I've been a patient of Dr. Bloch's for nearly four years now. I was referred to her from Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland Oregon. I ended up at OHSU's MS clinic after another local doctor (Dr. G. Kim Bigley) refused to properly treat my MS. I had been diagnosed by two other doctors with MS (brain lesions, symptoms, and positive spinal tap) but sent to Dr. Bigley because he was an "expert". After demanding another opinion, he agreed to refer me to OHSU. They quickly diagnosed me and Dr. Bloch was who they had listed as an "MS Specialist" in Reno. Never even heard of Dr. Bigley (according to him they knew him). I had a relapse while waiting for my appointment. I called her office to see if there was anyway I could get in, otherwise back to the hospital ER. They got me in that same afternoon! At this time, I was using a walker and had little use of my right side as my biggest problems. She was so pissed that I hadn't been put on any meds since first diagnosed 11 months earlier. She became an MS specialist due to the lack of neurologists in the area who knew much about the disease. She immediately fought to get me on a drug that's used as a 2nd course of treatment. It changed my life! I stopped needing the walker after two months and only occasionally need a cane. I do have permanent eye damage that could have been avoided if treated sooner. She listens and she cares. She also has a photogenic memory and continue to amaze me when she remembers what my first symptoms were! She's very aggressive and proactive in her treatment which is a rarity with any doctor. Her MA is awesome and always returns calls. The wait time to get in is long....but completely worth it. I can't say enough about her and how grateful that I was referred to her! read more
