Moon Mountain Farms - This is the entrance to the place. Not the 4 or 5 other giant lots with trees down one stretch of the 126.

Heard of Moon Mountain via word of mouth, and showed up looking for a lime tree. No luck they said, they didn't have any. They did walk us through their property and showed us a whole host of other wonderful looking plants and I'll be returning when I landscape my yard. Friendly service, great looking plants, just no limes!

I decided to make one more stop, and I pulled into this place. I'd driven past this place countless times. They've got several places down the 126, and I did pull into two of them thinking of buying a plant for my patio. "Third time's the charm" I thought to myself as I pulled into the lot with a semi trailer advertising for the place. I saw other cars and realized I was in the right lot. I got out of my car and started meandering around, looking at the multitudes of potted plants, all organized by type. They had pots of every size, from small desk-pot sized to giant tree-sized pots. Before too long somebody came out to greet me and help me out. I explained my needs; I needed something that was kinda cool looking, and nigh-indesctructable. I have a tendency to forget that plants need watering and care and stuff. I excitedly buy plants, and then put the plants on my patio and then tend to wonder why I have pots with sticks several months later. Benjamin furrowed his brow and lead me over to an aisle of plants. He began pointing out the ones that were more difficult to kill. We hadn't gotten very far down the row before a bush caught my eye. It was a greenish thing with some deep red leaves. It certainly fulfilled the "looking kinda cool" requirement. Benjamin said it was fairly hardy, and drought resistant. That went along way for requirement #2. I decided to get it. I expected it to be a fairly expensive purchase, but was very relieved when Benjamin said it was only twenty bucks. He picked up the plant and brought it over to the trailer that served as their office. He punched my credit card info into the computer, and rang me up. He then put the plant in a great big bag that prevented the dirt from getting all over the trunk of my car. He offered to bag the top as well, to prevent leaves from getting all over the trunk of my car, but I declined. I was more concerned with dirt, leaves I could pick up easily enough and toss out. (Which happened when I got home.) He even carried it over to my car and loaded it into my trunk. Nice job Benjamin. I drove home and planted the bush, and marveled at the price. A paltry twenty bucks for this cool lookin bush that was nearly up to my chest. If at some point I discover one of my pots has a bunch of sticks in it, I'll certainly head back here for something else.

Do not use this company! They do not stand behind their work…read more Spent over $23,000 on landscaping and construction services from this company less than 2 years ago, and have had terrible service from the moment final payment was made. When Brandon (my contact) told me which plants they intended to install, I told him some wouldn't survive the hot, dry, full-sun location. He insisted they would work, and told me they all had a one-year guarantee. Within three months, when they started to die, I sent him photos and asked that they be replaced with others. Despite promises they would be changed (at least six times over the next few months), they were never replaced. Likewise, the artificial turf that was installed was not installed with enough/the right adhesive and the turf has become a serious tripping hazard. Again, calls to Brandon were met with promises that someone would come out to fix it, and no one ever did. Repeated messages were not returned. Last month an obviously broken irrigation pipe under the tile/artificial turf they installed caused flooding in my yard. When I called the company to ask for someone to come out to evaluate what could be done, Jordan told me Brandon no longer worked for the company. (I guess that explains why my messages weren't returned.) Jordan told me he was Brandon's replacement, and that he would be out in two days to take a look. 10 days later, he came out and confirmed it was a broken pipe, but said my warranty had expired and there would be a charge to repair the pipe. He told me it would require the large tiles and turf to be demolished to find the problem, but he'd send me an estimate. It's been over a month and again, I've been ghosted. I consulted another irrigation specialist who told me that if a pipe underground ha broken, it was likely cracked when it was installed. I hope this serves as a warning for anyone considering paying this company to do landscaping and installation.

It's open from 8am to 5pm daily with an all-star cast of incredible knowledgeable and caring individuals who help keep GTN great. Grab a wagon and load up because you won't know when to stop with some many great plants, deals on supplies and their inviting layout. As a small chain of garden centers meets plant nurseries I have to say this location stands out. Their online shop is easy also with get learning materials, newsletters , resources and even a plant library. I'll never forget my first trip here with my friend Sam, definitely need to hit her up again for a plant day, but absolutely still enjoy coming here with others and of course solo for some planty self-care. Adding some Elephant Bush (Portulacaria afra) friends to the plant family at home. Absolutely and 818/SFV/LA Valley favorite among many. You'll want to get lost between the many areas the have here and in the main area as well as their extended open air garden on the parking lot side. Staff here is very personable and extremely knowledgeable. From lawn and outdoor patio furniture or fixtures, fountains, decorations and plant care musts, GTN has a bit of it all. Even fun seasonal items and sales. Entrance in back, where you'll also find their parking lot, fairly spacious, but it can and does fill up on weekends. Restroom available for customers.
