I had no idea where it was located…read moreand had it not been for me looking it up on Yelp, I likely would never have realized it was where it's at. The street sign is low and not obvious. I have driven by it hundreds of times and never seen it before. The store seems to be comparable to Whole Foods prices. A clerk saw me looking at the supplements and offered to help me. She knew exactly where the one I wanted was. I love checking out all the low sugar or no sugar snacks. I was surprised to not see any low carb tortillas though. I bought some organic spices and pork chorizo. The spices were about $1-2 more than organic herbs and spices sold on regular grocery stores. The produce looked really nice. The Romaine lettuce was big, leafy and fresh looking for $3.99; the same price I paid for non-organic and subpar product at Red Barn Market that is close to me. It's a great little store to check out.

The produce section is usually solid, and I especially want to shout out the gentleman in charge of produce--he's consistently friendly, knowledgeable, and always great to talk to. That kind of service really stands out. That said, my experiences with staff have been mixed. Some employees are kind and helpful, but others can come off as unfriendly or impatient. I'm diabetic, so I often ask detailed questions when nutritional information isn't clearly listed, especially at the juice/smoothie bar. Unfortunately, the people working there don't always seem knowledgeable about protein amounts, milk options, or fruit content, and a few times the attitude felt dismissive rather than helpful. I've also noticed that the hot bar food isn't always kept at proper temperature, which is concerning, especially for a place that emphasizes health and quality. Overall, Lassens has a lot of potential and some genuinely great employees, but consistency is an issue. Better staff training--especially around nutrition knowledge and customer service--would really improve the experience.

Please allow me to take a moment to paint you a picture. 3.5 hours before a dinner party thinking I'm just gonna grab some 12for12$ oysters cause it's Friday. Call in hey what's the prep advance time you need. Nah I got you right now. Perfect Go in and this dude took time probably 10 mins minimum to talk me through perfect accompaniments and how to actually achieve this dinner I wanted. I don't normally eat pork took time to explain this different cuts his recommendations for this salmon and charcuterie plate I was doing. When I say I couldn't have prayed for better help that day without knowing Oscar existed that's a understatement Plus in general this store is fantastically friendly Prepped food counter always takes time and is nice about getting family meals set up even when they're slammed I've spent time at the cheese counter asking the local expert for her recommendations on what each one would go great with. The prime deals they host are normally as good price wise as Costco but then you get organic and some other good extra labels slapped on it. 10/10 12/10 staff 15/10 Oscar and glad I get to live so close by.

The cashiers are trained to go super fast, BUT this opens up to mistakes, namely double triple charges. I noticed this before, I seem to be charged for wrong items. Today I felt my bill felt too high for few items purchased. I saw the young man double rang me for 2 items. I would hesitate to purchase many items here, as it's hard to catch errors with many items. He quickly refunded my money, but never officially said sorry for the error. Aldi's remains super Hit or miss for me as shopper.

I came around 11:00am and it wasn't busy at all. There were maybe 6 people in the store and 2 people in line. The store was really clean and mostly stocked full. The layout is different than the Oxnard ones so it took me much longer than usual due to not knowing the layout so I did a lot of back and forth. The aisle of shame was very confusing as they had random non-special/non-seasonal stuff right smack in the middle of it like random chips that are sold everyday that are also displayed where the designated chips section is on the next aisle over. There were some German week items here that were not at the Oxnard location last week. So that was a win. Since I'll be moving to Ventura soon, this is going to be my new Aldi for weekly shopping and I am looking forward to it (again because it's not as crowded).

I was both surprised and delighted to see there were Keto friendly items and they even carry a Keto All-Purpose flour I have been wanting to try. They had a few varieties of Carbonaut breads and pizza crusts in their freezer section. They carry Santa Barbara cookies, a great self-serve coffee beans section and lots of gluten-free and vegan options. Some of the prices are comparable to Whole Foods but some were even higher. Most common items sell for $2-3 more than what you would pay for at Sprouts or Vons. This is a convenient location to my home close to The Ave and I can see how this would be a great place to shop when making a special recipe. It's a clean store and it's a nice place to shop if you don't like crowds or transients on every aisle.

This market is almost too good to be true. But bruh, I'm telling you, it's true…read more First off, they have an astonishingly huge selection of products I've never seen before, and they're products that I am eager to try. Every aisle is loaded with interesting items that will stop you dead in your tracks. I could easily spend an hour just tripping on products here. Actually, I have. A couple times. lol. But the main reason I love Ventura Ranch Market is that they have, without question, the best selection of potato chips you will find anywhere in Ventura. In addition to the city's best selection of the always great Boulder brand potato chips (even more than Sprouts), Ventura Ranch Market carries Taco Works Chips from San Luis Obispo. Those Taco Works Chips are fire, Yo. But as good as those chips are, they don't come close to the exalted excellence of the magnificent Torres brand Chips, imported from Spain. Ventura Ranch Market has a fantastic selection of Torres Chips. They have my favorite flavors, like Iberian Ham, and Mediterranean Herbs. They also have some flavors I've never seen, like Fried Egg, and Caviar. Honestly, I would try any flavor of Torres Chips, I don't care how weird they might sound. Those chips are freaking excellent. Ventura Ranch Market also carries my current favorite brand of Tortilla Chips, La Rosa. They're nice and thick and fried a little darker than most major brand commercial totopos. I like that. Another super great thing about this amazing little market is they carry Rosa Brothers Milk in glass bottles. I love milk in glass bottles! Especially Chocolate milk. Well, Ventura Ranch Market has Chocolate flavored Milk, Banana flavored Milk, Root Beer flavored Milk and even more flavors that I can't remember. So many flavors! Oh, and I almost forgot to mention they offer complimentary coffee and cookies here. First time I saw it I was like, oh, that's a nice thing to do for the Grand Opening. Then I went back like a month later and they still have cookies. It's a permanent feature. And the cookies are good! Thank you very much! Free cookies and coffee while you shop. Who even does that? Mikey C says: Ventura Ranch Market, that's who .
