Rebel Art School is a gem. We held our daughter's birthday party here and it was such a treat. The…read moreonline reservation was easy. I recommend booking in advance since spots fill up quickly. I spoke with Alex to ask questions and she gave me an idea of what to expect for the party. She even decorated the birthday table in the theme colors that we wanted. Alex and her assistant handled all aspects of the art project from the setup, to the demo and explanation, to preparing the artwork for take home. It was so nice to be able to relax and take photos and admire the art making process. The party was well planned and we had time to complete the artwork, eat lunch, and have dessert. Everyone had a blast.

They are kind, incredibly generous with their knowledge, and created such a welcoming environment for both my mom and me. There is a really nice variety of workshops too and I'm hoping they add even more for evenings. I recently took the holiday linocut workshop and had the best time! It wasn't just about learning a new craft; the vibe was so social and upbeat. The teacher was wonderful and the other students were a blast to hang out with while we worked. Their approach to teaching really builds your confidence. For the first time, I actually felt like an artist rather than just a hobbyist. The atmosphere here is creative, supportive, and fun. I'm constantly checking their calendar for new classes and workshops to be added. Check them out if you or your kids (or your mom!) want a community as well as an art school.

This was my first time at paint night…read more If I reconsider going back, I will be sure NOT to get an event with Bindu D! He is AWFUL! My daughter and I arrived at 6:55 for a 7pm event. I was SHOCKED to find 60 people there! I don't know where I got the idea that these were small events with 12-20 participants, but it is NOT. They heard you into a room PACKED full of people where half the participants can't see the stage! Bindu started by announcing that since the Warriors were playing, parking was bad, so he would be starting the event on Filipino time at around 7:15. He finally pulled himself away from the warriors game at 7:30 and had us paint our canvas black, then he took a break and told us to come back at 8:15. He did not start again until 8:30 because he was in the bar watching the game! By 9pm all we had was a black canvas and a waterfall and he starts RUSHING us saying that we need to finish by 9:15! He got drunk and was mean to people that asked about which brush he was using and he thought he was being funny - but he just came off as drunk and rude! He did NOT really give any "art class" at all. He just stood up there and said "What is happening?" and did stuff with his brush that we were supposed to follow. i HATE disorganization and this night was ruled by it. He started late, took a long break and then got irritable that we didn't hurry up and finish! I think this could be a really fun event if it had the right teacher who was interested in showing people how to paint as opposed to getting drunk and insulting people and then BRAGGING about how he's the BEST selling artist at Yaymaker. So what! That's not much of a recommendation on the whole company. So, I might be talked into trying it again as long as I am certain Bindu will NOT be involved. He was just AWFUL!

The paint night artist, Kevin Pride, made my experience at Paint Night a disaster. He was crude in…read morehis comedic act and told a disgustingly racist and sexist joke. When I privately and respectfully confronted him during the event, he became defensive. I made sure the appropriate people were informed of the incident, which led to Kevin obtaining my phone number and aggressively contacting me. Although, I blocked his number, further and appropriate action had to be taken to stop him from further contact. I'm truly traumatized by this experience. Yaymaker has been taking steps to address the issue. However, I don't think any paint night participant should have to experience what I did. There were other disturbing facts about that evening, but I wanted to share the most egregious incident and its aftermath. To me, what occurred is highly problematic and concerning!
