The minute I pulled up to Melli Cafe, I knew I was in for a treat. The signage and outdoor vibe of the café are on point. Walking inside immediately confirmed I had made a good choice. The decor inside is thoughtful and really pretty. The staff were exceptionally kind and complimented my Office sweatshirt and struck up a nice little conversation while I chose my drink drinks and pastries. I saw an Instagram that they had a berry Matcha special, so I ordered that. They had a lot of other fun Matcha flavors, so it was honestly hard to decide. I really loved my drink, although it was much sweeter than I typically like a Matcha to be. The flavors were just so delicious. I ordered my husband a shot of espresso. He seemed to be pleased with it. We got a few honey, cinnamon cookies, and a vanilla cookies. I liked the honey cinnamon cookies much better than the vanilla cookie. They also sell mini Greek donuts, so I would like to return to try those sometime! And there is an adorable gelato counter with black ice cream cones. I can only imagine how beautiful it would look in a photo! I could see my family coming for gelato sometime in the summer when we visit Michigan next. Parking was super easy as there is a big lot for a few of the businesses in the plaza. read more

This cafe is a great little spot, beautiful decor and convenient location . I ordered a 16 oz Americano, my go to coffee drink, ordered many times all across the country. Melli' barista prepared my drink and my assessment was ....MEH. I expected a boisterous brew and received: MEH. The color wasn't even the robust dark look that I expect from an almost $6.00 Americano, it looked brown with too much water. I returned to the shop and explained that I wasn't pleased, they said that the espresso to water ratio was lower since I ordered a 16 oz size....WHAT? I ALWAYS order 16 oz and have never had a weak drink like this one. They offered to make another but I just told them not to bother; went to Starbucks and got a perfect drink with a lower price. read more

Melli's Cafe is such a bright little gem with a Greek twist! Super clean, modern space with pretty decor and a relaxed vibe. They use Illy coffee (always a good sign), and the iced drinks are smooth and not overly sweet. The pastry case is dangerous in the best way... croissants, cakes, cookies, and especially the loukoumades (Greek donut bites) with flavors like honey, pistachio, and Biscoff. They also have gelato, milkshakes, and some light savory options, so it's not just dessert central. Easy parking, right by a park, and there's even a cute resale shop next door which makes it feel like a whole little outing. Bonus points for the community phone charger. Melli Cafe is located in the brand new build in downtown Grand Blanc which has been hyped up for years. The cafe itself is nice, though a little small and doesn't feel like it accommodates for a lot of people wishing to be sat. The employees were very kind and engaging when I spoke with them, though I did make an online order prior to arriving both times. My first order was a strawberry banana matcha, which lacked in the banana flavor that I was really excited for. The presentation of the coffee is very aesthetically pleasing, and the color blocking is always a nice touch. I will say, these round bottom cups that are becoming popular at these boutique- style cafès such as Melli were deceptively small for the price paid. My second order at Melli was just the following day after my strawberry-banana matcha. I ordered the iced amaretto latte, being a massive amaretto fan, and ordered it with extra flavor just to be safe. There's no doubt in my mind the espresso in the latte is well-made and of a good quality, however I could not taste the amaretto flavoring whatsoever in my latte. It's not clear when mobile ordering how much extra syrup you get when adding extra for $0.85, but I could not finish my latte as it severely lacked in flavor. If I do come back, I'll try and see how many pumps are added and maybe even what brand is being used. Being a former barista, I can see if the syrup brand is complimenting the espresso brand or not and at least in this blind try, it did not. read more

Holy amazing Batman. Stopped here on a whim tonight, and SO glad I did! Had an iced biscoff latte.. superb. And then did a large order of the Dubai chocolate loukoumades... amazing. My latte was SOOOO watery and the cake I got tasted like it had been sitting in the refrigerator for about a week. Will not be returning.

Freshly made greek desserts!! Exactly what I expect when I go to the Detroit area, very excited to be here. They come with Detroit prices too. Well worth the treat. I had spinach pie and a piece of the custard pie (filo crust) yum! They have gelato!! Homemade Turkish delights, light lunch and coffee.
