Had a lovely experience here and felt transported to a Spanish Villa. The location is beautiful and the long driveway allows for a large number of cars if you are wondering about parking. Our group had about 14 cars and they all fit inside. The instructor was very sweet and had a good pace. It was fun and felt therapeutic to paint in such a beautiful rustic place. The area is well kept and it is a perfect location for get together and company meetings.

We had an amazing time at Paint & Picnic. It was the perfect space for our leadership meeting. We loved the space, Sophia was easy to work with and we had a magical experience. We loved what we painted and the space we were in. Highly recommend looking at Paint & Picnic for your next event!

A little bit of her artwork as well as what painting we did that day!

Oh where do I begin! SOPHIA IS AMAZING!!! She is so funny, so kind & such a pure soul. Even without the fun time I had & the beautiful property we got to enjoy, I would go wherever Sophia is providing events! She is seriously such a delight. We had great conversations & she was cracking us up the whole time. We went yesterday & it was my first time ever doing anything like this, although I do love to paint (never with acrylic before, so I was a bit nervous lol) but Sophia broke it down in steps that are understandable for even someone who has never touched a paint brush. So with her making it so understandable, it made me way less nervous & so I was able to focus on having FUN! She never rushed us, which meant a lot to me as I can get anxious if I think people are waiting on me. The property was so peaceful & quiet, & so so beautiful! I wish I would have gotten a picture of what we walked up to, because I was so blown away. ITS SO GORGEOUS! I love that is outside but still covered. Oh wait, did I mention what an AMAZING price it is to paint for 2 hours & have everything provided for you? The word deal is a understatement! Thank you Sophia for such a wonderful experience! I can't wait to come back, for any of your events! You've given me the confidence to paint with acrylics! And gave me a great recommendation for a TV show! Lol

Had a great time!

Beautiful outdoor studio, instructor was professional & personable. All materials included with the very reasonable cost. The class was small and intimate. Great music selection in the background. I went with my mom & sister for one of our first public outings since Covid so I thought it was a great first foray back into society. Highly recommend for a girls outing, a first date, etc.

Good team building activity!

We had an amazing time on the spectacular vineyard grounds! When I saw the image we were to draw but without referring to it I thought my painting was going to be a disaster. Sophia is a great teacher and she made painting easy and fun! I definitely recommend her class!

We just had our daughter's birthday party here and it was amazing! Such a beautiful location outdoors. Lots of space for everyone to relax. It was extra special that we were able to bring our little pup with us. Just kept him on his leash and he loved being with us. The painting portion was really nice and Sophia was wonderful with the painters. She was so patient with me and all my questions beforehand. Haha. Thank you!

It is definitely pricey but so worth the time for me :) It was a good amount of time. I highly recommend getting a design fast and stay glueing the pieces to your lamp as soon as possible. Our instructor Will was very helpful, super charismatic & outgoing personality! Our bartender Laney was amazing, shout out to her for all the drinks! The mini bar menu has many options you will definitely find something up your ally. You can drink as much as you want or not drink at all. You are also welcomed to bring snacks with you to eat if needed. My cousins & I really enjoyed the step by step paint and sip night. Our instructor Will moved at a great pace really making sure his students could follow along, very beginner friendly. This was my first time at paint night…read more If I reconsider going back, I will be sure NOT to get an event with Bindu D! He is AWFUL! My daughter and I arrived at 6:55 for a 7pm event. I was SHOCKED to find 60 people there! I don't know where I got the idea that these were small events with 12-20 participants, but it is NOT. They heard you into a room PACKED full of people where half the participants can't see the stage! Bindu started by announcing that since the Warriors were playing, parking was bad, so he would be starting the event on Filipino time at around 7:15. He finally pulled himself away from the warriors game at 7:30 and had us paint our canvas black, then he took a break and told us to come back at 8:15. He did not start again until 8:30 because he was in the bar watching the game! By 9pm all we had was a black canvas and a waterfall and he starts RUSHING us saying that we need to finish by 9:15! He got drunk and was mean to people that asked about which brush he was using and he thought he was being funny - but he just came off as drunk and rude! He did NOT really give any "art class" at all. He just stood up there and said "What is happening?" and did stuff with his brush that we were supposed to follow. i HATE disorganization and this night was ruled by it. He started late, took a long break and then got irritable that we didn't hurry up and finish! I think this could be a really fun event if it had the right teacher who was interested in showing people how to paint as opposed to getting drunk and insulting people and then BRAGGING about how he's the BEST selling artist at Yaymaker. So what! That's not much of a recommendation on the whole company. So, I might be talked into trying it again as long as I am certain Bindu will NOT be involved. He was just AWFUL!

When I privately and respectfully confronted him during the event, he became defensive. I made sure the appropriate people were informed of the incident, which led to Kevin obtaining my phone number and aggressively contacting me. Although, I blocked his number, further and appropriate action had to be taken to stop him from further contact. I'm truly traumatized by this experience. Yaymaker has been taking steps to address the issue. However, I don't think any paint night participant should have to experience what I did. There were other disturbing facts about that evening, but I wanted to share the most egregious incident and its aftermath. To me, what occurred is highly problematic and concerning!

We've been part of the Rebel Art School family for about six years now, and I truly couldn't be…read morehappier to support Alex and the entire Rebel team. They just celebrated their 10-year anniversary, and I can honestly say they've created something really special. I always joke that I'm terrified of losing our spot at Rebel. The anxiety is REAL when that registration email comes through! Rebel Art School will truly make an artist out of you. When my daughter first started, she spoke mostly Spanish, so I wondered if that would be a challenge for her. I quickly learned that art doesn't require a specific language. It's its own language. My daughter is also naturally shy and tends to keep to herself. She's not usually the kid who will walk into a room and immediately try to make new friends. But Rebel gives her the freedom to be in her own space, focused on what she's creating, without ever making her feel like she needs to be an extrovert. And when she does connect with people, it happens naturally. It has been such a wonderful experience for our whole family. Now, at nine years old, my daughter has created her own little business. She makes watercolor greeting cards, sells them at different pop-ups, and even has her own sweet little corner in Rebel's retail area. Watching her creativity grow into something she's proud enough to share with the world has been one of the coolest things to witness as her mama. And honestly, one of the best parts for me is getting to fill our home with all the art and color she has created over the years. Every piece has a little memory attached to it. So if you have a little one who you think would thrive in this kind of environment, don't hesitate. This is a REAL art school, and it's such a special one. Now we just need to convince Alex to bring Rebel to Oakland someday. Wink wink. We love you all! Claudia + Colette

Rebel Art School is one of those places that I wish every family could find for their kids…read more Our oldest has been homeschooled his entire life because he received a liver and kidney transplant when he was very young and remains immunocompromised. His education has consequently involved a lot of computers and technology. He also has developmental delays and clinically diagnosed difficulties with dexterity, so when we first found Rebel, we were excited about simply giving him a chance to unplug, use his hands, and experience a completely different kind of learning. What we didn't anticipate was just how important Rebel would become to him. Art has challenged his fine motor skills in ways that are productive and enjoyable. He is painting, drawing, sculpting, building, and working with different tools and materials, all while strengthening skills that are genuinely difficult for him. Instead of feeling like he's working on something he struggles with, he's proud of what he's making. But what Rebel has given him socially may be even more valuable. When you homeschool a child, finding meaningful opportunities to build relationships and feel like part of a group can take some extra effort. At Rebel, that happened naturally. He has formed relationships with his instructors and classmates, he gets excited about going, and he has a community that belongs to him independently of us. Watching that develop has meant more to me as his mom than I can really put into a review. Our experience was so positive that we eventually signed up his younger brother too. He's now almost through his first semester, and we've watched him find his own place there in an entirely different way. Both boys have participated in Rebel's summer camps as well, and those have become something our family looks forward to every year. Something else I really appreciate is that Rebel doesn't confuse teaching technique with teaching conformity. The kids are absolutely learning how to use materials, develop skills, and understand artistic concepts, but they aren't being taught that everyone's finished product should look identical. Their individual perspective is treated as part of the art. Their ideas aren't corrected out of them. They're encouraged to take what they're learning and make something that actually feels like theirs. I think kids desperately need more of that. They need places where imagination is taken seriously. Where making something unusual isn't automatically making it wrong. Where they can try something, discover it doesn't work, change direction, and keep going. Art gives children a language for things they may not always know how to put into words, and Rebel understands that beautifully. As a parent, I'm also incredibly particular about the environments I trust with my children. Rebel is somewhere I can send them knowing they are cared for, respected, encouraged, and surrounded by adults who genuinely seem to enjoy helping kids discover what they're capable of. I thought I was signing my son up to learn art. Instead, we found something that has supported him physically, socially, creatively, and emotionally, and eventually became something his brother could call his own too. So if you're asking me if I would recommend Rebel Art School? 10,000 times over, we recommend them!
