Thank you, sweet lady that gave me her cart and refused my quarter to give her. This is a really quiet location compared to both of the Oxnard ones. I came around 11:00am and it wasn't busy at all. There were maybe 6 people in the store and 2 people in line. The store was really clean and mostly stocked full. The layout is different than the Oxnard ones so it took me much longer than usual due to not knowing the layout so I did a lot of back and forth. The aisle of shame was very confusing as they had random non-special/non-seasonal stuff right smack in the middle of it like random chips that are sold everyday that are also displayed where the designated chips section is on the next aisle over. There were some German week items here that were not at the Oxnard location last week. So that was a win. Since I'll be moving to Ventura soon, this is going to be my new Aldi for weekly shopping and I am looking forward to it (again because it's not as crowded). read more

GETTING HERE: Located in the ROSS shopping center on Telephone/Main. Look for the Lamps Plus and you'll be set. REVIEW: My co-worker talks about Aldi daily. It's her favorite store. All the things. While I admit I am not quite yet the President of the Aldi Fan Club, maybe I'm getting close. I've been to a handful of them in the V.C., and this location is probably one of the better ones. I know service can vary anywhere you go, depending on staff etc., but this Aldi is a bit different. I love the layout. I love the shelf-stable items; next on my to-do grocery list is to try some of their frozen foods. The snacks/chocolate items are really good, too. Please give me all the chocolate. Aldi's is such a mixed shopping experience- I am a #1 Trader Joe's fan, and they do have some connection with their German family origins and you can see some overlap of products. BUT while T. Joes has strict standards for ingredients they allow in their branded products (tend not to see artificial extra colors, preservatives, overly processed margarine, shortenings, etc) you will see this more in Aldi's products as they carry both in house and other brands. Trader Joes has many employees working on any shift, so you'll see multiple cashier lines available and enough people to ask Qs. Aldi is complete opposite- you rarely see staff on the floor, and generally at this location 1 checker is open so lines can be long, BUT staff generally know how to move quickly b/c they don't bag your groceries. It's rare that I've ever seen them open a 2nd line here. It does not usually get as crowded as maybe the Oxnard locations. I wonder if Aldis are franchise owned, b/c the holiday treats here seemed to run out fairly fast by 1st week of Dec. I was at the Oxnard Gonzales location (3rd week of Dec) and they still had a lot of Holiday treats available. Less than maybe what was avail. in late Nov. but much more than Ventura store. I do like the very affordable prices, the store is clean and has wide open aisles. BUT there is such a sterile colder feeling to this store, so it's more of an occasional stop to check out treats, (their European chocolates are some of their best offerings), low price avocados and some frig prepared foods but it is not a regular grocery stop for me. read more

Aside from the fact that ALDI has great deals and awesome unique items, it's quite possibly the cleanest (and most organized) grocery store I've ever been to. Recently started shopping here and I've made it a once (or twice) a week routine at this point. They are cousin stores with Trader Joe's so a lot of crossover items like their macarons, but they are cheaper here than traders. Lowest price on eggs and milk in the area. Found an off-brand soda stream for less than $12 (a seriously good deal, Amazon options are at least double the price). Sometimes items don't have the correct price below them like the A1 steak sauce pictured, but it's easy enough to ask the price at checkout and decide then. Also just realized, in the middle of the American Civil War, someone decided, ya know what we need, a really good steak sauce. In 1862. They have a $5 chocolate cake that can only be described as chocolate with chocolate chips and chocolate icing. If you like chocolate the chocolate cake is worth your time and definitely worth the $5 price tag. A few tips about ALDI for those who have never been... bring a quarter, like a physical $0.25 piece. You'll need it for a shopping cart deposit. You get it back when you return your shopping cart. Also bring your own bags if you don't want to buy them (but that's pretty common everywhere nowadays). The main thing is the quarter for a cart. Threw me off the first time, but now I keep a quarter in the car just for the weekly ALDI trip. It's the only ALDI I've ever been to, so I'm not sure if they are all super clean like this one but I can tell you this is a very aesthetically pleasing grocery store to shop at, and while they have very few name brand items, their ALDI brand holds its own quite well based on my experiences. Cashiers sit down (on chairs) which is probably why they are always in such a good mood (compared with the traditional grocery store checkers who are on their feet all day and hate life). And when there is a long line it goes surprisingly fast because they don't bag anything for you- that's all something you do either after checkout or at the trunk of your car. Regardless, the cleanliness of this grocery store above all else gets 5 stars in my book. read more

I resisted going for a while but glad I finally did. It's the best overall grocery experience I've had here. It's a convenient store concept, not usually crowded, you get all the time you want to bag your own groceries your own way, it has reasonable prices, clear aisles, competent cashiers, and convenient parking. There's no required "club", phone number, or frequent shopper card (i.e. marketing). Oh, also they aren't trying to find creative ways to rip you off -- SO much better than Ralph's or Vons. I don't care for the requirement that you have to temporarily loan them a quarter in order to use a shopping cart, but just a minor annoyance. Another reviewer said you can't take a cart out of the store, that's just false. There are some similarities to Trader Joe's: This probably won't be your ONLY grocery due to the somewhat limited offerings (smaller store size). And they have mostly their own brand of things as opposed to recognizable brands. A few Aldi products may fall short, but we've also found great things that we've never seen anywhere else. On the plus side, Aldi brand sometimes has package design very similar to the name brand, enabling you to identify either who really made it or at least what it's modeled after. read more

Aldi is one of my favorite stores in town, I usually go in person and get items through Instacart or DoorDash. I have always had experience. I love their fruits and vegetables, they're good pricing and good quality I like the small store vibe, however, sometimes lines can be long and longer time otherwise I will definitely return here. read more

The produce was not fresh, the choices were severely limited, the customer service non-existent. I gave it a try because I went to an Aldi in Spain and it was amazing. What I love about Aldi's is that WW, Keto, & other "Get Healthy" groups share their favorite finds from Aldo often. Aldi, I believe I will be one of your besties! I went today. I did not have a quarter in my wallet to unlock a cart. I went into the store and I found an empty box. I used that as my shopping basket. Most items were about 1$ less than the competitors. Parking was fine. My favorite find was my outdoor tablecloth for camping!! I had just come from Bed, Bath, & Beyond looking for one and they were sold out. Here are my purchases: Indr/Outdoor tablecloth - $7.99 Mixed frozen fruit- tropical $3.99 2 Dark Chocolate candy Bars @ $1.99 each Gallon Twinlock bags $1.99 Dunkers - Chocalote Chip cookies(a delicious impulse buy that does not belong on my weight loss plan - $3.99 Ricotta Cheese $1.85 LF Yogurt $ .33 Baby Bella mushrooms - $1.99 Dog Biscuits - $1.55 Low Carb Tortillas - $2.09 Honeycrisp apples in a bag - $4.49 The 2 open lines seemed long. However they went buy fast as the checkers put your items in the cart. You walk over to the long aisle, just like a laundry mat, and you bag them yourself. I will be back, for sure. I will bring a quarter most definitely to obtain a cart. BTW, It is near our original Ross Dress for Less. It is also near Play it Again Sports, Lamps 4 Less, Lakeshore, FedEx, & Petco. It is across the street from McDonalds (get the app), Target, Bed, Bath, & Beyond, a bird store, Eggs & Things, & Firehouse Subs. I love ALDIs for cheap produce when I can't get anything at the farmers market. They are so much cheaper than any store for produce and it is still high quality. They have a lot of kids toys that are reasonably priced too. The service here at checkout is always outstanding. The ambiance at this store is very clean. They also have cheap ginger wellness shots and Kombucha that is pretty cheap. Eggs are cheap here when I can't get fresh ones from my neighbor I see I'll get them at Aldi. read more

CHECK THE DATES. There is always food that is expired or about to expire. I went in and was looking for an item but all dates were gonna expire within 3 days so didn't grab. Went in next week and those items were still out meaning already expired. Have seen costumers tell employees but they do not change anything. Disappointing read more

Low stars because the guy with the glasses and a mask at aldi gave me a bad attitude and got mad at my 7 year old son because he locked up one of the carts not knowing what would happened. So the guy with mask and glasses got mad and he smashed the cart into his desk and got mad so ALDI do a better job on finding better workers. IF HE DONT LIKE HIS JOB THEN LEAVE. read more

I don't really know how to review this place. Yeah, the food is cheap. So is some of the quality and bugs. But there are bugs at Pavillions so whatever. They don't do bags so bring your own and you can't take a cart out of the store. The employees weren't rude but we didn't really talk to them. Very limited organic section, but that was to be expected. The food seemed to be cheaper than Kroger or Raphs but probably on par with Costco or Costco has them beat. Probably the latter. There're no veggie burgers or tofu of any kind but can't say I'm surprised. I loaded up on plant based ramen and plant based single meals and am pleasantly surprised. I'll probably be back to buy every plant based meal they have here if we like them and consider them a welcome addition to our shopping as long as we bring bags. YMMV read more

This has nothing to do with the store employees. They never have any of the advertised specials in stock. I recently bought three items from the website, spent $26, got my purchase confirmation. Only to receive an email the next morning advising me that my purchase was canceled as none of the items were in stock & it would take TEN DAYS for my refund!! They got their money immediately but I have to wait ten days. They suck. This has happened too many times for me to try again. You've lost me as a customer. I'm done. read more

I love shopping at Aldi! The produce is fresh and affordable. The meat, chicken, and fish products are great. Definitely a great place to shop for your groceries. They also sell wines, beers at much cheaper prices. And they have some household products and gifts that are usually seasonal. Keep in mind that you do need to bag your own groceries. Bring your own reusable tote bags or shopping bags to be more friendly to environment and not be charged for bags. Lots of parking in the plaza. read more

Aldi's is my favorite grocery store in Palm Springs, and I was happy to see this new store open in Ventura near Office Depot, Fedex, and Target. A smaller store than Winco, it has reasonably priced fruits and vegetables with great deals on meat products, crackers, baking items, preserves, etc.. Their shelves include European items that avoid corn syrup and items not found in other stores. You pay a fee for a shopping cart, guaranteeing someone will return it for the refund. It is a 'bag your own' kind of place, lowering staff and therefore prices. If you like perusing grocery shelves for something new as well as low prices on your basics, this is the place to go. read more

I've been here a few times and I'm just increasingly disappointed. Today the produce section was full of fruit flies and there were several pieces of rotting fruit mixed in with the fruit for sale. I also found it inconvenient that they only offer their potatoes in giant bags. I really only needed one potato so I had to go elsewhere to buy it. As a single person there is no way I could use up a big bag of potatoes before they go bad. They also advertise that they are cheaper but that isn't the case. Bananas are 49 cents each at Aldi and at any other store they are about 19 cents. I don't think I'll be back. There are a number of other grocery stores nearby. read more

A cheating store. I bought a bag of oranges this morning. It is $1.99 per bag. While I checked out the cashier charged me $4.04 per bag. I told him it is $1.99 not $4.04. But he said "you are wrong. It is $1.99 per lb. " After I got home I found it was marked 3lb per bag. It should be $5.97 per bag per cashier. I am so unhappy with my earlier experience that the store always charged me $0.20 more than they marked on bread. so I have to went back to the store and found the store manager. She confirmed it was $1.99 per bag not per lb. But she denied the cheating. read more

I found this store to be tough to get used to. There is a smell about it that is just bothersome. I thought it was just a one off, but unfortunately, that's just the way it smells inside the store. There are a couple items I like but after many attempts, it's just not helpful to go out of my way for so few things. I also don't feel great when I'm going to my car and a tweaked hits me up for money. This just clearly isn't the store for me. read more
