part. I think the massage ended a little early, I think she mentioned herself that there was still about 5 or so minutes left on my time when she stopped, but I didn't mind, I was already feeling much better than I did before and I doubt those 5 minutes would've REALLY changed much. I tipped $20 and I didn't get pestered by anyone there to give them more or anything(though I tipped her in the massage room, not at the cashier or anything) and all in all it was a good experience. Though I really liked the recent trip, I'm still giving a 4 because I imagine the masseuses are very hit or miss and you might end up getting one that is not very good and will leave you uncomfortable like I got my first time going. read more

Price is reasonable. Good service , will definitely come back . Close to restaurants if you are hungry after the massage

Never again! It's customary to tip 15-20%, I tipped $10 (20% would've been $8), my "masseuse" Linda rolled her eyes and huffed--not even a thank you--as if $10 wasn't enough, making it very awkward. She was lucky to get $10 for a mediocre massage. Too many other better choices out there for a real massage. Save your time, money, and yourself from feeling awkward. read more

I guess I wasn't too surprised when a male masseuse walked in to give me a massage since the guy at the front was very quiet, short, and didn't give a lot of directions. I already knew the drill though, so I paid at the front for a $40 1-hour body massage and followed him past countless rooms in a circle basically to my single room. I haven't gone to get too many massages and this was the first time having a male, but it wasn't that uncomfortable, not really. His back and head massages were alright - not the best, more meh - and as he was massaging me with his forearm on my back it actually hurt more than soothed me. His arm, leg, and neck massages though were glorious! Wished he had spent more time on my neck however! Room was pleasant, comfortable, and dimly lit with soft and relaxing music playing in the background. I could hear a little banging and talking from outside, but it didn't distract me too much. Overall, OK spot but still turned off that they didn't ask if I was comfortable with a male masseuse. However, they weren't busy on a weekend when most places were so I can at least leave 3 stars because of that. read more

I just had the weirdest experience and massage ever!!! I'm been going there when they have been open and always saw Grace whom was beyond amazing. Today I called to make an appt and they said Grace was no longer there. I said that's ok just book me with someone as good as her. Boy that is not even close to what I got. I got the worst massage of my life. I went there with a very bad headache and told the gal named CC only rub my neck and shoulders as they were very tight and why I had a headache. I LITERALY had to tell her 4 times to stop what she was doing and rub my neck and shoulder. She was basically rubbing me like a dog!! I asked to be more firm and she told me I should go to a man as they are stronger. WTF is she doing massage for if she can't massage people, she was so lazy. Finally she got up on the bars and used her feet on my shoulders which was something, BUT NEVER RUBBED MY NECK. So here I am at home with a stiff neck and still have a headache. Here's the best part. I was up front waiting for change to give her a tip. While I was waiting for change I handed her a $10 and was going to give her $5 more. CC had the BALLS to look at me and scoff saying "what only $10"??? SO RUDE and inappropriate... I was so annoyed and pissed by then I took my $10 back, handed her a $20 and left to never return. Now I see way Grace left as these people working there have NO CLASS and garbage. Plus a waist of my hard earned $80. BEWARE!!! read more

Sakura has been a place where I take my elders for a massage. They all rave about how "strong and good" the masseuse are. Usually tipping $20 per masseuse. After a much needed deep tissue massage and fire cupping. My partner and self agreed - they give a firm massage, which is what we like. The fire cupping experience- I loved it. This was my first time as a customer. I never had any complaints about how much I tip when I brought my elders in for service. I've been going here when they were still known as Lotus Massage. Despite being followed from the massage room to the cash register. I was still in good spirits to tip. May I ask someone- what is an appropriate amount to tip, for a massage and fire cupping that totaled $160? I offered $25 each, to the fire cupping lady and to the man that gave me my massage a total Of $50 tip. I thought that was fair, since I never had backlash from my usual $20, tip. The man who massaged me, seemed more than thankful. It was the fire cupping lady who remarked : "I did fire cupping extra for both you". Isn't that what I paid the extra $40 for? I asked her what would be fair? As I did not want to seem inconsiderate. With passive aggression she replied: it's fine it's fine but I do extra. Was a very awkward moment for me. The relaxation and good vibes dwindled. Bad impression. Time to find a new massage spot. Anyone have any recommendations? read more

~ Clean ~ Nicely decorated ~ Good and friendly front desk service ~ Price, very reasonable Oh boy, has it really been that long since I have been to this place, may since I last updated my review. I know it has been awhile though. We haven't Sandra Helder I sent you a pm, thanking you, but thought I should also write here as it may go to your "others" folder. Love my beautiful gifts xo San Diego for leisure for some time lately. This time we were in the area for leisure, so off we went looking to get a massage at one of our regular spots. Of course to follow is some good food. So we know that the place now have a new manager since we were last here. She was very pleasant on the phone and informed us they were able to fit us in for a 90 min massage. The place is still nicely decorated and clean. Although the women's restroom could have been a touched up a bit, overflow trash can, not good to see. The gal I had, Amber was very good. I requested a medium to strong massage and that was met. I did forget to mention before the massage, that I wanted more massage time on my tired feet. So when it was time to turn over and I mentioned it and it was not a problem. Amber was able to work out some knots on my back and also bring life to my tired feet. I would definitely come back and request Amber. read more

Really doesn't get any better than this place --great quality massage for an almost unbeatable price! I called about 15 minutes before going in to see if they would take a walk-in and there was no problem at all. The location is right off Convoy and very easy to spot. Clean facility. The staff was super polite upon arrival. I had requested Andy based on a recommendation from a friend and I was not disappointed! Pressure was perfect and he checked in at appropriate times during my massage to make sure I was doing alright. $40 for an hour, full-body massage and only $62 for an hour and a half? Why go anywhere else? Give this place a try if you'd like a bang for your buck! read more
